I really wish I could get Key my absolute favorite go to happy spot for food and drinks as a DC native. This spot has been popping for so long. I'm actually upset that it's on social media because it's a little bit busier now but that's good news for the business. The service is always quick and easy very welcoming. The obvious is your typical Mexican restaurant. They do have outdoor seating which is a plus, but really this review is about the drinks and the food just go.

I had the shrimp-chicken-steak taco trio, and each protein was well-seasoned and cooked just right. The tortillas were warm and fresh

Las Placitas is one of those neighborhood gems that keeps drawing me back--not because it's fancy or trendy, but because it delivers hearty, flavorful food in a laid-back, welcoming setting. I recently visited and was impressed by both the food and the atmosphere. We started with the pupusas revueltas (pork, beans, and cheese) and they were spot-on--crispy outside, gooey inside, and served with plenty of curtido and salsa roja. A must-try. The yuca con chicharrón was another standout--crispy, savory, and paired well with the pickled cabbage. Before I could take a picture of my drink it was gone .. the drinks were the reason I came but the food stole my heart . The service was amazing very friendly & welcoming

Getting Mexican/Salvadoran food anywhere else feels like cheating. Las Placitas is a family run business that's been in DC for years and I would protect it with my LIFE! Their food is incredible (guac is so fresh and margs are amazing). The staff is so kind and welcoming! I've never seen anyone walk out looking disappointed. Outdoor patio seating is awesome for warm days. I'm so sad to be moving out the neighborhood and not have Las Plas a few steps away. Las Placitas, please make some merchandise, I need it! We love you! -Dasha and Chris

This place is a hidden gem. Hidden in between navy yard and eastern market. The food is affordable. The space gives classic vibes. The service is amazing and the drinks will get you nice. The chicken enchiladas were delicious and the rice and beans as well. The red snapper was fried perfectly. It came with a side salad with plenty of avocados and cucumbers for a nice refreshing combo.

Strawberry Margarita: I got "on the rocks" with a small amount of frozen on top and it was great. Didn't really taste the alcohol so if that's a requirement for you, you won't like it. Ceviche - more like a raw salad. Not bad but not my favorite Service: meh. I tried to order something and had to wait good amount of time before someone served me. Weird because to go orders were coming out pretty fast.

This is my second visit to this restaurant and again it Was an experience. The staff is so pleasant and welcoming. I ordered the steak, shrimp fajita and it was good. We ordered 3 Don Julio reposada Tequila pitchers and they are very good. We sat outside again, you have to sit outside when going it's a nice experience. The waiter gave us all 2 rounds of tequila shots. I will definitely return again soon!

Las Placitas is an unassuming hole in the wall that serves excellent food and has excellent service. I came here once years ago, and came once again recently and was blown away. They start you off with complementary chips and salsa. I got the soap de res, which is a veggie and short rib soup which was extremely flavorful. It also comes with tortillas and rice, so it really fills you up. The beef was nice and tasty, the veggies were nice and crispy, and the broth was excellent. You could literally add noodles and turn it into a delicious ramen bowl. I highly recommend this place.

We ordered the following: + Papusas (Pork and Cheese & Loroco and Cheese) - Decent, although I prefer the Loroco (an edible flower bud). + Pollo à la Primavera (chicken dish) - Yummy, especially the sauce which mixes well with their hot/spicy sauce too! I could do without the salad dressing. + Camarones con Calabeza (shrimp dish) - Same as above! Note they leave the tails on. + Natural Juices (Mango and Maranon) - So refreshing! I loved the Maranon (cashew apple) was a wonderful burst of tropical sweetness with a subtle nutty taste. I appreciate that for the pupusas they had the foresight to provide my partner and I two plates so we could sphere the papusas. The portion sizes of the entrees were great for the price. It did take a while for the staff to swing by so that we could get boxes and the check. Note that credit cards and mobile pay are accepted. I definitely wouldn't mind coming back again to try more items on their menu.

This place is located in a convenience store, so when you're approaching the address, it's not very obvious that this place is located inside due to the lack of signage. This place has limited hours and I believe they open early for breakfast and close at 4:00 p.m. I originally wanted to call in my order, but didn't see a decent menu online and/or prices, so I made my way there. I got there maybe about 20 minutes before they closed as I saw the chairs up on top of the tables in their seating area. I immediately just ordered the carne asada tacos, the pork pupusas and the cheese pupusa. I took it to go, brought it inside my car and because I didn't eat lunch and it was almost dinner time, I literally picked up the cheese pupusa and ate it in my car. It was piping hot and delicious. I didn't even put the little salad / hot sauce on top as I was really hungry. Overall it was really good. Of course, I moved on to the taco and thought it was kinda small, but thought to myself I should have ordered one more. I think it was comparable to the price that I paid, but for someone that was hungry I knew that maybe four wouldn't not be enough but thankfully the pupusas filled me up. I didn't finish my food completely as I drove home because I wanted to really sit down and try the food. My overall feedback on the tacos is to probably ask them to make my tacos medium rare if at all possible. Secondly, I would probably order at least five and maybe four pupusas. I think that would satisfy my craving and I would be full. I love supporting small businesses so if you are in the area, please stop by and try out this place.
