It would be easy to drive by this place if you didn't know about it or weren't looking for it specifically. It is located in a small strip mall. Upon entering you are at the counter where drinks are completed. You have to walk to the middle of the store to the register to place an order. The employees were friendly. I experimented and ordered a lavender vanilla latte which I had never had from anywhere before so I have nothing to compare it too. I am so fortunate that the Crownsville location for this business is located just outside my community The atmosphere is welcoming and very warm and inviting! It's a mixture of rustic, but also modern The staff is amazing. They're all very friendly and they know all of their regulars! I always order the hot chai latte with half water and half almond milk and they make it delicious. If you're hungry, I highly recommend the chocolate croissant and asked to have it heated up slightly. It's delicious! Their menu is quite extensive, offering various breakfast options, coffee, espresso, frappes, lattes, mochas, smoothies, and loose leaf teas, as well as sandwiches, salads, pastries, and seasonal items. You can purchase the cafe's whole beans, too. I ordered a Funky Monkey to go, which can be prepared hot or cold; I opted it for extra hot. Made with chocolate and banana, the coffee was strong, and the combination of the syrups made it super tasty. Staff were pretty friendly and welcoming, and there are a handful of tables inside to dine-in. The place does get super busy, so there is somewhat of a line. You can also locate some specialty items to purchase, such as drink powders, fudge, and gift boxes. I popped in, unsure of what to expect, and was SO pleasantly surprised! I got a Honeybee Latte and a breakfast sandwich (with Gluten Free Bread). They asked to check how Gluten sensitive I am to be sure they didn't cross contaminate me, which I greatly appreciated (I'm just sensitive, but still very nice of them). I did work while there and wound up ordering lunch (Chicken BLT and a GF buckeye brownie) So many GF goodies for those who eat GF (along with of course typical glutinous items), and amazing goodies! Cute little place with good food and drinks! On a Thursday around lunch, they were very busy, but the line moves along well. My son had a yummy mango smoothie and a delicious Turkey club panini. He had it without the chipotle Mayo and really liked it. I had the soup and sandwich combo with the cranberry almond chicken salad sandwich and carrot and ginger soup. The portions were small (cup of soup and half sandwich) , which was perfect for me. The soup had more ginger spice than I like, but it was very good. I liked the pieces of carrots mixed in. The sandwich was also very good with the perfect combo of ingredients. My chai latte was delicious and not overly sweet. I liked the foam on top. This was my second time at BRC and it was just as good as the first. I used BRC for a telework location and it worked perfectly...strong WiFi, moderate noise levels, and most importantly great service and great coffee. BRC brews the best coffee in the area, I'd easily choose BRC over any drink at Starbucks and wouldn't think twice. On both occasions I've tried the veggie bagel and a different latte drink which comes with 3 shots on a large...prices are right in line with craft coffee and speciality breakfast. I'd strongly suggest BRC to anyone in the area and if you get there early you might be the first to answer the question of the day...ample parking, great service, plenty of seats, WiFi, and cozy vibe are some of the highlights; but let's not forget the coffee and food right!!! read more

HubBae thoroughly enjoyed his bacon, egg, and cheese on a croissant sandwich and we both thought the hot matcha latte with almond milk was amaaaaazzzing. I'd return just for the matcha latte and the employees were all friendly and patient with our indecisiveness, lol. They had hand sanitizer in plain sight and their staff and all the patrons were wearing masks and were safely social distanced. We enjoyed our experience during a weekday Covid-19 visit and will stop in again, the next time we're in the area. read more

First visit, SO many breakfast and coffee choices! I just had coffee, but my daughter devoured a breakfast sandwich. "Everything" bagel, veggie cream cheese, lox, tomato, red onion. I had a little taste and YUM! She also had a latte which she liked. One funny note: when her sandwich was brought to her, we both quickly became puzzled that there was not one shred of salmon! The woman who made it apologized profusely, but we all had a good laugh over having "one of those mornings"! Super nice and friendly staff earns a star from me, every time. We'll be back! read more

