It's a neighborhood restaurant, serving delicious hearty Tex-Mexican food., the restaurant has Mexican villa feeling, food is very good, full of flavor, staff are sweet and efficient. The plates are big, pretty shareable, great place for families. I highly recommend it

    Shrimp Fajitas

For a small restaurant, I was blown away by the taste of the food. I came with a group of 10 and immediately they were accommodating. I ordered the shrimp fajitas, and the non-alcoholic strawberry daiquiri. I was pleasantly surprised at how good everything was. The shrimp fajitas came out sizzling and they smoked infused sauce on my shrimp and the grilled veggies were heavenly. I would highly recommend more people check out this gem in DC

    Marinated Beef Tacos

Food was very tasty. Guacamole was made fresh and tasty. The marinated beef tacos were stellar. Regular margarita pitcher was good. Mango frozen margarita was phenomenal & strong. We were the only table in the restaurant so service was great. And we got free tequila shots!! Great local spot.

Food is authentic Mexican for sure. Atmosphere is great and authentic. Food is excellent. Service is great and fast. This was thickest quesadilla I have ever had, purely delicious.

    Seafood enchiladas

I ordered La Lomita via Uber Eats. The food arrived hot and was tasty. I was very happy that they were not stingy with the dressing the restaurant sent along with the salad. The seafood enchilada had a seafood mix where I wasn't sure what seafood was used but I'm sure it was seafood because I'm pescatarian and didn't get sick. The refried beans were salty but mixed with the rice I was able to stomach it. I will be ordering again and would recommend this restaurant!

Chicken tacos but the shells were soggy
    Cynderella H.

One, the quality of the food was OK. I'm sure eating inside the restaurant is cheaper than delivery. Many things I requested didn't happened and I had to pay extra for tortillas when they placed them on the beef tacos. The crispy shells were so soggy they fell apart and was uneaten. I asked for the pics de gallo on the side because again it's the most moist thing in transit. Nothing came in little plastic condiment cups, it was all inside with the tacos. I will try inside the restaurant and come back later but this was just OK for me.

However, the waitress was excellent with providing order recommendations and ensuring that we were taken care of. Drinks: I ordered the ranch water which wasn't anything spectacular. Just a simple non-sugary drink to enjoy while dining. I opted out of the fajitas but the rest of my party loved the steak and shrimp fajitas, which were part of the fajitas 2 deal. Plenty to share and I heard that the steak was cooked to perfection and the shrimp was seasoned well. I ordered the taco salad and that dish was PHENOMENAL! There is something to be said about a wet salad which manages to hold some crunchy texture to the taco strips. Also, it was perfectly chopped and all ingredients were mixed together so well. To complete the dish, I ordered a side of rice and chicken. Both were delicious but the chicken portion could use some work. Overall I'm curious to try their breakfast tacos so count me in on returning! They also offer a great happy hour so I recommend stopping by to enjoy their bar or even their cute outdoor seating.

Idk how this is possible but it was my first time having chilaquiles and huevos rancheros so I don't have a reference point but either way I thought they were great. The steak con huevo was the best and the avocado huarache toast con huevo ties with the French toast for second place. The only thing we weren't huge fans of were the churros but I get the feeling we were approaching our limit by the time we made it to those. I really enjoyed the size of the menu which gave plenty of options to sample just like I like, but without getting too overwhelmed. However, I made an exception on this trip because Santa Rosa Taqueria is a restaurant by Spike Mendelsohn, who competed on Top Chef many years ago. We shared all three. I didn't particularly enjoy the shrimp, (it was fried) on the nachos, but everything else was delicious! Loved their green sauce and their red had a real kick. I tried one of their cranberry margaritas. O M Gee. That was the strongest margarita I have ever had.
