    Pulled Jerk Chicken Bowl
    Alicia W.

I tried the Angry Jerk after hearing multiple reviews about it. I ordered via Uber Eats and I love relatively close so it was no biggie. I ordered the pulled jerk chicken bowl with jerk cauliflower, sweet potatoes, cabbage and pickled cucumber sign a side of fried rice. The fried rice had no flavor so I didn't even finish it. The bowl was cool. If I could do it again, I would not have gotten the cabbage. The cabbage made the bowl very oily and bc of that, I was hesitant on finishing it. The jerk chicken was just ok. Now the jerk cauliflower and sweet potatoes...chefs kiss. I would not order the fried rice again and will say that my dining experience was just ok. Again, I ordered via uber eats. The food was packaged nicely and bc I live close by, my food was will hot upon delivery. If I had to dine here again, it would be for the veggies. Other than that, it wouldn't be my first dining choice.

Was recommended by a friend to check this place out. Seemed like a lot of online orders were placed as we were waiting watching staff prepare multiple bags before acknowledging us waiting to order. We did a jerk chicken bowl with rice and beans with a variety of toppings. Overall good flavors but pretty expensive for what it was. I wish there was an option to try or get a couple sauces on the side since what we went with wasn't very spicy. They automatically prep food in to go containers even though we ended up eating at one of the few tables in the store. Would be interested to try something else but with so many near by restaurants would probably just try somewhere new.

See photo attached. Very unsanitary and nasty. Will never eat from here again. Threw all of the food away

Pretty good food and nice change from the places nearby. But slow service and overpriced. See pic for my *$28* meal - a curry chicken bowl, vanilla pudding, and a soft drink. Keep in mind, this is fast casual, and a chipotle-style build your bowl type of line.

Popped into The Angry Jerk, after a little partying at Society. I really wanted to like this place, but unfortunately, I didn't. While the concept is great, the food is not quality. Let me start off by saying the customer service was on point, very nice staff. The inside is small, enough room for a few folks to sit. But I see it more as a grab your food and run or grab your food eat it quickly and get out! They are set up like chipotle, but all of the ingredients are not free. The ingredients didn't seem fresh. Not sure if they had been sitting out all day, but they were just ok. The jerk chicken was decent, but nothing was jerk about it! For the price, the amount of food they give you isn't too bad. But the quality definitely was not worth what I paid. I truly expected more.

Review is for DuPont location: Tried Angry Jerk for the first time today after reading rave reviews. It took me some time to actually locate the restaurant because my GPS kept sending me in circles and then it's good luck finding parking! When I went in, the manager seemed a bit distracted by a phone call he was on. I was barely greeted and the lady who took over my order wasn't super friendly. It was my first time there so I wasn't sure how the order process worked. She didn't try to explain or recommend me anything. Just stared at me with a dead pan expression. I mean I get it. I just got off work and was tired myself but a little customer service goes a long way and makes a difference. Now for the food, it was just ok. I got a little spoon of oxtail and the rice wasn't spectacular. My food was lukewarm, and not very hot. They had healthy options for sides, so I'll give them that, but I wouldn't come back again. I could get the same food with bigger portions for less money and feel satisfied.

The wings were very good. I got the flavor that wasn't spicy

So are we really paying $28 for these small portions here at "The Angry Jerk"? Well, I did...I give you HONEST, not sponsored reviews. Let's start with the pros: decor was nice and trending with the logo everywhere. It's a small venue and meant to be a quick stop and eat or carryout option. They are located in downtown Silver Spring, literally next to Society Lounge (if you know, you know) that's been a staple and landmark in the DMV for years. Back to The Angry Jerk: The service was average. The young man working the register just seemed like he was there doing his job. I was going to ask for recommendations but he gave off the vibe of nonchalant. The food was good, but expensive for the portion size. I got the wings. The sides are alacarte so I ordered the mac and cheese and cabbage. The wait for my food was about 10 minutes. My biggest cons were the portion sizes of the sides (too small like a kiddie veesion) and the parking was a terror but that's to be expected in downtown Silver Spring. Check out the pictures I took and more of my reviews on social media. All platforms: CocoasJoy or CocoaAlmondjoy.

