The portion was very small for $25. The service was fast but the food taste bland. Very under seasoned. The ambiance was dry no one was in the entire restaurant not even a sole at the bar it was a friday in a college town. I would not recommend for food or a hang out spot

This restaurant is a carryout restaurant with a dining area. They do not have table service. You order your food from the front counter and you can either take it and go or you can take it to their dining area to eat. The dining area has a few tables and has Caribbean music blasting throughout. Patrons getting carryout can also sit and wait in the dining area until their food is ready. You will find the menu posted on a large board on the wall. They have all your Caribbean favorites including oxtail, wings, cabbage, and curry chicken. I got wings with a side of cabbage and plantains. I had them throw in a beef patty to top my meal off. It took them about 10 to 15 to prepare my food. The food was really good. The cabbage was not your typical American cabbage, but it was still decent. The wings were very flavorful and tasted really good. The plantains were amazing. They were very sweet and had a little crunch on the edges. The beef patty was pretty good too. My meal did not disappoint. There is free street parking available in front of the restaurant and within a reasonable walking distance. The restaurant has a food truck parked out front that they use for catering gigs. The staff there was very friendly and helpful. I really enjoyed my meal here and highly recommend checking them out.

Best place I've ever ate at Ms.Judy is the nicest person and most helpful. The food was amazing the area felt welcoming and super friendly .

I believe I saw the jerk chicken tacos in an Instagram post and saved it to my D.C. Yelp list, and I'm glad I did!! The tacos were worth the wait coming from Houston! The flour shells were soft and crispy, the chicken was well seasoned and juicy, and the peppers/onions rounded the flavor out nicely. The cabbage was bomb, wasn't expecting much it was a pleasant surprise. The beef patty was average but solid. 9/10 overall. The inside of the restaurant was small but did have places for you to dine-in. Service didn't take a long time considering the chicken was cooked fresh, but I also went after the lunch rush around 2 pm. If it was during busy hours I'd recommending placing a pick up order. Street parking is also extremely difficult to find and there isn't a parking lot.

This Jamaiican Food Place is open late nights in Washington, DC. They have a food truck as well. We came here at 12a-1a to order food for a family member. The parking is challenging as there is a club within 20 feet of the restaurant. Once we found street parking, we walked up to a line of about 15 people outside then about 15 more inside. This is a good sign; people willing to wait for authentic Jamaican Food. After standing in line for 20-25mins, we ordered with the 1 person taking orders. Then, we waited another 20mins for the food to be ready. There is no room inside the establishment to sit down while you wait for your food to be ready. We got back to our place and the family member started when they realize that it just wasn't as flavorful as the truck. The feedback is that the food truck food was well marinated well seasoned and cooked much better. Also, the full menu is not available m We will stick to the food truck version of this place. It is nice that they have a stand up restaurant as well, but we prefer to have the good stuff for the prices we paid. TIP: The full menu is not available for late night dining, only about 4 select items.

Heavy portions, inviting staff, and plenty of choices. You can eat off one of these plates for 2 days. They don't hold back. Food was delicious, seasoned properly, and overall delicious. Only thing I would say is that the jerk chicken was hot as hell. But that's the thing about the jerk, it's either gonna be on the sweeter side, or extra spicy. But I will be back here for sure.

Ordered to go. Overall the food was decent. Price was average for a meal like this. I think next time I'd like to eat in person but definitely would order again.

My tongue is so happy right now. The seasoning is perfectly spiced and I can taste each ingredient of the marinade. The chicken is also flame broiled so it has these great bits of char around the skin. The rice and peas are a perfect cook and soak all the juices of the chicken. Vegetables were a staple for a plate like this. I got this as a treat for myself after finals so it was quick, affordable, yet felt very celebratory in how delicious this was! Must go again!

It hurts to have to write this review. I really had high expectations of Jerk at Nite and was thoroughly disappointed. I went after I completed my engagement shoot and treated my brother and cousins for tagging along. I spent $170 in total and had the opportunity to taste various menu items to include the salmon, jerk wings, Mac n cheese, plantains and my meal. I was immediately disappointed when they advised they did not have any oxtail and it was still fairly early in the day (2pm). There was a wait for our order however, when we received it, everything was very lukewarm. The rice was hard and under cooked. The dishes lacked flavor. The jerk chicken tasted dry and curry chicken was mushy/overcooked. The Mac n cheese was the best thing I tasted and even that was lacking. I am hoping it was an off day and will give the Baltimore location a try eventually.

Chileee i'll never turn down Jerk at Nite. Spare of the moment. They had just opened at 6pm. Service was pretty fast. Food was 100/10 per usual. REAL JERK! I always love coming to this location for the cute cozy ambiance.

