    Christmas Family Dinner!!

Food is excellent!! Just like home made!! They exceeded my expectations!! They catered my Christmas family Dinner!!

The place is allowing dine in I guess and the tables are separated. The menu is simple and authentic. I got the jerk chicken (4.5/5) small portion. It came with a side of plantains (4/5) and rice and cabbage (I didn't get it). Also the meal comes with jerk sauce. It was good but was definitely not enough for the meal. Make sure you get extra sauce. Coming to the chicken it was tender and cooked very well. But without the sauce it lacked flavor. So don't forget to ask for extra. Next time I might try other things on the menu. The staff are polite and friendly.

Wow authentic jerk chicken like I get in Jamaica. Everything was great and the curry chicken was perfect. The chicken was fall off the bone tender yet firm and flavorful. Everyone there was super nice and helpful. The plantains were cooked to perfection.

Here's the nutty cleaver attack administered to this chicken.

If I could get them to serve the jerk chicken in normal serving portions they'd get at least 4 stars as it was pretty darn tasty. Sadly, the chef decided to demonstrate his/her cleaver skills to disastrous effect. Each piece was riddled with the smallest, sharpest bone fragments you could imagine. Pity, because the Scotch Bonnet really shined through in the sauce.

It was ok. Service was quick for take out. I felt comfortable that health and safety provisions are being made but the food tastes just ok. And a large Ox tails wasn't large at all. It was $20. Picture attached.

I've just recently gotten into eating Jamaican food after a friend turned me onto it. That being said this is the second place I've ever tried it from. I always get the same thing when coming here, the Jerk Chicken. It is sooo delicious. The rice and the plantains that it comes with are perfect (I always thought I didn't like soft plantain until I tried theirs). You get a large portion which equates to the price so it doesn't feel like your overpaying for anything. I don't even want to try anything else because I'm addicted to the jerk chicken, however my mother says the curried chicken roti is also delicious. I'd definitely recommend this if you're in the area!

Dude, what the Hell. This is why you need to eat at home. I bought a large goat soup, and at the bottom of the bowl, I found goat skin with a ton of hair on it.

Vegan/ dairy free Specialty Soursop Juice

I really like this restaurant. It's very cute and clean. I think the measures they are taking during this covid pandemic is good they have hand sanitizing stations and a glass between you and the workers. I ordered the fish and Callaloo patties and they were delicious . I also ordered a specialty soursop drink which is also quite tasty. So if you are looking for dairy free or vegan options this is a great place to visit. The cashier was very nice and inviting. Overall I enjoyed my visit to this restaurant and definitely would recommend it to others.

We decided to stop by the area. The restaurant was located in a busy shopping center so parking was limited. Upon entering the staff was friendly and took our order. We ordered a large oxtail and jerk chicken dinner. The oxtails were small, lacked meat and the sauce was tomato based which is uncommon to me. The jerk chicken as flavorful but extra sauce was needed to liven up the flavorless rice. Overall it was an okay experience.

I didn't even have the energy to put on a show; I just needed a moment alone with my platter to savor every bite. I think the mac and cheese has the perfect consistency of creamy, crusted cheese and flavor. The wings are really good, too! You don't really need a sauce to pair them with; they are good on their own and super tasty. I hope the chef has a fantastic weekend; they deserve whatever they want for how good this food is. I hope this establishment receives all the love it deserves. I would definitely come here again, and I would bring my family in person for a family dinner. Next time, I will definitely try the Rasta pasta or some of their other dishes.

This place would be good if it didn't have such dry chicken. Can't even eat it. If this changes it will change the rating to at least a four because the skin and the little little drippings it comes with has good flavor. But don't get the white meat. It's something that's only available from 7:00-11:00am on weekends, and I'm usually sleeping in or just not ready to get out of the house that early. My family and I were leaving for NY early on a Saturday morning, and I had no choice but to be awake and ready. So before we took off, I took advantage! It was around 8:30am and I was the only one in the restaurant. But it smelled amazing in there and they were friendly and happy! I had glimpsed the menu online, and I was scanning their screens for it above the register, but they had their regular menu up. I was walked through the options, and even got to taste a few things. I got to try sa\da roti for the first time, and I was intrigued. It's very similar to pita bread, but after looking it up I learned of the subtle differences. I was able to put pumpkin, smoked herring, saltfish, or eggplant & potatoes in it. I got food for my parents as well, so I settled on quite a few things: -Sada roti w/ pumpkin -Sada roti w/ eggplant/potatoes -Bake & saltfish -3 aloo pies Everything... was... STELLAR. I tasted the smoked herring and I honestly wish I got that in something, but I most certainly will next time. Is this the best Trini restaurant in the DMV?!

Their HH runs Mon-Fri from 5-7 and include 5-7 cocktails, beer, and wine that they offer at $2ish off the regular price. We stuck with the cocktails and had their Blue Lagoons (which are essentially electric blue vodka lemonades) for $8ish. They were tasty and after 2 of them, we were definitely ready to party. Next time, I want to try the rum punch for $10 - though I noticed the rum punch was premade (vs being made fresh per order). Unfortunately, there are no food offers on the happy hour. The spot was very empty when we arrived, maybe around 5.30p - there was one other couple enjoying time at the bar. Outside of the 8-10 bar seats, they have some lounge level seating, as well as more standard 4-top tables. At the very front of the area, is a small stage where DJ's and karaoke specialists set up. The food was really good; I had the curry chicken plate for $16ish and my girlfriend had the shrimp rasta pasta for $19ish. The food was very flavorful and came out piping hot from the kitchen. I'd get the curry again, for sure. The environment and vibe was the most enjoyable part of my visit; the hip hop and top40's music gave the place a great energy (but wasn't so loud that you couldn't chat. The bartenders were energetic, lively, and friendly. There seemed to be alot of regular patrons who knew each other and the bartenders - that's a really good sign. The karaoke host was great; she kept the group energized and led some karaoke style games and activities that I hadn't seen before. We ended up stay out way longer than expected because we were having such a nice time. I look forward to my next happy hour at JCK. By default it came with two pieces of oxtails but that was too much meat for me so I asked for just one piece and more veggies. My server was kind enough to do such modification for me. The oxtail was fork-tender, had lots of collagen, beefy, and had a distinct sourness. The pickled veggies (cucumber slaw & bell peppers) provided a different type of sourness and a hint of heat. Overall very good, though the flavors from the meat and veggies were so strong that I could not have a clear idea of the flavor of the coconut rice. Also, I wish there could be more jus because it went soooooo well with the rice! The second time was for dinner. Tried the Pepperpot, Crispy Kale and Hops. The Pepperpot was a stew of oxtails, cowheels and beef chucks. Very beefy and spicy, a little bit sour/tangy, and very earthy. The sauce was heavenly. It was served with a small bowl of coconut rice and 2 pieces of hops. The rice was a little bit sweet and salty. The hops were similar to dinner rolls, except that they were more dense and firmer.