We discovered this place soon after it opened circa the early 2010s and what made it special was that it was regularly manned by the proprietors. During this time, we really felt part of something communal when we visited, and there was always great attention to detail all the way around the store. Sometime after this, they opened up a 2nd location and priorities shifted. The warm, communal, service that differentiated Bean Rush from other coffee and sandwich shops was slowly replaced by an ever-changing stream of sometimes disinterested employees du jour. The food and coffee were always ok-to-good, but the real value proposition that Bean Rush offered us was warm interaction and that feeling began to wane as the proprietors focused their efforts on their 2nd location. At this point, it became less worthwhile for us to go out of our way to visit the Crownsville location, as it was becoming just another coffee shop, compared to what we first experienced, and as such, we started to visit less frequently. Finally, I'll note that Bean Rush's punch card/loyalty/rewards system is wildly unfair to couples and I personally find it insulting. For instance, when we went in as a couple and ordered 2 lattes, we only got 1 punch. If during that same visit, we ordered 2 more lattes, we got 0 punches. However, if we went in separately and paid separately, we'd get 2 punches for 2 lattes (or any coffee drinks). This, for me, was the final straw to break ties with Bean Rush, as I brought the punch card disparity up with them via Facebook private message and didn't really get a response that was satisfactory to me. It depends on what your priorities are; for us, it was something more than a place to grab a coffee and a bagel and that changed. read more

Anne Arundel is a great county but some parts are...suburbia nowhere where the cafes can only be commercialized like Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts. No offense to those businesses - I love my caffeine! So I make the drive to Bean Rush Cafe for a small cafe feel with yummy coffee and great ambiance. I've had the honey bee latte and lavender latte - both were divine! I get one less shot of espresso because I think the espresso here has super caffeine and makes me extra awake...TOO awake! (Probably hence the name "bean rush"h But for the same price as your commercial cafes, you get such a good coffee! I still have to try the food but I've heard amazing things about their sandwiches. There is a morning rush, 7-9amish, so be cautious about that if you're in a rush. Thank you for the experience and don't doubt yourself, come try this cafe and experience a Bean Rush!! read more

Roasted: found this place with great reviews on Google so decided to check it out this morning. It's a super cute cafe with good seating, plenty of food and snack options, and plenty of sugar free options. It's in a small strip plaza but doesn't feel like that once you are inside. The employee at the register was incredibly friendly and engaged us in conversation asking us about our Thanksgiving. It was a nice interaction for an early Friday morning. No for here mugs - they didn't offer or didn't have any. Our lattes were awful sadly and I couldn't drink mine at all. There was so much sugar free syrup in mine - all you could taste is the fake sugar and it was almost a burnt flavor. My latte was not a latte but clearly a cappuccino as it was nearly half full of foam. The milk foam was creamy as least and was the only saving grace in the latte. Two sips and I was done though. Unroasted: strip mall coffee shop always is a fun game. We walked in and we had 3 guests ahead of us so did not get greeted as we walked in. The decor is mediocre and very limited with 3 tables and 2 hi tops. The staff member taking our order was amazing. I loved that she was able answer our questions and even asked us how our Thanksgiving was. They offered sugar free flavors which is a plus. Disappointed we were not offered mugs. The latte was received about 3 min later and I was not impressed. I could feel based off the weight it was mostly foam. The look did not look appetizing at all. I was hoping to get some art but did not. Now the taste. All I tasted was sugar free flavoring. Coffee was an afterthought and was not living up to the bean rush name. I really wanted this place to be better with is question of the day and travel pictures of regulars. So many great ideas here but the coffee making should be number 1. read more

Always amazing, an AA County staple. Used to come here all the time in high school and I am sad that I no longer live here full time to enjoy their iced dirty chai. There were so many cute cafes we went to while we were visiting west. We said it is so sad there's no cute cafe near us. Boy were we wrong! Because of the cafes we visited, we want something not Starbucks. And we found this cute cafe! Cozy atmosphere. They have high tables, low tables and 2 comfortable armchairs. Glad this cafe isn't in the West and their drinks and breakfast sandwich were really delicious. It does look like it's a family owned business cafe. And that's the best thing about it. I got their iced almond milk matcha (also available hot) and I said mmmmm heavenly when I took sip of it. I also got their egg whites with tomato, onion and spinach on everything bagel. So. Good. The hubs got Funky Monkey (also available iced). And he said he would order it again (he was looking for PB mocha, and they didn't have it but was happy with his drink!). He also got egg, cheese and sausage breakfast sandwich on everything bagel. We will be coming to this place again. Just glad it doesn't require us to purchase an airfare ticket for it! read more
