    Jerk chicken wings

Delivery Order Absolutely not it. Today (10/09) I ordered the combo of jerk bbq wings and curry chicken. With all my reviews you all know I don't play about my food. I asked for no cabbage because frankly I don't like it, and to add whatever they want. Well I received one slice of lcarrot. The rice was tough, could have been cooked longer. The rice was extremely dry as well. In the notes, I asked for brown gravy to be added over the rice.. (nothing) The curry chicken: it's curry in color with little flavor and after the top layer, all you taste is dark meat chicken. The chicken however was tender. The jerk chicken.. very flavorful but.... DRY AND OVERCOOKED! I wondeAbout half of the chicken was like this and the other half was hard. I also purchased a cube of honey bun rum cake, it was good, but a tad pricey, but that's the going rate nowadays. The combo meal was $25 and the honey bun rum cake was about $4.25

This is a great spot for affordable dishes with large portion. I ordered the jerk chicken which was really spicy and hot. I would come back for the beef patties.

For some good Jamaican cuisine this restaurant is a good choice. I've been a patron here for three years now due to location convenience. When it comes to Caribbean cuisine in the DMV you either will know of a great place which will have a word-of-mouth reputation or on the other hand a restaurant which all others fall in the category of "good". Please understand, just "good" isn't a bad thing when it comes to Jamaican or Caribbean food because the recipes are difficult to botch and it seems the Jamaican restaurants in the DMV have cooks and management with knowledge of authentic cooking practices. The reason it is generally hard for an unknowing person to have a bad Jamaican cuisine experience is because if you don't have a palate for Jamaican food you'll probably independently or though recommendation opt for the known staples such as rice and peas, jerk chicken, plantain, vegetables and etc. which are all safe choices. The difference maker are the other, more traditional cuisines which locals and loyal customers may have come to enjoy due to frequent visits and curiosity. Caribbean Grill falls into the category of good. I've never had a big issue with dishes such as their oxtail, jerk or brown stew chicken however I do wish they didn't load the dish with the actual "stew" the meats are simmered in which creates a soggy mess for the rice and other sides like vegetables. This and the often consistent saltiness of stewed dishes like brown stew chicken and oxtail. The flavor is good but there is a fine line with salt which can sometimes ruin a dish. We've all been guilty of being a little heavy handed with the salt at one time or another. Otherwise this is a decent restaurant if you want to get your Jamaican fix. The coco bread is very good and also the fried plantains which are always a hit.

I placed an order on Uber eats & the FOOD WAS HORRIBLE!!!!!!! Chicken was OBVIOUSLY raw. I called & I guess I spoke with the manager. The man is gonna tell me all the dark meat comes pink/red like that. No matter how much you cook it that's the color. Then gonna say if I ask for dark meat at Popeyes it's the same thing, all dark meat is like that. I have never gotten no shit from Popeyes like that. I must got CLOWN written on my forehead cause what in the ACTUAL FUCK! Oxtails was TRASH rice & cabbage tasted spoiled! NEVER AGAIN

This food needs seasoning. I am starving so I drank most of the soup, it felt like I drank chicken broth with no seasoning... a Maggie packet could not save this! AND The dumpling was mushy, it either was not knead properly or too much water was used to make it. I wasted my money on this dish

We got delivery on a Friday evening to DC and everything came super quickly! I got the Jerk Chicken Salad (Large with No Dressing because it had enough flavor on its own) and I was delighted - the chicken was fresh and well seasoned and they did not skimp on it! Veggies were also fresh. My fiance go the Jerk BBQ Wings (Large). The rice and peas were perfect and the cabbage was amazing. We both have good appetites and still had leftovers. With the service fees, delivery fees, and tip the total was $31.72 (would have been about $20 for takeout).

Food was great! Never had had it before and was looking for some good food before I headed back to northern Virginia. Service was quick even when I walked in and ordered. If ever nearby I will be stopping by.

Period…read more I've been seeing this place all over social media, so when I found myself in the area, I had to see what the hype was about. First off, parking is easy. It's in a shopping center, so nothing stressful there, and the restaurant itself is easy to spot. Walking in, the first thing I noticed was how clean, polished, and classy everything looked. Even though it was busy, it didn't feel chaotic. The staff immediately greeted me and asked if it was my first time which I appreciated. They didn't just rush me through the line; they actually took time to explain the menu, how the bowls are built, and offered samples. That alone made the experience feel welcoming and intentional. Now let's get into the FOOD. Everything looked fresh. They have about four rice options (which is already a win), and I went with the pineapple coconut rice. For my protein, I chose grilled chicken, but they also offer shrimp, salmon, and even a mushroom option for vegetarians and honestly, the mushrooms looked so good I almost switched. For my added sides, I kept it simple because I really wanted to taste everything. Collard greens and sweet potatoes. But they also had plantains, and okra....real deal soul food options. Then you get into the fresh toppings. Slaws, carrots, pickled veggies. I kept it light. I finished my bowl with collard green pesto (which intrigued me, and I'm glad I tried it) and added an étouffée sauce over my rice... and listen!!!!! That combo? Chef's kiss. I grabbed a tropical punch juice, and just like everything else, it tasted fresh and well-made. Let me say this clearly: the food is a 10/10. If you're someone who will give Chipotle chance after chance, then you absolutely owe it to yourself to try Spice Black. 10/10. Worth your money. Worth the hype. Worth the experience.

The restaurant is nicely decorated with vibrant colors and very clean. The service is friendly and welcoming. The food was okay. Not bad and just good in my opinion. Its not rave worthy but its still good. I would come back and try other options. This is still a good healthier option oppose to the many of terrible choices we have to choose from, this beats most unhealthy fast foods restaurants. For that reason I would return to try other food options. If you like chickpeas then this is your meal, Im not so it threw off the salad to me. I would have preferred chicken. Honestly, everything came together nicely as one salad, nothing was over powering. I'm just not a fan of chickpeas. They do have an option for shrimp but dont eat bottom feeders so that wasn't an option for me. My tastebuds are much different from yours so I would still give it a try. You might like it a little more than me. Its still a fairly good meal.

The brown stew chicken was cooked perfectly, and I was pleasantly surprised by the mac & cheese. Usually I avoid mac&cheese at Caribbean restaurants, but this one tasted as good as it looked. Get the beef patties. Crust is perfect, and so is the filling. Avoid the curry shrimp patty! After a couple bites, I noticed I wasn't tasting any shrimp. I decided to have a taste adventure and learn what a Jamaican Black cake was. Not a bad decision! Loved it. This cake tastes like Christmas! I'm thinking it's a dark rum that they use along with delicious fruits in the cake. You can really taste the marzipan, as well. How lovely! There is nothing plain about the unassuming Butter Rum cake. It is somehow flavorful, dense and rich while still maintaining a lighter flavor. Now onto the juices. Get them. Get 6. Get 12. We tasted the Pineapple Ginger. Meow meow meow meow meow. The Cherry Guava Ginger juice is so warming - ie ginger that brings much heat - and I love it. They have authentic Jamaican dishes here and I've tried and enjoyed the Chicken Roti long ago. I'd love to come back for the seafood dishes. They have many varieties of patties with coco bread.
