The ice cream was cool but it appeared I was over charged . The ambiance was that of a regular cold stone . I just don't think I'd be back soon. Also one of my orders were double cup with a smaller cup inside so I didn't get my moneys worth . I don't know if it was purposeful but definitely but a sour taste in my mouth . read more

This was the best cold stone I've been to. There was no line when we walked in and it's because the staff mixes with purpose! We were greeted immediately and the gentleman that helped us stayed with us the entire time ensuring our orders were correct. Babe has a nut allergy and told our ice cream chef... so he asked another lady from the back to make it in a custom section free from nuts and other add-ins! It was delicious!! Clean ambience!! This place leaves a lot to be desired to say the least. I have ordered from this particular establishment on multiple occasions, via DOORDASH. My order is jacked up EVERY time. Therefore, I had to leave the comfort of my home to personally place an order. I was hoping that my experience would be TREMENDOULSY better due to me personally going to the store. NO IT WAS NOT!! I placed an order for 2 items. As she is mixing the items, she leaves some of the ingredients on the cold mixing table as she transferred it to the cup. I then asked her if she could also place what was left of the mixing table into my cup. She honored my request...BUT WITH ATTITUDE!! Horrible customer service, to say the Absolute least. read more

I haven't been to Coldstone in years but decided to stop by before I started my healthy eating for the month. I was returning something at another store and it was in the same plaza. I walked in on a Sunday afternoon and had the place to myself. The staff person was in the back doing something and told me she'd be with me in a few minutes. That gave me some time to look over the menu, which has changed since my last visit. There were ice cream cakes and ice cream peanut butter cups. I may have to get a cake for my birthday. Anyways, I narrowed down to the banana caramel crunch or one of the strawberry ice cream creations. Then I remembered another creation that I had before but didn't see it on the menu. It was strawberry ice cream with strawberries, banana, graham cracker crumbs, and white chocolate chips. When I described it, the young lady knew exactly what I was talking about, the strawberry banana rendezvous. It was no longer on the menu but she offered to make it for me since they had all the ingredients. I can't imagine why they would have removed it because it's so delicious. Rich strawberry ice cream with all those yummy fixings and different textures; the creaminess of the banana, crunch from the white chocolate chips, a little grit from the graham cracker crumbs, and the juiciness of the strawberries. I enjoyed every last spoonful. I can't believe I stayed away so long. I just wished they used fresh strawberries instead of frozen thawed ones. Maybe they do in the summertime. Great staff, friendly, fun. But they were loaded down with Uber eats orders and I even asked them about it. As I work at a food place that has Uber eats I know that it can bogg down the customer interaction you should be having when there is people in the store. So I gave them all my patience and told them we totally understand. We were not in a rush. We hadn't been at a Cold Stone in about 8 years. The ice cream tasted really good! 12-02-23 I was greeted immediately upon entering this store!! I have cold stone YEAR ROUND!! doesn't matter the weather/season it's my simple Happiness!! I got my usual founder's favorite with cheesecake ice cream YET curious to the red velvet luxury with red velvet cake pieces!! & dark chocolate blend !! The dark chocolate wasn't sweet and rich as I thought it'd be!!! It just looks that way!!.. it was my Birthday so Why Not!!! I love the fact you can watch the team members make your ice cream in all of its rich yummy goodness!!...(Homer drooling) after it was done I had so much ice cream it was enough for a smaaaaaaall cup and my big one!! Happy happy Joy Joy !! So you know I crushed that cup soon as I got in the car .. btw The Strawberry Syrup with heighten ANY coldstone flavor so ask for it mixed in or on the side!! Stopped by yesterday and got a Milk & Oreos shake. Service was fast and friendly. I ordered small and was charged for small but they gave me a large because the worker told me he accidentally made too much and I had not ordered the whip cream topping. I consider myself an ice cream connoisseur because I would rather have ice cream than mostly any other dessert in the world. So when I say I KNOW ice cream...I KNOW ice cream and I love Cold Stone Creamery!!! The ice cream is excellent quality and has tons of mix in's to chose from. I personally don't indulge in a lot of the mix in's they have because I like my ice cream short, sweet and to the point! (Chocolate with Oreos as a mix in is a walk on the wild side for me) The waffle bowls/cones are the best here....so fresh! I've had several ice cream cakes, ice cream pies and ice cream cupcakes from this location and they were all delish! The manager at this location is awesome. I requested a special order item that they no longer carry and instead of brushing me off, she fulfilled my request. Now that's excellent customer service. Yes, teenagers work at this location, but I've never had any bad encounters with them. And yes, the lines can become rather lengthy, but that's mainly the customers fault. Usually when I go, the customers in front of me have to taste every flavor before deciding, they never know what they want to order or what mix-in's they should include and then they order 3 or 4 different orders per person. All of that is with 3 -4 employees taking customers orders. Prices range from $5 on up and I'm sure that could be a little expensive for some, but when you have to pay for quality, it can be a little more expensive. Sure, Rita's is right across the street, but it's just as expensive, if not more and their bland custard has nothing on Cold Stone's creamy ice cream! My son and I are big fan of Cold Stone Creamery. Convenient location and always a great service. The dining tables are sticky sometimes but that's what happened when they received too many customers and very little time to clean. I just hope they have wet wipes for us to at least wipe the table. read more

