Paid $16 for a large chicken soup. It was very, very mid and nothing like what I've ever had from a Jamaican spot or HOME. It tasted like lightly spiced water mixed with tiny shreds of chicken and cock soup mix (but like less than necessary). I've previously tried their wings and enjoyed them but this soup was not it, baybee. Also, I arrived about 10 to 15 minutes before closing. What frustrates me about this place is how dry their Jerk white meat chicken is! It wouldn't be so angering if they included the natural sauce it was cooked in. They have a sweet jerk sauce that upsets me. Why only that option? So mad. I want the non-sweet jerk sauce it was cooked in. I don't understand why they do this is way. If the chicken has dry skin it needs to be juicy on the inside and it's not. If the whole things is dry it needs to have enough non-sweet dripping sauce to be covered in. This place would be good if it didn't have such dry chicken. Can't even eat it. If this changes it will change the rating to at least a four because the skin and the little little drippings it comes with has good flavor. But don't get the white meat. Not bad. Just not as good as I remembered. I hadn't patronized since 2021. Something about my food was a little too sweet. I got a large oxtail dinner and they didn't hesitate to give you your money's worth. My daughter got the two meats (oxtail and stew chicken) she said it was fine. One of my favorite Jamaican places in Maryland. It's found on the back side of the PG mall. Small restaurant but definitely big in taste!!!! Their patties are delicious, you can never go wrong. During regular business (not covid time) they have lunch specials. It's like $8-$10 for a whole bunch of food. Their regular menu prices aren't bad either jerk chicken is about $11-12 depending on if you get white or dark meat. All their entrees come with rice and pea, cabbage and plantains. I ordered a small jerk chicken and a large curry chicken. They have three sizes small, large, and x large. Their jerk chicken is very tasty and has tons of flavor. You have to e option of having the jerk sauce on the side or on the chicken. I always get it on the side because I like to dip my chicken and I like it on the rice. Their rice and peas alone have lots of flavor and can be eaten on its own. The curry chicken can use a little more spice. But overall was delicious as well. Instead, it primarily pertains to the horrible customer service, at yet another Black-owned business, I experienced. Despite hearing positive things about the food, I decided to make a 25-minute drive to support this Black-owned business. Unfortunately, the terrible service began the moment I entered the establishment. Upon walking in, I was greeted in an aggressive manner with, "What can I do for you...or what can I help you with." I asked to see the menu. After placing my order, I requested a different sauce than the jerk sauce initially offered. The fish was thick and meaty full of flavor , the plantains were amazing. The price was 17 dollars other items range between $8-$12 but it's most definitely worth it . Usually a fav of mine, but lately, not so much! I usually get some jerk wings, patties, or the curry chicken with white rice, and most of the time, I get the pineapple ginger homemade juice. Recently I had the curry goat, which was very tasty, but today the curry goat does not taste good. It lacks taste, and most of the meat I was given was fatty meat. Also, the pineapple ginger has not been good recently, it has a bucket taste to it. Not sure what's been happening lately. To top it off, as I got to the end of my chicken patty, there was a hair in it. How gross, it made me not want to eat anything else. Omg. This by farrrr is the best Jamaican spot in the area. The establishment is mediocre, but people don't really dine in often. I think there are three or 4 booth style tables for people to sit in. But the food, is nothing short of amazing. The wings fall off the bone. They are juicy and spicy. I love them the most. The plantains are good, and they always give good portions. I can usually eat off 12 piece wing dinner for a couple days depending on how hungry I am. Bottom line: The food is great for the price to me. It's like you have a home cooked meal in a to-go box. Meat isn't dry, full of flavor, generous helpings. I love it. I personally think it's better than the jerk pit and Negril and those are both good places. I got the small size and the food was way more then I expected. I could barely finish my food. Everything was so delicious but I felt the cabbage could use little more seasoning. I also got a beef patty which was the best I've ever ate. It was soft yet flaky and the spice level was perfect not too hot. The service was very quick. I got my order within 5 minutes. Ehhh, not the most visible location as its on the back side of PG Plaza near Target. But in their defense, there's a lot of foot traffic through this area. All I had was a chicken patty and plantains. I had never been to this place and I typically start out small when ordering food at an unfamiliar establishment. The patty was pretty good...nothing special. It was a little smaller than Im used to as well as pricier. The chicken patty was $2.25 and the plantains were $2.50. The plantains, however, were plentiful. I think it was a nice amount in the container although they were sliced really large and some were dry. Im used to plantains being a little sweet. All-in-all, this is a decent place to grab a snack. Perhaps I'll stop back in and give the jerk chicken a try. :) Also, credit cards are accepted but you must have a minimum purchase of $10 so bring cash if you're just grabbing a snack. read more

The jerk chicken is too mild however the jerk wings.is where its at. They also have good lunch specials. I took off a star for the over cooked rice and the high prices. The competition is about $4-8 less and most of the food is just as good. If your not coming here for the oxtails and curry goat, you can go elsewhere and save some money. read more