Time if the text of them letting me know my food was ready when it really wasn't
    Sia Q.

This is my order it should have been ready by 10:44 I didn't get a text on my phone until 11:12 but my food did not come out until 11:30. And the reason why is because they were too busy fraternizing with the female customers instead of focusing on my food and then my food has the nerve to be cold and my rice ain't cooked all the way through.

The food was delicious, looks just like the menu chicken moist, cabbage was flavorful. The service was fast ,pleasant and professional. We came from DC to try this location out after hearing great things about this location. We will definitely be coming back for more.

Delicious tastes of the Caibbean in downtown Silver Spring. Everything is prepared, so you point to what you want and select to make a meal. Quite similar to a Chipotle type proceaa, but more delicious and Caribbean! The food is quite tasty, portions are pretty good. I only wish they had more condiments and sauces that you could put in a small container to take with you to go. I wish they had more locations or more in Northern Va.

Brown Stew Chicken Entree Lo Mein Plantains Steamed Cabbage

So good! I've had many Jamaican places in Silver Spring. This spot is my new favorite. Not only is the menu unique offering tacos and bowls, but the food is good! I had the brown stew chicken entree, plantains and lo mein. I've never had lo mein at a Jamaican spot. This one is well seasoned and has a bit of a kick. Very good. The plantains were as expected -crispy, goey, and sweet. The brown stewed chicken and rice and peas were my absolute favorite. Not too spicy, buttery, and just delicious. The cabbage was too spicy for me, but still great. The service was also great! I will be back.

After a long day at the office, I was in no mood to cook, so I decided to try out the Angry Jerk for some tacos. The fact that it is a Black-owned establishment was an added bonus, as I wanted to show my support. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by the lively beats of reggae music, which instantly set the mood for a fun dining experience. The aroma of curry filled the air, tantalizing my taste buds and making me even hungrier. Despite it being a busy Sunday night at 8pm, with a long line of people, the Angry Jerk was well-prepared to handle the influx of customers. The staff was efficient ensuring that everyone was served in a timely manner. I was pleasantly surprised to find myself in and out of the line within 15 minutes, which was quite impressive given the crowd. One of the highlights of my visit was the window seat, allowing me to enjoy my meal while taking in the view outside. It provided a nice spot to relax, hang out, and savor every bite. The ambiance of the restaurant was inviting and cozy, making it the ideal place to unwind after a long day. I enjoyed the Jerk Shrimp and Jerk Chicken Tacos. Both came with rice and peas, plantin and mango salsa. The portions were satisfying and the flavors were tasty.

Start with the Aloo and Channa pies and crab accras, order a cocktail early, and do not be surprised if your server is already one step ahead of you. We let Tim lead, which was the right decision. Not just knowledgeable, intuitive. The kind of service where you feel guided, not managed. He brought extra garlic aioli before we asked, we laughed, because he was absolutely right. That set the tone. The Aloo and Channa pies came out crisp and golden, with a filling that was warm, spiced, and balanced. Not heavy, not trying to prove anything, just well executed. The crab accras followed, light, clean fry, no grease, which matters. The sauces did their job. Each one added something instead of just sitting there looking pretty. Cocktails held their own. The West Indian Old Fashioned had depth without getting muddy. The Savannah was bright and easy in the best way. Together, they framed the food instead of competing with it. Then the Bake & Fish sandwiches. Solid on their own, but Tim brought lemon slices without prompting, and that was the move. That little hit of acid sharpened everything. Same intuition, twice. That's not luck. The kitchen shows restraint, which is where the confidence lives. This isn't "let's throw spice at it and call it Caribbean." The flavor is intentional, layered, and controlled. You can taste the difference. The only thing to know, the energy builds. What starts as dinner leans toward lounge as the night goes on. If you want quiet, time it right. If you want atmosphere, you're exactly where you should be. We will definitely be back.