The fact that this is 4 stars is more about the fact that I think Coldstone is a *tad* overpriced in general. I came here most recently with my in-laws, and they were fascinated with the concept. The staff here is consistently friendly, and doesn't sing any weird songs about ice cream (thanks). What they DID do, was patiently allow my family to try samples (this was their first visit), and explained about the sorbet/dairy allergy options. An aside, the music in this store is always the bomb! I find myself singing and bopping about every time I'm there. I usually get the banana caramel crunch, but I sub graham crackers for the almonds. They're always happy to do it, and never give me a hard time about the substitution, which I appreciate. Overall, it's a great location, the people are always kind, the ice cream is good, and the music hits on all cylinders. Not much more I can ask! read more

I have been going to this location ever since it opened. The quality has definitely gone down in my opinion. The kids they have employed spend more time talking to each other than paying attention to you and your order. They don't sing anymore ever. My first and last time trying ordering online for Coldstone was through Uber Eats. I was very disappointed in the quality and execution of the order. My order was wrong and they never secured the lid on my ice cream. When the driver dropped it off, the bag was nice and neat but inside of the bag was a massacre. I called the estabilshment and explained what happened. The owner called me back and apologized and offered to remake it correctly free of charge whenever the next time I went in. I went in Friday to redeem that offer. The manager was not very friendly or hospitable. She made the entire order and a shake I ordered as well, then sent me to the register. I explained to the young lady at the register that I was paying for the milkshake but the ice cream was supposed to be on the house. She said she was going to check with her manager and be right back. The manager came over and with a nasty attitude and tone said "I was told the ice cream was free but not the milkshake. You need to pay for the milkshake." I replied, "Yes, that is correct. I am ready to pay for the milkshake. She was just getting your approval." Before I could continue she got even more of an attitude and said she was calling the owner. She talked to the owner and then the owner spoke to me. I explained to her what occurred and she apologized for the discrepancy. The manager still had a nasty attitude, I paid for my milkshake and left. The manager is rude and made it look as though I was trying to get over on them over a milkshake and an incorrect order of ice cream that they had to replace. I do not appreciate being treated like a criminal. Needless to say, I will not be returning to this location. read more

I've been to this place twice and both times have been so-so. One time it was so backed up, I turned around and left. The other time was nicer. No long line and the ice cream was tasty and had great texture. The thing about this place is that the prices are through the roof. You really need to go if you want one of their specialty concoctions. if you want just plain ice cream you could go to Baskin Robbins or, better, the grocery store for a pint of Ben and Jerry's and do just as well. read more

