We haven't been to chili's in years. So we decided to have them on a last minute decision type thing. When my family arrived, we were seated promptly and greeted with professionalism, but however we waited 10 minutes just for a waiter to come to greet the table and get our drink order. I chopped it up to maybe things being a bit busy, so we placed our appetizers, they came out okay. The mozzarella dippers, were Luke warm. But the chicken bacon ranch nachos were pretty good. For my main dish I ordered chicken Cajun pasta.... this is where things go downhill. When biting into the chicken, the temperatures were a little all over the place, some were cold, some were warm, and some were hot. The pasta was rubbery and so was the chicken, the pasta was also hard in some areas and tasted weird, so I stopped eating it. Now fast forward to today, I am in bed with food poisoning from eating there yesterday. Im honestly disappointed, I dont know if maybe we picked a bad day (trying to give a little grace) but judging by past reviews, someone hire up in the franchise needs to come and retrain and do a thorough inspection on the restaurant. Cinco de Mayo 2024 was almost non-existent! My beau and I searched high and low for an authentic Tex-Mex spot but all the nearby places were PACKED. We were hungry, so good ole Chili's was the place to go. Ironically, the bar area was empty and there was no one waiting when we walked in. Score! We were happy in that moment. We sat down and noticed the bartender was BUSY. So busy her eyes didn't move from her little corner. She didn't smile with her eyes, look our direction, or even acknowledge us. Almost felt like I was Sam Wheat from Ghost for the 70 minutes we dined at the bar. I asked my significant other after 5 minutes if I should speak and try to get her attention but being compassionate he told me to wait a little. So we did. 5 minutes turned into 10, then 15, then 20. After 22 minutes our patience meter timed out. Ding, Ding, Ding.... sound the alarm. I saw a manager at the takeout counter and politely told her we'd been sitting without being acknowledged. I asked if anyone could help the one bartender. The manager quickly closed out what she was doing and made her way to bar. The manager apologized to the now 6 other upset customers; she proceeded to take orders and make our drinks. Have to admit I was impressed with the fact that she knew how to bartend. You would have thought with drinks being a big ticket markup that you'd want to make drinks quickly to have your customers order more. After 26 minutes we got our drinks. Yay! By this time we had ordered and watched the NBA playoffs while we waited. The original bartender was directly in front of us the entire time, still no eye contact, no hello, no sorry, nada. Twenty minutes from getting our drinks, the food came. My beau got his first, mine arrived 3 minutes after. Food was so good that we devoured all our fajitas. Got to give it to Chilis they make great fajitas. It's true. Finally we needed our check and luckily there was a male behind the bar helping. My beau asked for the check. As we were getting ready to leave we spoke to the Busy Bartender and said "you sure are busy." And just like that we got the confession. My beau and I sat there, listening like two therapists. She was protesting this evening so that her mangers would hire more people and not leave her alone. I'm supportive of a protest with a great cause. I personally love the 1963 March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom, most known for the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.'s famous "I Have a Dream" speech. I love a good protest but not when I'm the pawn in a fight I have nothing to do with. Hopefully they will get the staff together and work out their family dysfunction. OK, hear me out. I was not a Chili's fan either, at least until recently. Yes, Chili's has a reputation. We all know. It's probably not the first place you jump up, grab the keys to and go to have date night or family dinner. And yes..it kind of doesn't matter what location that you go to (sort of) because sometimes when one franchise falls off, all of them get a bad rap. However....this one here in Waldorf!!? Please somebody sound the alarm. The food, the service all 10 out of 10. Now after never having ever gone to a Chili's maybe once since the early 90's, my husband and I went earlier this year, around the time the hot mozzarella sticks became popular, (because mozzarella sticks are my thing) and when you pair that with hot sauce..SIGN ME UP IMMEDIATELY!! I just had to have them; so that meant I had to go back to a Chili's to get them. That experience at this Waldorf location was great-food service all of it. The mozzarella sticks lived up to the hype. BUT, to make sure that just wasn't a one off, I came