This restaurant is a carryout restaurant with a dining area. They do not have table service. You order your food from the front counter and you can either take it and go or you can take it to their dining area to eat. The dining area has a few tables and has Caribbean music blasting throughout. Patrons getting carryout can also sit and wait in the dining area until their food is ready. You will find the menu posted on a large board on the wall. They have all your Caribbean favorites including oxtail, wings, cabbage, and curry chicken. I got wings with a side of cabbage and plantains. I had them throw in a beef patty to top my meal off. It took them about 10 to 15 to prepare my food. The food was really good. The cabbage was not your typical American cabbage, but it was still decent. The wings were very flavorful and tasted really good. The plantains were amazing. They were very sweet and had a little crunch on the edges. The beef patty was pretty good too. My meal did not disappoint. There is free street parking available in front of the restaurant and within a reasonable walking distance. The restaurant has a food truck parked out front that they use for catering gigs. If we're serving authentic Jamaican food, why are we adding cilantro? Adding cilantro to every meal is getting out of hand. I've been to Jamaica over 30 times and never seen cilantro on my food. It ruins the whole meal. Stay true to your culture, there's no reason to mix cilantro with cabbage, sprinkle it on mac and cheese, or put it on jerk chicken. And as someone allergic to cilantro, you need to list it as an ingredient on your menu to avoid serious issues. If you have a cilantro allergy, DO NOT order from here. read more

I believe I saw the jerk chicken tacos in an Instagram post and saved it to my D.C. Yelp list, and I'm glad I did!! The tacos were worth the wait coming from Houston! The flour shells were soft and crispy, the chicken was well seasoned and juicy, and the peppers/onions rounded the flavor out nicely. The cabbage was bomb, wasn't expecting much it was a pleasant surprise. The beef patty was average but solid. 9/10 overall. The inside of the restaurant was small but did have places for you to dine-in. Service didn't take a long time considering the chicken was cooked fresh, but I also went after the lunch rush around 2 pm. If it was during busy hours I'd recommending placing a pick up order. This Jamaiican Food Place is open late nights in Washington, DC. They have a food truck as well. We came here at 12a-1a to order food for a family member. The parking is challenging as there is a club within 20 feet of the restaurant. Once we found street parking, we walked up to a line of about 15 people outside then about 15 more inside. This is a good sign; people willing to wait for authentic Jamaican Food. After standing in line for 20-25mins, we ordered with the 1 person taking orders. Then, we waited another 20mins for the food to be ready. There is no room inside the establishment to sit down while you wait for your food to be ready. We got back to our place and the family member started when they realize that it just wasn't as flavorful as the truck. The feedback is that the food truck food was well marinated well seasoned and cooked much better. Also, the full menu is not available m We will stick to the food truck version of this place. My tongue is so happy right now. The seasoning is perfectly spiced and I can taste each ingredient of the marinade. The chicken is also flame broiled so it has these great bits of char around the skin. The rice and peas are a perfect cook and soak all the juices of the chicken. I was immediately disappointed when they advised they did not have any oxtail and it was still fairly early in the day (2pm). There was a wait for our order however, when we received it, everything was very lukewarm. The rice was hard and under cooked. The dishes lacked flavor. The jerk chicken tasted dry and curry chicken was mushy/overcooked. The Mac n cheese was the best thing I tasted and even that was lacking. Disclaimer: This is not about the food or this location. This is specifically about the service provided at the Capital One Arena pop up. Another stereotypical Jamaican establishment that doesn't have enough inventory of what they sell, and has rude staff to boot. Not many drink options (pepsi, orange soda, water) and not sure how the salmon would come out here. From a foodie critic standpoint, considering the price point, I didn't see a bathroom for the public (maybe hiding but hard to see) and there is a tipping jar (not crazy about tip jars where a waiter or waitress type service isn directly involved.). Overly loud music sometimes while waiting in line and hard to hear order number when the music is blaring. Also I just noticed I was charged $24 but the jerk box n mac says $11.80 on the menu. I only added a can of pepsi. Either update your prices properly or charge people properly . Big difference and I can't go back and ask because I am too far driving wise. Had a taste for some Caribbean food and Jerk At Nite had been on my list. My wife and I swing by and there wasn't a long wait. We placed our order and 15 minutes later it was ready. I had the Jerk Box' N Mac. The Mac N Cheese is a bit spicy but I liked it. You could taste the jerk chicken seasoning mixed in. The chicken was a tad cold but good nonetheless. 