Came here with my brother for dinner - we both have never been. We ordered the chicken tomato basil ramen and Birria Mac and cheese, and a mangonada to try. Something special about their mangonada has lemonade added to it and much more tajin than chamoy. The ramen was eh - a 5/10. This is for those that really like tomatoes or want soup. It was too much for me after a couple of bites. One thing to note is that if you hate onions, let them know! Or else they will throw a heap of them on the bowl. Had a group of us go in and it was limited on space and seatings, but we were lucky enough to find 5 spots at a shared table that sat approximately 10 people. The atmosphere is fun and vibrant with colors and music. Since I am from a different region of the country, I found the flavors of this place to be more sweet than I would like down to some tacos and even the hot sauces. Overall, the food was presented well, looked appealing, but it had an overall flavor that I wasn't crazy about. I know there are plenty of different kinds of queso out there, but this one just didn't do it for me. I will say that they have some bomb churros which were cooked to perfection. Everything else was either a little sweet or really on the mild side. I tried the jalapeño hot sauce, cayenne hot sauce, and habanero hot sauce. I honestly could not tell a difference in heat level. Went for Cinco de Mayo, when we first arrived it wasn't too busy, but a line quickly started forming. We waited about 10 minutes to order, then nearly 50 minutes for our food with nowhere to sit. We even got a text saying it was ready just 10 minutes after ordering, but when we went back in, it wasn't actually ready. It was extremely crowded, and we couldn't find seating, so we ended up having to take the food to go. By the time we ate, it was a bit cold. The biscoff churros were great, the bang bang shrimp tacos were delicious! The birria rice bowl was good but I think it would've been better fresh, it was a little soggy by the time we ate it. What an interesting experience... Our first time visiting here was for Cinco de Mayo ! We heard that the food was good so we were excited to try. When we arrived, the line was so long we weren't sure if we would be able to stay. Long story short we were able to sit. Service was rather slow, but we were waiting patiently because it was so crowded and the servers were super kind. I think the attentiveness and kindness of the employees made the experience much better. The food.. was just okay. I was so excited to come try the Birria Mac n cheese. As a reviewer I would say Mac n cheese is my speciality! I love it! But unfortunately this Mac n cheese was not it at all. I would not order it again. The birria was good, the takis were a little Over powering so I'm glad they added a small amount. But the noodles and cheese itself. Just not good the most bland thing I've had. Like seriously I think Kraft Mac n cheese would have had more flavor. I stopped at this location for lunch and was directed to order at the kiosk. Only one of the two was working and I ended up waiting behind a guy who took forever to place his order. An employee came over to hand menus to those of us waiting. When I asked about the broken machine, he did something to get it back up and running. I placed my order on the kiosk after the delay and got a text on my phone telling me my order would be ready in 15 minutes. My order was ready right on time! Calling this food, "Mexican Food" is offensive to anyone even with just a slight tan. After my first bite, I immediately questioned my entire heritage. My favorite part of the whole experience, was leaving. Even my Asian friend who was with me, knew something was wrong. To be fair, there were warning signs. So this spot is definitely a vibe. If you're looking for some real fancy or authentic mexican food this is not it - also if you're looking for just another Dos Toros or Chipotle this is not it. I was finally able to come here in the weekend and enjoy some good halal Mexican food. They have many options but we stuck with birria tacos, birria Ramen, stacked wrap and chicken nachos for meals and Oreo churro for dessert along couple of Jarrito for the drinks. Talkin' Tacos came across my social media timeline and there was one taco on their page that stood out to me the most which was the Caribbean Carne Taco. I was curious to taste a taco with steak and sweet plantain drizzled over avocado sauce on a corn tortilla. I got ahold of my Taco Tuesday friend and we took the trip to DC to try it. We circled the block for parking on this Saturday day trip but ended up in the garage right next to the building. It was $11 to park and they don't validate. Walking in, you see 2 ipad kiosks and put in your order. My friend and I wanted to customize so the friendly manager Jimmy assisted us. We went a little crazy trying a few items I'll highlight later. Once you pay, find a table quick because it fills up fast and then they bring the food to you. Heads up to margarita lovers- there is no alcohol. My friend was a little sad about it but the food and the friendly service made up for it. We ordered our own custom trio of tacos, guacamole and chips, street corn in a cup, fries and 2 strawberry lemonades. Everything was flavorful 10/10 and service by Jimmy, Alejandro and Sam were 10/10. They checked on every table all the time, no 1 had to get up for anything. I ordered the birria quesadilla and when I say it was huge, I mean HUGE. Not only was the portion generous, but it was packed with flavor in every bite. This place came highly recommended and so I had to try it for myself! One thing to note immediately is that the meat is halal (huge pull factor for one of my friends). We came in on a Thursday evening and it was packed. The place was a decent size, but every single table was taken; we got lucky that one family left as we were looking for seating - the staff cleaned up the table pretty quickly. When you come in, you place an order at the kiosk or at the counter. From there, you are provided a number and sit at an open table, where your food and drinks will then be brought out to you. They had a great selection of tacos (and other items), but I decided to go the basic route by ordering carne asada. Nonetheless, my tacos were good! So some will get their entries before others. The food itself was hot, fresh and flavorful. Our group really enjoyed these tacos. In my group's opinion, not as good as Orlando "Gas Station" but still darn good and making me sure as heck wanting more!!!! All in all this was a really good find and I strongly recommend this place! Great spot for grabbing late-night (or near late-night) Tex-mex bites. I stopped by Talking Tacos to grab some tacos and one last drink for the road (or rather for the metro). Ordering is kiosk-based so that makes life a bit simple. For my order, I went with the Bang Bang Shrimp tacos, a regular order of churros, and an order of Oreo churros. Note, I was bring the churros home for the family. ;) I wanted to "supplement"my tacos with a margarita, but the restaurant does not serve alcohol. That was not really a deal-breaker for me since I was arriving from another bar. Service was pretty fast because I received my tacos in about 10-15 minutes. To some that might seem like a long time for tacos, but the restaurant was pretty full during my visit. Overall, I thought my tacos were very delicious, and they were packed pretty heavy with "bang bang" shrimp. Customer service was on point. Compared to other taco spots (more of the in-and-out type of places), I thought the prices were pretty fair. At first, I was a bit shocked by the prices of the churros (around 8 bucks). However, my attitude changed for the better when I saw that the churros were long (about 6 inches), and 5-7 churros were provided. Note if you order the churros to go or order them through delivery, I highly recommend reheating them preferable with an air fryer or in the oven at home. When we tried the churros cold, they were "meh". However, they were 100% tastier and richer after throwing them in the air fryer for a couple of minutes.
