I love the cozy atmosphere. The aroma welcomes you as soon as you walk in. The staff is so nice. And the Crème Brûlée Latte is so good.

Bean Rush Cafe has two other locations - one in Annapolis and another one inside the BWMC. Their menu is quite extensive, offering various breakfast options, coffee, espresso, frappes, lattes, mochas, smoothies, and loose leaf teas, as well as sandwiches, salads, pastries, and seasonal items. You can purchase the cafe's whole beans, too. I ordered a Funky Monkey to go, which can be prepared hot or cold; I opted it for extra hot. Made with chocolate and banana, the coffee was strong, and the combination of the syrups made it super tasty. Staff were pretty friendly and welcoming, and there are a handful of tables inside to dine-in. The place does get super busy, so there is somewhat of a line. You can also locate some specialty items to purchase, such as drink powders, fudge, and gift boxes. Plenty of parking in their small private lot; just note it's a little tight. +Funky Monkey +friendly staff +plenty of parking in private lot

Macchiato

Hadn't been here in years and loved it growing up with my parents as a neighborhood coffee shop so decided to grab a macchiato and a sandwich. Sandwich was delicious but the macchiato was just espresso which was very disappointing and since it was ordered to go I didn't check until I was well on my way.

I popped in, unsure of what to expect, and was SO pleasantly surprised! I got a Honeybee Latte and a breakfast sandwich (with Gluten Free Bread). They asked to check how Gluten sensitive I am to be sure they didn't cross contaminate me, which I greatly appreciated (I'm just sensitive, but still very nice of them). I did work while there and wound up ordering lunch (Chicken BLT and a GF buckeye brownie) So many GF goodies for those who eat GF (along with of course typical glutinous items), and amazing goodies! I am so glad I stumbled upon this gem. Such sweet staff, who walked me through how-to order and such, once they learned I'd never been. Such a sweet little spot. Reminds me of the Bean Hollow in old EC pre- floods I will absolutely be back!

Cute little place with good food and drinks! On a Thursday around lunch, they were very busy, but the line moves along well. My son had a yummy mango smoothie and a delicious Turkey club panini. He had it without the chipotle Mayo and really liked it. I had the soup and sandwich combo with the cranberry almond chicken salad sandwich and carrot and ginger soup. The portions were small (cup of soup and half sandwich) , which was perfect for me. The soup had more ginger spice than I like, but it was very good. I liked the pieces of carrots mixed in. The sandwich was also very good with the perfect combo of ingredients. My chai latte was delicious and not overly sweet. I liked the foam on top. I definitely would return here when I'm in the area.

This was my second time at BRC and it was just as good as the first. I used BRC for a telework location and it worked perfectly...strong WiFi, moderate noise levels, and most importantly great service and great coffee. BRC brews the best coffee in the area, I'd easily choose BRC over any drink at Starbucks and wouldn't think twice. On both occasions I've tried the veggie bagel and a different latte drink which comes with 3 shots on a large...prices are right in line with craft coffee and speciality breakfast. I'd strongly suggest BRC to anyone in the area and if you get there early you might be the first to answer the question of the day...ample parking, great service, plenty of seats, WiFi, and cozy vibe are some of the highlights; but let's not forget the coffee and food right!!!

Good fresh food. Good service. Wish it was a little bigger inside with more places to sit. But that won't keep me away from eating there.

Bean rush has this location and the one in Annapolis. Both are equally as nice! This location seems to have a bit more food options.

I actually came Thursday morning and ended up leaving because the line was long. I didn't have time to wait just to order and then wait again for food. On Friday, I did it the smarter way and ordered ahead online, then picked up from the Mad Eggs food truck in the rear, which worked out way better. I went for breakfast and ordered a scrapple, egg, and cheese biscuit ($10) and breakfast tots ($4.25). The order took about 20 minutes, which honestly wasn't bad considering how packed it was around 9:00 a.m. I even noticed people waiting in their cars before heading up to the truck, so the timing felt realistic given the volume. If I had more time, I would've waited without an issue. Food-wise, everything was good, but I had mixed feelings. The biscuit sandwich tasted fine, but for $10, I expected more. It wasn't loaded, and at that price point it just didn't quite make sense to me--I know that sounds sarcastic, but it's hard not to compare when it's a simple scrapple, egg, and cheese. The breakfast tots, on the other hand, were the better deal. I liked these a lot. The portion made more sense for the price, and I really liked that you're encouraged to customize them. That part was right up my alley. With all the topping options, I do wish they offered a sauce or gravy option (like sausage or country gravy), but even without that, this is something I'd order again and again. The coffeehouse itself is small but clean and quaint, with a few tables. Parking out front is very limited--maybe five cars--but there's more space in the back near the food truck, and there's a rear entrance, which is probably the best move. Staff was friendly and efficient, and even from inside you can tell things are run pretty smoothly. I don't drink coffee, so I can't speak to that side much, but I've had food brought home from here before by my wife and really enjoyed the matcha tea smoothie in the past. Overall, I'd definitely return. I think Rise Up does a good job in general, and I've enjoyed their Severna Park and downtown Annapolis locations before. I just expected more out of a $10 biscuit sandwich--but I'd happily come back for the tots and other menu items.

