Reliable, great, Caribbean food. I love that they have a variety of patties. Last visit, I got the curried shrimp. Nice-sized shrimp, but the rice soaked up all the curry. The shrimp didn't have the sauce or flavor I was expecting. Consider serving the shrimp in a separate leak-resistant container? The visit prior, I had oxtail. Delicious! Everything was packed neatly and securely. I love eating here when in the area. They now have a rewards program!

Oxtail beans and rice with plantains. Yummy

The staff was not friendly but the food was delicious. The food was warm. Seasoned properly and nice size portions.

It was clean inside and service was quick. I ordered the curry chicken meal and a rum cake. The meal was very good. Not the best I've had, but not bad. Next time I will ask for less rice. The rum cake was ok, but not good enough to get again.

I purchased a Fried Red Snapper Dinner and two beef patties. The beef patties were extremely thin and disappointing, but the red snapper, and rice and peas were delicious. I highly recommend and will definitely return! There really is no seating and always a line. Place your order in advance online to lessen the wait and get coupons.

The inside was remodeled fairly recently, so it's a bit more spacious and nicely decorated. Their patties and chicken soup are both really good. Lots of patty options, but I usually get jerk chicken or beef. The customer service is really my only complaint. I called to order while i was at another store in the plaza, but they said I had to come in to order. I went in just for soup and 4 patties and had to wait 25 minutes. Before I got my order, they started cleaning up as it was close to closing time. Someone was putting together patties for the staff to take home and asking who and who wanted to take what. I don't understand why that couldn't have been done after everyone standing there waiting was served. Once I finally got my order , the lady had to chase me out because she forgot 2 of the 4 patties.

I haven't been to this location in a long while!!. The New Renovations are pretty and very welcoming in color. The customer service was pleasant and friendly. Ordered 2 Curried Chicken Lunch Specials, 2 Roti Skins and 1 Spicy Beef Patty. The chicken was tender and authentically CURRIED. other places I've been you taste a hit or two of curry but Negril!! they don't skimp on the heavy-handed curry that curry flavor is all through there honey lemme tell you!! Don't go anywhere else lol, the curry, the Rice & peas! The side of cabbage it's seasoned and cooked just right!! The portions are hefty so I ate some and saved the rest!!. The Roti Skin was tough or stale idk but wasn't soft or easily to pull apart as this was my first time trying from Negril. Nevertheless heat it and soak it in curry gravy!!!, nonetheless I'll return when I'm in the area again! Just won't get the roti, glad I tried it to know for next time!!

I decided to try this restaurant and honestly What a disappointment. I ordered 2 entrees, extra sides and an appetizer. Our waitress, Ivie F brought 12 pieces of wings when we ordered when we only ordered 6 as per the menu. Once we brought it to her attention she said sternly "well I heard 12" and walked away. What kind of service is this? I ordered the following menu items: Oxtails- 1out of 5 very watered down, sauce extremely dark and flavorless Jerk wings- 2 out of 5 Callaloo- 4 out of 5 very hard to find vegetable here in the US. This was very well prepared String beans -3 out of 5 Fish- 3 out of 5 nice presentation but overcooked/ dry Festival- 2 out of 5 Lemon drop- 3 out of 5 The food didn't taste authentic nor traditional. The flavors felt watered down, too much sauce or just plain salty. My husband (originally from Jamaica) who owns a Jamaican restaurant in another state figured he would help a fellow Jamaican out by giving some tips. The manager explained that the people in Maryland like it this way but he wouldn't cook it like this at home! Lol I've never heard such a response as a Caribbean restaurant you should take pride in authenticity always. I highly doubt with this experience I will be back.

I joined a group of about 8 friends for D&G's karaoke night on a Friday from 6-9pm…read more The karaoke itself was fun, even if there were just a few groups of tables participating. There is a small tv on one half of the restaurant that displayed lyrics while performers and the karaoke set up stood close to the entrance. The space felt a little small for a large karaoke and speaker set up but we made it work. The energy amongst the crowd (4-5 tables worth of people) was fun, and that's what matters most. After the karaoke, the hostess played about 30 mins of Caribbean jams which was fun too. During the event we had plenty to eat and drink. I had 3 rum punches (2 of which were during the happy hour window for $7) - they were not made to order, but rather came from a batch container. They were still pretty good and pretty strong but I would've preferred a freshly made drink. My girlfriend got a margarita to start (which wasn't that good) then switched to the rum punches. The bar was also low on glassware - so we often got drinks repoured into glasses we had just finished. Don't think the bar was prepared for a larger group that night. The food was solid, but not great. I had the regular fried wings and the jerk wings, for $9 during happy hour. Both wings were good, and I appreciate that the jerk wasn't too spicy. Strangely, I received 7 fried wings in one order and 5 jerk wings in the other order. My friend, who also ordered jerk wings, only got 4 wings in his order. Some consistency in order size would be better. On our way out, we ordered a couple patties (beef and curry chicken) and a curry chicken dinner with rice n peas and plantains. Theses choices were great! Wish I had ordered one more patty. The staff's friendliness and liveliness was the best part. The bartender was very friendly and did her best to manage the whole restaurant's drinks solo. The karaoke hostess had great energy. Even the kitchen staff and folks managing food orders were kind and pleasant. I could tell many of the guests were regulars; everyone seems very comfortable interacting with staff. If I'm in the area again, I'd totally be okay with stopping by for another rum punch and beef patty.

Period…read more I've been seeing this place all over social media, so when I found myself in the area, I had to see what the hype was about. First off, parking is easy. It's in a shopping center, so nothing stressful there, and the restaurant itself is easy to spot. Walking in, the first thing I noticed was how clean, polished, and classy everything looked. Even though it was busy, it didn't feel chaotic. The staff immediately greeted me and asked if it was my first time which I appreciated. They didn't just rush me through the line; they actually took time to explain the menu, how the bowls are built, and offered samples. That alone made the experience feel welcoming and intentional. Now let's get into the FOOD. Everything looked fresh. They have about four rice options (which is already a win), and I went with the pineapple coconut rice. For my protein, I chose grilled chicken, but they also offer shrimp, salmon, and even a mushroom option for vegetarians and honestly, the mushrooms looked so good I almost switched. For my added sides, I kept it simple because I really wanted to taste everything. Collard greens and sweet potatoes. But they also had plantains, and okra....real deal soul food options. Then you get into the fresh toppings. Slaws, carrots, pickled veggies. I kept it light. I finished my bowl with collard green pesto (which intrigued me, and I'm glad I tried it) and added an étouffée sauce over my rice... and listen!!!!! That combo? Chef's kiss. I grabbed a tropical punch juice, and just like everything else, it tasted fresh and well-made. Let me say this clearly: the food is a 10/10. If you're someone who will give Chipotle chance after chance, then you absolutely owe it to yourself to try Spice Black. 10/10. Worth your money. Worth the hype. Worth the experience.

Both bowls are hearty, bursting with flavor and heavy. I started browsing through the menu -- I was delighted to see a lunch special on jerk chicken & curry chicken, and so many combo entrees at what I'd say are reasonable prices. Combos were like curry & brown stew, jerk & curry, etc. I just got the lunch special (curry chicken) for myself, and the ackee, saltfish, and callaloo combo platter for my parents. It took about 15 minutes, and they gave me the heads up on it taking a while which I appreciated. When it was ready, I made my way home. I loved everything about it! The rice & peas surprised me... the rice appeared to have a basmati base. Do other spots do that? Am I just unaware?