i am picky about ice cream. it has to be fresh and i only like a few flavors, so i really love the concept of cold stone creamery. on the spot custom-made ice cream with mix-ins like cake, cookie dough, candy, fruit, etc? how can you go wrong?! now i don't have to limit myself to simple hagen daaz strawberry or butter pecan, and i don't have to pick out the random ingredients i don't like from the busier ben & jerry's flavor options. yay! i don't indulge in a cold stone treat for myself too often, but when i do - LOOOOOVE IT! coincidentally, that's the size i always get too. (cold stone newbies, instead of small, medium or large, their sizes come in "like it," "love it," or "gotta have it." if you're new to cold stone, this is how it works: 1 - pick your ice cream flavor (they've got the usual suspects of chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, etc, but also some great others that really do taste like their names. there's cake batter, cheesecake and cotton candy, to name a few. i think there's about 10 to 15 ice creams to choose from, including a frozen yogurt and a couple of sorbets.) 2 - pick your mix-ins candy (candy bar chunks, sprinkles, gummy bears, chocolate, skittles, M&Ms, etc), syrups (chocolate, caramel, etc), baked goods (cake chunks, pie crust, brownies,graham crakers, etc), cookie dough, nuts, fruit and more. (note, the fruit is not fresh. it is the kind in syrup/liquid, or sometimes frozen.) 3 - pick your size, as described in paragraph one of this review. 4 - pick your container (cup or waffle cone bowl, though i'm pretty sure you can only get the "like it" and "love it" sizes in a cone bowl. and they cone bowls are messy/cumbersome to eat out of, though very tasty.) 5 - mosey down the counter and watch your concotion come to life as the store associate uses two instruments that aren't quite spoons but aren't quite spatulas either, to chop, blend and mold your treat together into a delightful flavor all for you. they do this on a long slab of frozen granite, which is where the chain gets its COLD STONE name from, in case you were wondering. 6 - pay and enjoy! there are several "signature creations" that you can choose from, which would allow you to skip steps 1 & 2. some of these that i like are the "that's how i roll" (cake batter ice cream, yellow cake chunks, caramel and pecans) the appropriately named "apple pie" (french vanilla ice cream, apple pie filling, caramel and graham cracker pie crust chunks), and the "strawberry blonde" (strawberry ice cream, graham cracker pie crust, strawberries and caramel). *licking lips* i am practically drooling just thinking about one now. they also sell ice cream cakes and you can get quarts of your selected/invented mix to-go if your heart/stomach so desires. so, why only 3 stars? well...the folks at this particular cold stone are SLOW. yes, i recognize that it's going to take time to hand-mix my selections into my ice cream and serve it up nicely - i've no problem with that. but i do have a problem with folks behind the counter taking more interest in their employee-to-employee [non work related] conversation than serving customers in a timely fashion. i also don't understand why there will often be 2 or 3 employees on the clock and only ONE who is actually serving customers. i work in food service. i get that there are other things the job requires of you in the back, cleaning up, stocking, etc and that it's not always about counter time. but IME when it gets busy, all hands should be on deck up front unless there is an emergency in the back. so, stop on in here for a tasty treat, but if the line is long, bring a book. and your patience (the lines are always long in the summer.) it's almost always worth the wait. read more

Today was my first time being so super disappointed in this particular Cold Stone Creamery. I live in the area so this is my family and I go to ice cream spot. My daughter and I decided to stop in today for ice cream and there was a fundraiser going on for one of the private schools in the area so it was a bit crowded. I ordered my usual and the young girl who helped me mixed my I cream then realized that she didn't put enough ice cream to make it a love it size so she decides to put a scoop of plain sweet cream ice cream on top of the founders favorite she already mixed up and hands it to me without mixing the ice cream she just added. I asked her to please mix it as I ordered founders favorite and it should all be mixed. She mixed it but was annoyed that I even asked her to that she wouldn't even look at me and just puts the ice cream on the counter. I grab the ice cream off the counter and it has globs of ice cream all over the cup and it's now all over my hands. I polity ask her to wipe the ice cream off the cup and this little nasty young girl takes her bare thumb and wipes the ice cream off. I asked the girl does she realize how unsanitary, nasty and unprofessional what she just did was and does she realize she's working in a food establishment and she looks at me shrubs her shoulders and says what. I asked her did she really think I was going to eat that after what she did. I asked to speak to a manager but another one of the workers said the manager wasn't there and kept apologizing and asked if I wanted her to remake my order but after that I wanted nothing out of there. read more