It might look tiny, but don't misjudge the coffee and other drinks they are making here! I actually went back after my first order to try another beverage, it was that good. I started with a Fall-flavored 'refresher,' though I can't honestly remember the name. But, it was amazing! I was down the strip a few shops for an event, so I popped back to The Big Bean before they closed for their "Not Ready for Winter" coffee concoction. Another winner! I also picked up a couple of biscotti for later. When we did finally get around to trying them, they were incredible! Very hard and crunchy as a biscotti should be, and perfect for soaking up some coffee for dunking. And the flavors are perfect. Other people were ordering their breakfast sandwiches, which honestly looked and smelled incredible... I just didn't have room for food that day. Or, I would have totally ordered one just based off of others' orders alone! The real five-star facet here, though, was the staff. They were very friendly and helpful, despite how busy they were. They still found time for friendly and cheerful banter while ringing everyone up. I don't think team members get enough credit when they go above and beyond, but please take the time to tip or at least acknowledge the fantastic folks here! Overall, it's a wonderful coffee shop that I wish were closer to home! And... had more parking! The number and orientation of spots here isn't ideal, but it's worth an extra walk (huge lot across the street) for the drinks, snacks, and people at The Big Bean. Outstanding overall experience!

Food and service so good you'll forget you're in a mall parking lot!…read more We were out running errands and decided to grab a bite. Unfamiliar with the area, I jumped on yelp and found The Farmhouse with its 4.4 star rating. So there we went. The Waugh Chapel area is a giant shopping center. Wegmans, Old Navy, Verizon, etc. The Farmhouse is in a new building near the man road. Their whole thing is farm to fork, with some herbs and greens grown on site and others sourced locally. The service is great! Fast and friendly. Instead of bread or rolls, they warm you up with some country style homemade cornbread. Freshly baked, cast iron skillet, with butter and syrup. Yum! We had the meatloaf and the chicken and chicken and biscuits. The meatloaf was tasty, with homemade mashed potatoes and perfectly cooked fresh green beans. The chicken and biscuits is kind of like a chicken pot pie without the crust. The biscuits are on top so you can decide how much bread you want. The vegetables are nice and fresh, and the chicken is perfect white meat. A++ on both entrees. For dessert we had half-baked, which is an ooey gooey cookie and a brownie in a cast iron skillet topped with ice cream. We liked it, but next time I'll probably have just ice cream because the ice cream was absolutely perfect. Where are you? Stevensville? Baltimore? Solomon's? Alexandria? DC? You should make the drive to Waugh Chapel Station and get some fresh, delicious, better- than-home-cooked food.

When we arrived, our table appeared to be ready right at our reservation time, but we still had to wait to be seated. It wasn't a long delay, but it was a bit confusing and felt like a service issue. The ambience is beautiful and well done, and the bathrooms were clean. The food itself was solid across the board, and the chicken and biscuit was actually even better the next day as leftovers. Unfortunately, the service was the biggest drawback. Refills only happened when we asked, and splitting checks for a large group was more difficult than expected. At one point when a correction was needed, a member of our party noticed the server visibly rolling her eyes, which didn't help the experience. Drinks are also served by the can rather than fountain style, which made them feel overpriced without refills. For a place that presents as upscale, the experience shouldn't feel nickel-and-dimed. Overall, nice atmosphere and good food, but the service needs improvement before I'd consider returning.

There's coffee and non-coffee options. Unfortunately for me, they ran out out of chai by the time I ordered. In terms of food, there are sweet and savory baked goods. For croissants, I saw the ham and cheese; chocolate filled croissants, bagels, and other sweet and savory pastries. Later in the day, there appear to be more meal options, like sandwiches and such. - Quality. My matcha latte was pretty good. I asked for no sweetener, so the flavor of the latte was the simple matcha flavor, which I really liked. They warmed up my croissant, which helped, because it was soft. The croissant was not too salty and it had a nice flavor. - Service. Their staff appear to be on top of things. They're very nice and answered my questions. I did not wait very long for my order and it looked like everyone's order was handled smoothly and efficiently. - Price. The ham and cheese croissant was approximately $6 and my 20oz matcha latte was approximately $6. The balance came out to approximately $13. For the quality and portion size, it's pretty good value for money. - Layout. Very accommodating. There are a few bar stools at a counter near the front of the shop, several tables that seat 4 people, and a couple of couches towards the back with a coffee table in between. There is also a child size table with a couple of child size seats at the back, as well. This place appears to be popular, so be aware of the time you come here if you plan on dining in. Originally, I was hoping to snag the couches for myself and my group, but those were already taken by the time I arrived. Their bathroom accommodates physical handicaps and is a very good size. Everything inside was clean and organized. - Location. Conveniently located in a plaza with other shops and restaurants. Good size parking lot for the plaza. What's Not - No non-dairy options. I asked if my matcha latte could be made with soy milk, and their staffer responded that they only have 1% milk or whole milk. It's a little frustrating that there aren't non-dairy options, but to each their own. Just be aware. - Quality. My ham and cheese croissant was good, but it did not have as much cheese as I was hoping. I like my baked goods to have a good amount of filling. Their ham and cheese croissant was somewhat lacking. Good flavor, but not filling, so be aware. Final Answer Am willing to come back, but perhaps not a first choice.
