The Split Personality
John V.

New sourdough pizza fan! I have been wanting to try this place for a while and finally had the chance. Got the split personality to include the Authentica Papa and the 777. Having this option for specialty pizzas is awesome. The Authentica Papa definitely stood out. The thinly sliced potatoes on top were a game changer. Overall wait time wasn't too bad for walking in--about 25 minutes on a Thursday night. Tira misu was okay and wouldnt recommend. Still, impressed with this place. Good for sharing, date night, for the family. Will be back!

Margherita pizza was very yummy. Support local businesses. Would definitely come again.

spicy vodka sausage: house-made vodka sauce, mozzarella, basil, Italian sausage + red onions = $26

Newest kid in this teeny tiny strip mall. We came last Friday. It was a little chaotic, but was buzzing with lotof good energy. Pizza Parlor does not yet serve alcohol, however, you can conveniently enjoy your pizza and drink beer at Steady Brewing, located to the other end of the strip mall. We ordered the following: -TJ Panther ($26.00): house-made tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, jalapeños/Fresno Chiles, fresh cut pineapple, pickled red onion + Nuekes applewood smoked bacon -spicy vodka sausage ($26.00): house-made vodka sauce, fresh mozzarella, fresh organic basil, Italian sausage + pickled red onions The sourdough crust was banging - doughy with a nice chew. Of the two, I loved the TJ Panther more mostly because I love a good Hawaiian pizza. The version here is fire - the fresh cut pineapple adds a refreshing bite of sweetness to counter the heat from the jalapeño/Fresno chili duo. I don't often take note of the cheese situation, but the fresh mozzarella was giving the best cheese pull. Ten. Highly recommend checking this place out.

Nice clean and spacious place. It's located on the corner of the strip. Parking can be a hassle since it's a small parking for more than 5 stores there. They just opens within 10mins so their weekend wasn't available per informed by the staff. I got 1/2 pepperoni and 1/2 sausage/pepperoni for $26 which is not that at all. All their dough is sourdough so it's a twist but flavorful for sure. They do have other salads (which they are prepping), sandwiches, and desserts (not quite done yet) too but was there for the pizza. Easy order and got seated, they brought the pie out once down. Perfect size and well prepped. Thin crust (not too thin nor too big), crunchy and hot. It was great, tasty and hit all the spots since was craving for some pizza love. Great & friendly service. They have seating section with interesting wooden divider but overall, clean and good vibe.

The infamous Mexican coke and one of 3 dine-in tables

There are a lot of pizza choices in the area but let me tell you, they are not equal. This place won us over with the first visit and now it's on our rotation list. The pizza ingredients are good quality and you can tell. We got The Blanca pizza on one half, the pepperoni and pineapple on the other half and was so good. The inside is small, so most people take it to go but we grabbed one of 3 tables and got to enjoy our pizza fresh from the oven...so good. Oh, and they have the fire chocolate chip cookies!. I'm really critical of cookies having both a sweet and salty flavor and these were it. I love places that have the full experience- dinner + dessert!

Bacon jamming pizza
Stacey A.

My family has been getting to go from Pizza Parlor for a while now. We enjoy their bacon jamming pizza a lot. Recently my husband and I decided to go on a date and dine in at their location. There are a few seats inside for dine in. The music playing inside the restaurant was definitely something you'd find in my music library so I highly enjoyed that. We tried the miso Caesar salad along with our usual bacon jamming pizza. The salad was great it was just like the name suggests. We really liked the croutons which I am guessing were made out of sourdough as well? If you love pizza and sourdough try this place out.

Absolutely one of a kinda pizza menu!!! This spot does not disappointed.. staff is always on point and so welcoming!!! Great clean options and good vibes. Also a huge plus is they are Seed Oil Free!!! Side note : the best ranch I've ever had!!!

Been on the LB Pizza joint list for a while now.. Surprisingly spacious, berry courteous customer service and the pizza was well worth the funds spent. One of the staff members allowed us to try an experimental dish they've been cooking up. Very garlic (up My alley) thanks guys

Went for the first time on Pi Day. Slices were $3.14. I ordered three cheese slices. Cashier was friendly and welcoming. Will definitely be a returning customer and recommend to friends and family!

Look at the size of this slice!!

My friend and I were going to get some tacos when my friend said hey let's stop in here. We walked in and this man was making pizza She said hi and he acknowledged her. She asked if we could get a slice. It was his last 2 slices. He was kind enough to do a bogo since I wasn't prepared to spend that much. I took a bite... I think my eyes rolled back! This pizza was the BEST I have ever had! The slice was huge! The crust was Amazing, the pepperoni was perfect! We both savored our slices. I almost forgot about the tacos!! I can't wait to go back! The parlor was very cool! I loved the neon sign on the wall! They also have a lunch special! If you want Incredible tasting pizza, you've got to go to the Pizza Parlor next door to "the" taco place on Spring and Clark! Say hi to Mike the owner! He is just so cool, kind and caring with a great laugh! I hope you love it as much as we did!

