Cool taco place with an awesome vibe. Had the carne asada and upgraded to the pork belly.

An unexpected find near Dupont Circle a short walkfrom the The O Museum. Easy to miss spot on the lower level. Don't blink! Fast and very very l casual with a counter and a few high tables. Service was quick and friendly for a mid-afternoon lunch. We were happy to see such a variety on the menu. Each taco was freshly prepared as we waited: Oyster Mushroom (special on the menu) Blackened Salmon Island Fish Jerk Chicken Coconut Shrimp The flavors were spot on. We took ours to go and the tacos were carefully packed. Resonably priced as well! They get 4 stars instead of 5 for the casual divey atmosphere but beyond that, highly recommended!

Ever since falling in love with proper Hawaiian poke a few years ago, I've been on the hunt for good (semi-) traditional Hawaiian food that doesn't come with a $1K plane ticket. Tiki Taco has absolutely filled this niche with their poke; unlike the poke we generally find on mainland US, their poke just has rice and fish. The hot, slightly sticky rice pairs perfectly with the huge chunks of cool salmon or tuna, flavored with a variety of mix-ins. I usually opt for their traditional blend, but it does err a touch salty, so I would recommend bringing a bottle of water with you or ordering their Hawaiian shaved ice to round out the meal. While I originally came to Tiki Taco for their poke, their namesake, the tacos, is just as exciting; they have a wide variety of tasty fusion tacos that are just absolutely massive. Each taco is probably a meal in and of itself, but each one is so amazing that it's impossible to stop at just one. I'm especially fond of their shrimp tacos, but you honestly can't go wrong with any of them. And if you have a sweet tooth, their malasadas (Hawaiian donuts) are a wonderful way to end the meal; they're fried to golden perfection, but are gloriously soft and pillowy on the inside. The donuts go perfectly with their rich dark chocolate sauce, which is decadent but not overly sweet. All in all, truly can't recommend this hole-in-the-wall spot enough! The food is simple yet delicious, and the staff is remarkably friendly and helpful! If you're craving a quick / easy bite or just want to experience a little bit of Hawaii, definitely recommend giving Tiki Taco a try!

My family and I were looking for a dinner spot in the Georgetown area and saw Tiki Taco on Yelp. It was a 10 minute walk from our hotel, traversing through the beautiful neighborhoods. We were able to place our order right away. Food arrived in a short amount of time. Everyone loved their respective orders. I could have eaten another serving of the pokè but wanted to save room for dessert. I'm so happy I did! The lemon meringue pie is out of this world! I highly recommend Tiki Taco. It is a neighborhood gem.

Tacos are HUGE and bursting with flavor. The kalua pork taco is a beautiful contrast of savory, smoky, and a hint of sweet from the pineapple; it is an absolute must have. While the location is of modest decor, Ben has gone out of his way to deliver food that is unquestionably cooked with aloha at an incredibly affordable price. Thank you for the wonderful conversations and for the splendid bites, Ben!

Well first let me say, it's worth your pretty penny. We got the jerk chicken burrito and 3 tacos (chickpea, papaya salad and jerk chicken) the burrito was an explosion of flavors that paired well with the sour cream on the side but could've had a lil more. (See pic) the tacos were quite delicious. I LOVE ME A CREATIVE TACO!!! It didn't take long to get our food and relatively quick and easy. If you're hungry and nearby you should definitely try it out. I NEEEEED to try the coconut shaved ice one day #soon. The vibe underneath was inviting and spacious (lots of stools and the menus are so cute) I loved the location. Come please!! So good. Meow

I literally stumbled on this basement joint while walking by for another appointment. I stopped by after that appointment because tacos sounded good; I was very surprised and happy to find that any of these tacos are either island or Asian inspired. I ordered the pork belly (kimchi cabbage, tomato, avocado, shoyu glaze), Kailua pork (water cress and pineapple salsa), and kalbi (sesame watercress namul , hoisin crema) tacos on flour tortillas. I also indulged and ordered the Portuguese malasadas. From one islander to another, thank you. I'm looking forward to coming back and bringing family to this place when they're in town.

We ordered 4 tacos- coconut shrimp, oyster mushroom, blackened salmon, and sesame tofu. The oyster mushroom one was so good! The others were good too but the mushroom taco was memorable. Definitely worth it! We also ordered three pokes- spicy poke, original poke, and shoyu. The fish was fresh and the different sauces were tasty. It came with plenty of rice. It's a small place where you order at the counter. When we left, the place was full of people waiting to get their food. A must go to hole in the wall place

We walked from our hotel looking for something to catch our eye that was unique with good reviews. We found Tiki Taco. It's literally a hole in the wall (well in a basement) with some indoor and outdoor dining. They had specials posted and a regular menu. They also serve shaved ice and it was warm enough to give that a try too. The shaved ice was good, typical. For dinner, I had the 2 handed taco with pork and chicken. The taco itself was flavorful and it was filled with meat. It was so good and I really enjoyed it! My husband enjoyed 3 tacos, and they were all good. His fave was the Kalua pork. At the table we also had a burrito and another set of 3 tacos. 4 STARS! Decent service, seating was good enough, and everything tasted good and was filling.