The service was a little slower than expected because they have numerous employees, but it is an ice cream shoppe an ideal teenage job. It does take a little while to make each creations as there are typically five ingredients for each. The ideal of mix-ins with ice cream is great. If you are going to expand your waistline with one divinely inspired dish go for the gusto. There are even healthy options, but I would not step 10 feet from this restaurant if I was thinking about healthy options. The prices are a little steep for ice-cream, but just say to yourself, "You only live once, so live happy!" Afterward you will be able to fit it into your budget. I had the brownie sundae and was really satisfied with the almonds rather than the peanuts option I selected and also the brownie was really good. My cousin ordered the banana crunch. I was able to taste it and with the mushed banana with the ice cream instant banana pudding. I was an instant fan of her selection as well. Worst Service Ever! We went in to the Bowie Coldstone because for my wife's birthday she got a buy one get one coupon. Now, she had trouble printing it, and had trouble with corporate, but received a different buy one get one offer in her e-mail, and was elated. She looks forward to this all year, the getting a free ice cream for her birthday, she considers it a birthday gift and it helps make her day special. After ordering our daughter's ice cream (she was very enthused) my wife placed her order. A second person came from the back (all the employees were chatting in the back, except one guy who came out to help that never said a word). The woman who came out was an older woman, probably a manager, certainly not one of the teenagers usually working there. She didn't even look at the coupon before refusing to honor it because it "didn't have page 2". My wife pointed out she followed the link from her e-mail for having trouble printing and had printed from the website, the address was clearly at the bottom of the e-mail - and there was no page 2 (it must be the e-mail that prints on 2 pages). The woman told us they were a small franchise and she can't have people bringing 10 people in and passing the coupon around. There were only three of us, paying for 2 items and getting 1 free. The woman was completely rude, cruel even, and totally stubborn, she wouldn't even look at it. My wife wound up in tears outside after being fought with and being refused her gift, while I still had to pay for my daughter's ice cream. I think they just didn't want to honor corporate's promotion, and they do so by hurting their customers. I understand not wanting to be taken advantage of, but a) you don't have to be cruel and b) you need to open your eyes and look at the situation in front of you. We used to go to this Coldstone fairly often, way more than we should based on how much the ice cream costs, but we will never set foot in the Bowie Coldstone again. Service is routinely slow, and ice cream is overpriced, but it's tasty and customizable, so usually we've been willing to deal with those things. I am absolutely baffled. I have never ever received such a harassing phone call to my personal cell phone after leaving a shop ever in my entire life! The store owner, a bit irrational if I do say so myself, Kelly, called to personally scold me because her daughter was crying in the back of her shop because I was not satisfied with my $33.00 cake purchase. This by far was the most irrational and critical phone call from someone outside of my family that I have ever received from 15754 Annapolis Rd Bowie, MD 20715 and the shop owner Kelly. I purchased a cake for my husband for his 32nd birthday. I abided by the 24 hour time line request online, successfully submitted and even prepaid for the absolute worst looking ice cream cake I have ever seen. There were one inch chunks missing from the bottom of the cake clearly exposing the yellow cake, the rich fudge ganache which is chocolate, made it very transparent of where the holes in the cake were supposed to be filled. I opened the plastic container to show the teenage girl working in the shop what I noticed, and requested that this be covered up so the entire cake remained strictly chocolate on the outside. I explained to her that this was for an adult, not a child, it cost over thirty dollars to have made, and expressed my disappointment in the quality of the product. Her casual response back to me, "this is how it is supposed to look", "when you bake a cake and pull it out of a pan pieces break off". I was floored, and explained to her that I understand this can happen to people like me when I bake a cake it happens at home, but for an establishment to sell a product with such visible flaws, justifying this that way is wrong. To my amusement, she then says to me. "I just do not understand what the issue is, cakes break" "I had to come in early to decorate this cake for you and you are not happy". Mind you, if I was a teenage girl I would not want to come in to work earlier that I had to on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. But I would NEVER of said that to a customer! She went to the back and fixed it to the best of her ability, then I left with my very unattractive looking cake, essentially a black blob with red icing on the side. After leaving the shop, with my broken, paid for cake. I pull up to my home only to receive a phone call from the store's owner. It turned out to be this girl's mother. I was not rude, I did not raise my voice, I did not insult her or call her names but you would of thought I did with how the manager of the shop attempted to speak to me on the phone. Kelly instantly said, "my daughter is in the back of our shop bawling because of you" " she cannot work right now because she is crying". Stunned is what I am. The audacity of this lady! Then she continued with "we went above and beyond for you, we had her come in early for you so your cake could be completed in time and this is how you treat us, you make my daughter cry". I then explained to the shop owner, and over protective mother that I was very unhappy with the cake, did not expect to have holes in it, and thanked her daughter for covering them up to the best of her ability. Kelly then apologized finally recognizing my level of dis-satisfaction in the quality of her product with a justification for her behavior "you know how family businesses are, we are very protective of one another". This was literally the most ridiculous conversation I have ever had! Had the store owner rejected my request, I would of gladly came into the shop and purchased one of the pretty cakes in the freezer display. They still would have had a large sale for the day, no money lost, and no tears spilt!! read more