again just the other day...because I was craving those sticks. There was a much younger staff, it was a different time of day and I'm pleased to say that the same results were had. The food was great-fresh, hot and delicious. Their service was wonderful. The staff here were attentive without being overly attentive. They cleared tables at appropriate times, asked if we needed anything, apologized for cutting my husband off when he was trying to ask a question..I mean, just all out a great professional staff and again the food was great. We each got one of their speciality burgers and fries, I got mozzarella sticks of course, we shared the triple dipper and I got a cocktail. Everything was executed well and came out piping hot. Please. Just block out any negative thoughts you may have about this location or Chili's as a whole and give it a try...maybe you'll end up having a great experience! I haven't been to a Chili's in years but when a friend said let's meet here because of the location, I said ok. We visited during the week for lunch and the place wasn't crowded so we were seated quickly. My friend ordered an appetizer, boneless wings and fries. I ordered the quesadilla explosion salad. Food came out pretty quick. My friend had no complaints about her boneless wings. My salad tasted as good as it looked. The cheese quesadilla topping was a little dry so I asked for extra sauce to dip it in. The 3 star rating was for the lack of service. Surprisingly the restaurant was very quiet when we arrive, there were a handful of customers and the hostess was on her phone. The hostess greeted us and sat us immediately. Our waiter came over, gave us drink suggestions and took our order immediately. Our waiter was unprofessional, he was young, but he was attentive and helpful. The food was good bar food. I wish I could find something nice to say about this place, but our experience there was terrible! We visited on a Friday night and the place was pretty empty, but we still waited at the entrance to be seated while the employee played on their phone and ignored us. When we were finally seated we were placed at a table that was really sticky, and we waited again as our waiter was no where to be found! Once he came around we placed our entire order in an effort to not be ignored again after getting drinks. Our water tasted like chlorine, the chips were half stale and the corn on the cob looked like it would be better suited as popcorn. We were semi-forced to go to this Chili's trying to celebrate Cinco De Mayo with "Tex-Mex" food and a bunch of margaritas. So I reached over and got my own menu because the bartender had tunnel vision making drinks. So after 5 minutes and then 10 minutes, we still hadn't been greeted by the bartender who seemed to intentionally not making eye contact. Another couple came in and sat next to us, and after 5 minutes, they asked have we been waited on. We let them know we've been there for approximately 15 minutes with not even a hello. My girl very nicely found a manager, explained what was going on, and she promptly responded to the now un-manned bar and made our drinks and put in our food order. The bartender eventually returned and continued making drinks for the restaurant but it was obvious she was not tending to the bar area patrons # WIERD-AF!!! The drinks and food were really good, which shocked us because of the terrible service. Once it was time to pay the bill, we sarcastically said to the bartender, "you sure are busy", which prompted her to open up to us. She admitted that she wasn't waiting on the bar folks because she was overwhelmed and management failed to staff the restaurant properly for such a busy occasion. I went to this location with two of my friends, we walked in and got seated quickly but the server we had was rushing us to order. As one of us finished ordering, the server pointed to one of my friends and said "what do you want". Then, when we got our appetizer, she started waving the food in our faces. The table next to us had been served multiple times while the same server did not come over to my table to check up on us and if we needed any drinks. I was shocked at the cost compared to the amount of food given. When did you start cutting back so much on lettuce and fries? I can understand on meat, but can I get some lettuce for my salad? Well! I certainly should've checked the reviews here before giving this place a try! I was part of a party of 4 had we a very unfortunate 1st time experience. Arrived @ 4pm, there were a few patrons dining and some in the bar area. We were given a text alert for a 15-20 min wait. There were other families standing w/an extended wait time also. After 20 mins, we questioned the time. It was a disaster! 3 other families STILL waiting! The host told us there were only 2 servers available to serve the WHOLE restaurant & the kitchen COMPLETELY backed up! She then told us there was NO BARTENDER & she denied us access to the bar area & table seating. The manager was "too busy" to help make sense of things. And so, we waited even longer: after a 30+ min wait, we ultimately left w/out dining. read more