1 thigh and two large drums. The bread on the other hand was dry. My wife ordered the Kingston Kurry Chicken. Saw Jerk at night on Tik Tok and thought it would be a great place to try, once I arrived the host at the register told me to look at the board for the menu. Both people stated that it has a kick, but I thought I would be okay with some spice as a seasoned veteran. When I got home and took that first forkful, my senses told me how tasty this pasta was in my mouth, but then the spice kicked in, and I was like, "What the fudge?" I ordered my food through DoorDash pick up around midnight and got the di yaddie (jerk chicken, rice & peas, and cabbage) $16 and a side of their Ja'Mac and cheese $7. I wanted to try the bread puddings but they didn't have any that day. The first thing I noticed was how good the food looked, the food has top tier presentation. Sadly, the looks were definitely deceiving as the looks did not match up with the taste. The Ja'Mac and cheese was noticeably salty and was very disappointing (it wasn't good). The di yaddie came with a good amount of food (container was kinda heavy) but it was was alright for the most part: the jerk chicken was solid but didn't really have that spicy jerk taste that I expected, the cabbage was alright, and the rice & peas were decent. Overall, my food experience at jerk at nite was average at best as they severely underperformed based on the high expectations I had. I would consider their food to be AUTHENTIC Jamaican food but it's alright. I still do wish that I was able to try the bread puddings tho. Was finally able to make my way here with a friend to try out this Jamaican spot. After passing by the few times from Echostage and smelling how good it is outside, it was time to pay a visit. The Food: After looking at their menu, I landed on the "One Love Platter". which comes with two meats and two sides ($30). I chose the Oxtail and the Jerk Chicken. The Oxtail was incredibly tender, full of flavor and sauce. The Jerk Chicken was the same! Incredible flavors from their seasoning and cooked perfectly. The rice was tasteful alongside with the cabbage too. Portions are big here too, so it was well worth it. The Service: Staff are friendly here. Food went out fast. No complaints on service The Atmosphere: We wanted to sit down, but at the time (Around 8PM Saturday), they didn't allow anyone to sit inside for some reason. Which was weird since I saw some diners sitting and eating their food. However, you can order at the front with the staff. Since we traveled from Richmond, VA, we wanted to dine in; however, they were hosting a private party so the only available seating were the dirty picnic tables outside. They have a large menu posted on the wall behind where the line forms. You walk up to the person at the counter to place your order and they give you a number. The place is small so there isn't much space to stand around and wait for your order, so we waited outside. After a few minutes I went in to check on my order, but no one was at the counter. I asked the young woman who took our order where we're supposed to pick up our food, and she directed me to the empty counter. I waited a few minutes and a young lady walked up. I asked whether our order was ready and she said, "Yes, just a moment," then proceeded to organize the area behind the counter and restock loads of utensils, napkins, etc. So I waited a few more minutes, then she began bagging up our food. During that time, since the pickup counter is almost within arm's reach of the kitchen window, I watched the kitchen operate. They took a perfectly gorgeous pan of already baked mac & cheese and added heavy cream to it for creaminess. As a picky mac & cheese enthusiast, I didn't enjoy seeing that. No offense to anyone who does the same, but pouring heavy cream on mac & cheese after it's already been baked is sacrilege. Anyways, there was some miscommunication among the staff and I was told they sold out of one of the drinks we ordered, but I informed them the other woman who took our order already gave us our drinks. We gathered our food and sat outside at the cleanest table we could find. Wobbly, uncomfortable, and unstable. The pineapple ginger lemonade for some reason contained a boatload of edible glitter. The rice & peas were delicious and well seasoned. The cabbage had potential but it was on the verge of spoiling and gave me a stomachache. Omg So I've seen this place on Instagram a thousand times but figured it would be overrated because influencers like to lie but baby this food is worth every penny. 2 plates were about $50. We got the jerk wings with rice and peas and Mac and cheese, the meat is literally falling off the bones, the Mac and cheese is super creamy and cheesy just like I like and not dry. The worst Veggie Rasta Pasta I've ever tasted. It has a vinegary taste and the sauce isn't sauce at all but some cheese melted over the noodles and veggies. In addition, the dish was advertised at 20.00 dollars on Yelp but when my order was rung up I was charged 31.00 WOW!!! I told the cashier and she said this is the price. I won't be back. This food truck was around during my DC workdays -- it was them and Wi Jammin... always an exciting time, whether it was on Farragut Square or on L Street a couple blocks up. Literally an hour before my family arrived (20+ black folks) I got a call from ezCater saying it was cancelled! Pissed and nervous! Thankfully my family came through in my crisis and we figured it out and had a GREAT time. Jerk at Nite- need to do better with catering orders and letting customers know in advance. The food was good, but the service was pretty slow. The indoor space is small with limited seating, so it's not the most comfortable spot to dine in. Still, worth a visit for the food. read more

I'm sorry but I had to give a 2star. I've been to this place several times throughout the last couple years and even though the ambiance has improved...unfortunately the food quality and customer service has declined drastically. It took me over 25 min just to stand in line to get my order placed then over 30+ min to get my food. The two women working had absolutely no sense of urgency nor any care of the matter in regards to the demand that was there. And after standing there for over 30 min I had to remind them that I had an order cause they started passing out the meals to people after me. Once I got the food it was subpar and low quality. Very disappointed cause I moved away for a few years and all I talked about was how much I loved Jerk at Nite and I couldn't wait to go back to DC to get it. Really big let down. read more