El Silencio Mezcal margarita - the liquor is definitely silent in this drink, so the name is appropriate :-/

Stopped in for a drink while pet-sitting for a friend. Service was quick and friendly. The environment is definitely fun and energetic, my drink, not so much. I ordered the El Silencio Mezcal margarita....it tastes like watered-down lemonade with a drop of Mezcal in it, so the name is appropriate. Welp, that did it for me - my day-drinking here has officially ended. Definitely won't be returning for drinks or otherwise, unless treated.

My family and I were looking for a quick bite and came across this little hole in the wall. I was pleasantly surprised by the portions for the tacos, and restaurant staff were very kind. Prices are reasonable! A very solid lunchtime option overall.

good local find! i have been told as a californian that DC tacos weren't good but so happy to have been able to try this place. Inside gives humble vibes, they played really great music, and the food was incredibly yummy!!!! i got three tacos: pork belly, jerk chicken and coconut shrimp. The coconut shrimp was my fave, pork belly nice and tender, jerk chicken kind of tasted like kahlua pork but still yummy regardless. Will definitely visit again!

We went in right as they opened, on a Friday at 5 pm, and there was already a line! The reservations were full, but we were offered a seat either at the bar or outside. Luckily it was a beautiful day so we took a seat outside. They started us off with a sweet hibiscus flavored juice as a palate cleanser which was super refreshing. The left side of the menu had appetizers and shareables, while the right side had entrees. We ordered the short rib tacos, pork belly, wagyu empanadas, and seafood enchiladas. Everything had a beautiful bright orange sauce on it and made it look like it would be spicy but it wasn't! I think it's their signature guajillo sauce and it was VERY good, super creamy. Seafood enchiladas: This was my fav. Might have been because it was extremely hungry and it was my first bite. Definitely best when eaten warm, as the cheese is gooiest and the seafood inside is hot. I wasn't sure how the salad was going to be but it added a perfect refreshing and acidity to balance out the creamy sauce. Wagyu empanadas: Much gooey-er and cheesier than expected, but also a hit! Came with a decent amount of beef inside. Comes with the orange sauce and a chimichurri, which I think was a good idea because given how cheesy and creamy the filling already was, the chimichurri was a nice balance as well. Pork belly: Melts as soon as you cut into it. The Asian in me low key wanted a giant bowl of rice with this so that I could soak up all the sauce and veggies. Pretty fatty so if you're not a fan of that you might not like this. Short rib tacos: These were loaded, not with meat but with tons of crunchy topping (maybe fried carrots?) Could have done with slightly less crunch but overall still good. The orange sauce on the bottom had a peanuty flavor which I thought added a unique kick. Also, we were surprised at how quickly the food came out. We were in and out in under an hour. Our server Rebecca was also extremely nice. Will def be back if in the area. Highly recommend all around!

The service was ok, we had to tell our server we weren't seeing him enough, there's a 2 hour limit and we weren't getting a chance to order more drinks. After that he kept the drinks coming. WARNING! You DO NOT get to choose what items you want from the ayce brunch menu, they bring every single dish out and they do it at a pace that you barely get a chance to enjoy anything. Every dish is loaded with fillers and barely any meat. Every dish has a similar flavor of chilli, lime and cilantro. I say this with the upmost respect to this restaurant, the only good thing about the brunch were the churros and they don't give you that until you're ready to leave. The chicken and waffles were almost good but the sauce on the chicken with the waffle just ruins it. The steak and eggs were ok and you only get a 1oz piece of steak. Birria tacos were just ok and the fish taco was ok. Everything else was not worth it. A lot of items went to waste. If we could've chose exactly what we wanted, it might have been better. This would also add to why the service did not start off well because our server gave us our first drink and left. After that, every item from the brunch menu were just getting dropped off by food runners. It became overwhelming. We didn't even have room on the table for all of that. Then we also had to ask for new plates because we did not want to mix the flavors of every dish. The drinks were also not good, I had margaritas for my drink of choice and they are so sour and filled with cheap tequila... respectfully for 70$ a person you're better off ordering à la carte. The restaurant is beautiful though, great for pictures and the food is colorful as well but the flavors are just not that good and you're ultimately paying for a bunch of food that you don't really even want nor enjoy. I really hope they adjust this because I heard it was 10x better in the past.