We had to retrieve a menu from the front. The whole restaurant feels sticky and gross. Hard to explain. The poor bartender was doing her best. The water is supposed to come from the back. Waited about 20 minutes for water. Why I don't know. They had to give us plastic silverware because they were washing the regular ware. Sad that a restaurant suffers these issues. The service at the bar was horrible. i'm not sure what the problem was but i sat at a booth in the bar for thirty minutes with the bartender serving and speaking to other people while ignoring me. She didn't acknowledge me till thirty minutes later and told someone else to go talk to me. By the time she had sent someone over to me i had already placed a to go order online. I heard the host telling her she had been seated after i expressed to her that no one has helped me and she still didn't come to me. I'm so disappointed. When I say this was my worst experience eating at any restaurant. I mean it. I love Chilis, it is my favorite chain restaurant. However, stay away from this one. It breaks my heart to leave a terrible review. We had 3 waiters for my table(it was a table of 4 my infant son, 3 year old daughter, wife and me) and it still took forever them to make my drink. My wife ordered ribs, she wanted them with bbq sauce and they brought them out dry. Our waitress came smelling like weed and didn't understand how to work the tablet. My wife ordered drinks that were supposed to come with pineapples but came with cherries. We also ordered a molten lava cake that was supposed to have melted chocolate in the center, and they didnt melt the chocolate. So we had a hard brick of chocolate in the middle. They also didnt bring 3 spoons, so my family had to share off of 1 spoon. I complained to the manager and she explained that one of the 3 waitresses we had was new. So she reduced our 100$ bill to 65$. I believe this was still a lot with the amount of lousy service we received. I have been to a large number of restaurants, fine dining to mom and pop restaurants. The Manager DeeDee and our waiter Marcus was amazing!!! My husband does not eat meat so we ordered the new bean burger for him. The cook made a beef burger and the server sat it in front of my husband. Now hubby is a kind & patient man and though he was not happy about the mix up, he allowed our waiter & manager to fix it. A manager came and when she was notified of what was going on with our service, the manager asked "what do you think should be done?". We told the manager that she should do what she feels is appropriate. The server returned with the check and threw it on the table. We advised it needed to be split and that we had military discount and the server, who now had an attitude rolled her eyes. We asked for a manager again and the server said with an attitude "ill go get her", rolled her eyes and stormed off. The same manager came back and when informed of the attitude and rudeness she just stared dumbfounded. Finally as we left we spoke to another manager who addressed the situation, apologized multiple times and got the info to offer a full refund after saying she will see what she can do. Stopped in for a light meal last night with my sister. We were seated immediately and our server arrived quickly to take our drink orders. We needed a little more time for food. She brought us water and one of the cups was dirty and there were particles floating in the cup. On the bottom of the other cup was the remnants of the label that was not completely off and had collected dirt. She apologized and brought new water in a glass instead of the plastic mug. I ordered a bowl of chicken enchilada soup as my meal and a coconut margarita. The drink was fine; however, when the soup came it was cold. The server apologized and took it back to be heated. The Manager On Duty came to our table and apologized as well. He stated that the soup comes to them pre-made in a bag. They place that bag in boiling water to heat it. Unfortunately, they took it out too soon and that's why it was cold. As a customer, that's not my issue. I continued to listen for the resolution. He indicated that he would take 50% off of our meal and provide a free dessert of our choice. He also asked that we be easy on our server because she was "freaking out" over it. Not sure why that last comment was necessary as we had been nothing, but nice to her. The kitchen mistake is not her fault. Hopefully, this was just a bad night and not something that people should be on alert for. read more
