Perfect spot to stop before you get on the Highway, very fresh coffee. Heard about Kozy Beans in Crofton from the Wife, she saw something on Tik Tok. We decided to stop and I'm glad we did. This is a really nice, clean, local coffee with really bubbly personalities working the registers and making our coffees. Came here for the first time on a Saturday at 11am with a group of friends. I ordered their matcha latte with 1% milk, and a ham and cheese croissant. What's Hot - Menu. Pretty good variety. There's coffee and non-coffee options. Unfortunately for me, they ran out out of chai by the time I ordered. In terms of food, there are sweet and savory baked goods. For croissants, I saw the ham and cheese; chocolate filled croissants, bagels, and other sweet and savory pastries. Later in the day, there appear to be more meal options, like sandwiches and such. - Quality. My matcha latte was pretty good. I asked for no sweetener, so the flavor of the latte was the simple matcha flavor, which I really liked. They warmed up my croissant, which helped, because it was soft. The croissant was not too salty and it had a nice flavor. - Service. Their staff appear to be on top of things. They're very nice and answered my questions. I did not wait very long for my order and it looked like everyone's order was handled smoothly and efficiently. - Price. The ham and cheese croissant was approximately $6 and my 20oz matcha latte was approximately $6. The balance came out to approximately $13. For the quality and portion size, it's pretty good value for money. - Layout. Very accommodating. There are a few bar stools at a counter near the front of the shop, several tables that seat 4 people, and a couple of couches towards the back with a coffee table in between. There is also a child size table with a couple of child size seats at the back, as well. This place appears to be popular, so be aware of the time you come here if you plan on dining in. Originally, I was hoping to snag the couches for myself and my group, but those were already taken by the time I arrived. Their bathroom accommodates physical handicaps and is a very good size. Everything inside was clean and organized. - Location. Conveniently located in a plaza with other shops and restaurants. Good size parking lot for the plaza. What's Not - No non-dairy options. I asked if my matcha latte could be made with soy milk, and their staffer responded that they only have 1% milk or whole milk. It's a little frustrating that there aren't non-dairy options, but to each their own. Just be aware. - Quality. My ham and cheese croissant was good, but it did not have as much cheese as I was hoping. I like my baked goods to have a good amount of filling. Their ham and cheese croissant was somewhat lacking. Good flavor, but not filling, so be aware. Final Answer Am willing to come back, but perhaps not a first choice. read more

Spur of the moment, when DD and I were in Crofton on an errand. I love trying new places, especially indie coffee shops. It's in a kind of tired, old strip mall but is very fresh and welcoming inside. The shop has interesting decor featuring artwork and burlap coffee bags. Labeling on the bags caused us to search some terminology and get educated along with our food & drink! ;) There is a small area for kids that has some books and a few toys. Seating is varied, with traditional tables & chairs, bistro stools at the window, and a few comfy "living room" arrangements. I had an iced mocha and DD had a caramel latte (I think) plus a chicken sandwich. She pronounced both "very good" and I enjoyed the mocha very much. Lots of free parking. I'm not from this area, so this cafe is like a hidden gem to me! I've come by a couple times to get a drink and study. It's a quiet place, not too busy on weekend afternoons (at least the last couple of times I went). The cashiers are friendly and kind. I love how they have a wide variety of drinks. The lattes are not the best, but they're good. I just think it's such a cozy spot to study if you don't want to go to Starbucks or the library. This has become one of my favorite stops in Crofton, Maryland. It is inviting in the ladies to work there, are very friendly and welcoming.. sometimes I stop by in the mornings, drink my latte or Tea and do some work on my laptop. Trust me, I tell you, if you live close by, you will go there again, not once, not twice but more than a few times a month. Kozy Beans has a good mix of coffee/espresso drinks, bakery items, specialty waters and even desserts like ice cream. I ordered one of their monthly specials: Pumpkin Chai and asked for it to be "dirty," (added espresso). The flavoring was very ginger forward. Not exactly pleasant but since ginger is "good for you," I downed it. I also