Excellent hours, especially for Saturday night. They know how to make a killing and have a crowd of people take out outside of the venue. This is arguably better than typical convenience store food. Not many drink options (pepsi, orange soda, water) and not sure how the salmon would come out here. From a foodie critic standpoint, considering the price point, I didn't see a bathroom for the public (maybe hiding but hard to see) and there is a tipping jar (not crazy about tip jars where a waiter or waitress type service isn directly involved.). Overly loud music sometimes while waiting in line and hard to hear order number when the music is blaring. Also I just noticed I was charged $24 but the jerk box n mac says $11.80 on the menu. I only added a can of pepsi. Either update your prices properly or charge people properly . Big difference and I can't go back and ask because I am too far driving wise. It shouldn't even come to this point. Maybe I should've been tipped off when a concert stranger here was trying to get me on acid. I had to look it up to check but acid is LSD which is a strong strain of weed if I looked that up right. Appears legal but not my thing. Plus I'd have to navigate the side effects and some people don't take those things seriously enough.

Had a taste for some Caribbean food and Jerk At Nite had been on my list. My wife and I swing by and there wasn't a long wait. We placed our order and 15 minutes later it was ready. I had the Jerk Box' N Mac. The Mac N Cheese is a bit spicy but I liked it. You could taste the jerk chicken seasoning mixed in. The chicken was a tad cold but good nonetheless. 1 thigh and two large drums. The bread on the other hand was dry. My wife ordered the Kingston Kurry Chicken. It was delicious as well but a tad salty for her. She did say that you could definitely taste the cilantro. We ended up eating it all and I'd definitely return. Good spot, quick food. Works for me.

I could place an order either at the kiosk or at the register with the lady, and I just went with whichever came first. Easy! And then I waited for my order... they don't have buzzers, and when it's loud, it's impossible to hear your order number unless you're standing around. Given what I was doing, I couldn't do that, and I was just hoping to hear it from where I was sitting at the time. But I didn't lol -- I just happened to walk up and it was ready after I checked in on it. Buzzers, some screen or something would be helpful. Anyways, the tacos were delicious and it's nice to see they're still around and doing well. I owe the College Park location a visit since they were forced to relocate.

Like excuse me, you are going to just keep my money? I believe that is illegal. So I gave her a chance to redeem the .50 cents by buying a drink. She did take .50 cents off. I know this sounds petty but I put $2 in the tip jar the least you can do is give me my correct change, I don't think that is asking for too much. My receipt says Katherine P was working the register. I think she needs to learn how to give proper change or at least communicate to the customers you have no change before they give you cash. El Presidente knows exactly how to look the part. Whether it delivers on the substance behind the…read morestyle is a more complicated answer. El Presidente is a festive, neo-retro Mexican eatery anchored inside DC's Union Market District, built around the theater of going out. And the theater is real -- the interiors are dramatic, intentional, and genuinely photogenic. We arrived with a reservation, were checked in with minimal wait, and were seated smoothly. The front-of-house experience was efficient and the waiter was personable throughout. I was craving a frozen piña colada and asked the waiter specifically about coconut flavor before ordering. He recommended the Piña Piña, which arrived in a festive shark cup -- a fun, unexpected touch that set an optimistic tone. Unfortunately the drink itself didn't follow through. Rum was the dominant note by a wide margin, with pineapple running a distant second. Coconut was essentially absent. When the waiter returned and I mentioned the disappointment, he offered to swap it out -- a gracious move that I appreciated even though I declined. The spirit was right; the execution from the bar wasn't. We ordered the classic guacamole, the tuna ceviche, and the cucarachas as starters. The classic guac was the clear standout -- well-seasoned, balanced, and exactly what a guacamole should be. The ceviche featured an interesting white coconut sauce that was visually striking and genuinely curious in flavor, though it didn't fully cohere for our table. The tacos were our main event across the three of us, and while they were fine, nothing about them demanded a return visit. For a restaurant billing itself on heirloom ingredients and regional Mexican technique, the tacos felt underwhelming against the ambition of the concept. The noise level was the other significant issue. The room was loud to the point where conversation with friends sitting directly next to me required real effort. That level of ambient noise at dinner crosses from energetic into fatiguing -- and for a restaurant leaning heavily into the experience side of dining, the acoustic experience actively works against it. El Presidente markets itself around the theater of going out, and that framing is honest -- the decor investment is visible everywhere. But a beautiful room only carries so much weight when the food doesn't match the price point or the ambition behind it. The guacamole and the waiter's attentiveness are genuine positives. The cocktail execution and the overall food quality need to close the gap with the aesthetic before this becomes a restaurant worth returning to. Meal type Dinner Price per person $40-50 Food: 3 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3 Noise level Very loud, hard to hear Group size 1 person, 2 people, 3-4 people Parking space Difficult to find parking Parking options Paid street parking, Paid parking garage