grabbed a molasses cookie--YUM. This little cafe is truly cozy and has a nice amount of seating available for guests. I was looking for a place to work for a little bit so it was perfect. I like to think I know more about coffee than I do but I prove I don't each time I go to a coffee shop. I started to order one drink but the barista helped me choose something more my style. My drink was tasty. I also ordered an orange cranberry scone to go and a couple speciality Christmas items for stocking stuffers. I haven't had a scone with that flavor profile but it was delicious. The coffee is unbelievably delicious and not watered down with unnecessary sugars. Their menu includes a range of coffee and tea options as well as baked goods. Seasonal coffee options are also available, as well as dairy alternatives. Prices are standard. I got a 20oz oat milk latte with honey and cinnamon (which is usually my litmus test for great coffee) and man did this pass with flying colors. This cup of magic exceeded all my expectations. This latte had a smooth flavor with no off notes. There was a dreamy aroma, a rich creamy body and a very pleasant aftertaste. Every sip left me wanting more- seriously, it's been a while since I've had coffee this good. I ended up going back later in the day to get more! The orange cranberry scone was also very yummy. The service was superb to say the least. Amelia and Austin were a joy- we chatted the entire time I was there. They were so engaging and fun, they really enhanced an already great experience. My girlfriend and me got coffee and a snack from here , both coffees were actually bad. She ordered a vanilla Carmel cold brew and it's overly fake sweet like chemically sweet. I order an iced americano and I love americanos for their balance of strong coffee flavor and sweetness, the americano I received however there was no balance of flavors like it was over brewed and no amount of added sweetener was going to save it. The treats we got were average at best, the cinnamon walnut coffee cake was pretty good but my bagel was stale and lacked in the cream cheese department. It is a cute little coffee shop, and I adore the little chalk sign in front of the store and decorations inside. The staff were very sweet and quick with making my order despite having a few people ahead of me. I got an oat milk latte with gingerbread and maple syrup, which was recommended as an alternative to the gingerbread latte by the girl who took my order! (I've been a proclaimed maple-disliker for a while now, but I think it's finally time I admit I do like the flavor). I liked the coffee, but I didn't really start to taste the syrups very well until I got down to the bottom. Otherwise, a nice latte, and it wasn't too sweet! I also got an almond croissant and a cranberry scone. It tasted like there's some orange in the scone as well, and I really enjoyed the flavor! I will say it was a little dry. I loved the almond croissant - super buttery and flaky. I can only imagine what it would've been like warmed. They also have an assortment of pre-packaged gluten free baked goods! I heard about this new coffee shop on Nextdoor and tried them out this morning. I ordered an americano and a blueberry muffin. The coffee comes in only one size (12oz), but it was just enough for me. The coffee was pretty good but I probably should have added another shot of espresso to make it stronger. The blueberry muffin was very tasty and fresh. It complemented my coffee well! Coffee: good, they use heavy seas which is a little on the citric acidy side for me, but I know lots of folks love it. Got an iced latte and it was nice and strong. Pastry: good, got a chocolate chip croissant, was light and buttery and yummy, if maybe SLIgHtLy under done if I'm being picky Staff: very friendly and speedy Value: on the pricier end, slightly more than Starbucks per fl oz but you pay more at a local small place so it was expected Ambiance: very cute, very chill, pretty chatty at rush hour but not loud, there is Jesus-y stuff around so if you're not into that or have religious aversion, probably not your jam. Good wi-fi and plenty of seating with a nice spot for kids to chill with books. Overall I think a great addition in a coffee shop dead zone. I hope they extend their hours past 3 PM which is right when I want my afternoon coffee. I also hope they do some community outreach (artist shows or poetry readings or open mic) to keep the crowds up and keep it fresh. The area needs the creative outlet! The coffee is not up to par. Not only was it very weak, it was unexpectedly bland. (Biscoff Latte) Don't get the donuts here, it could be the lack of gluten (chocolate chip) but they are headed to the trash. I've had better donuts from the freezer. read more