Autentica papa
Ken C.

Pizza Parlor is probably one of the best options for Pizza in the Long Beach Area. What makes it special is their sourdough crust. I'll be honest that I don't always love sourdough as the flavor can often be overpowering. What's nice about their sourdough crusts is that there is nice, airy honeycomb structure in the crust without having that dominating sour characteristic. On top of this, the flavors of their pizzas are interesting. In the past, I really enjoyed their Bacon Jammin, which has bacon, bacon jam, pickled red onion, and red sauce. It sounds odd, but it's a really tasty slice. This visit, I had their Authentica Papa, which had bechamel sauce, sausage, potato, rosemary, and hot honey. The sweet honey balanced out with the salty, spicy sausage, the herby rosemary, the starchy potato, and the garlicky sauce. The firm sourdough base gave a nice chewy crunch. My wife loved the spicy vodka sausage pizza, which had mozz, spicy sausage, basil, pickled red onions, and vodka sauce over the sourdough. Again - the sour pickled onions balanced perfectly with the sweet, tangy vodka sauce and the mildly spicy, salty sausage. The balance in flavors is a huge reason that these pizzas are special. The pizzas run for about $23-26, but the quality is high and I think that the pizzas at pizza parlor are truly a special addition to the LB community.

Ask the Community - Pizza Parlor

Is there a menu for kids or a smaller pizza for them?

We sell slices from 11-3

How big are the pizzas?

Guessing an average 14-16inch.

Is this the same owners of the Ottimo Pizza that use to be here? They got similar hours, same red oven in there, and same super thin looking pizza going off the pictures.

No -New Owners and Brand new concept.

So what size is the pizza? 10 inch?

As of right now there is only one size which is 14 inches

Thunderbolt Pizza in Long Beach has become my go-to pizzeria. After trying a wide range of their…read moremenu, two dishes stand out above the rest: the Pizza Margherita and the Garlic Knots. Pizza Margherita - 5/5. This is a perfect example of the care and craft that go into their food. The crust strikes a rare balance - it has that signature leopard-spotted char and slight floppiness you'd expect from a Neapolitan-style pizza, but also delivers the chewiness and airy structure of a great New York-style slice. It never tips too far into being overly crispy or dry. What really sets it apart, though, is the sauce. While many pizzerias treat sauce as an afterthought, Thunderbolt clearly does not. Their tomato sauce is rich, vibrant, and juicy, with a depth of flavor that avoids being overly acidic, salty, or tannic. It enhances the pizza beautifully without overshadowing the dough, which is exactly how it should be. Garlic Knots - 5/5. - Easily some of the best I've had anywhere in LA. These are essentially bread rolls with a super chewy interior and a thin, lightly crusty exterior, served alongside their excellent marinara sauce. They're incredibly satisfying and consistently a crowd favorite. I've brought visitors from Japan, Germany, and New York, and every single one of them couldn't stop talking about these knots. My only small critique is that I wish they had used fresh garlic instead of canned, which would have taken them to an even higher level. Still, even as they are, they're outstanding. Overall, Thunderbolt Pizza delivers thoughtful, high-quality food that stands out in a crowded pizza scene. It's the kind of place you keep coming back to--not just because it's good, but because it's consistently memorable.

Simple food goes a long way. There were a couple of us so we grabbed a few things to share. Started off with the pretzel balls with cheese dip and honey mustard and the chips with queso cheese dip. Pretzel was tasty and outdid the queso dip. Pizzas of course which were pretty big in sizes. A couple of the pizzas and a salad did four of us with leftovers. Their Hawaiian pizza was quite tasty and was finished. We also ordered one of the mushroom pizzas with an egg. It was tasty but a little on the salty side. The arugula salad was delicious. Simple but tasty. And then there was ham pizza I believe with onions and peppercini. That was also a favorite of the night. Overall, the place was quite fun. Not a big brewery and more intimate. Overall, it was solid--sauce had good flavor, cheese was decent, and the dough was nice. Nothing mind-blowing, but definitely a respectable slice. A little more crisp on the bottom would've made a big difference. I also tried their Sicilian grandma-style focaccia pizza, and honestly, that was a huge letdown. It had this dusty, raw flour taste right away, was dry and spongy, and way overpowered with Parmesan. It just didn't come together at all--pretty disappointing, especially for the price. I've had frozen pizza that tasted better. Ended up just picking at the cheese to salvage something. On the plus side, the service was friendly and the space itself is chill--nice casual vibe with a few tables inside and outside to hang out. This turned out to be quite a pleasant surprise!!…read more My wife and I are here for a week, primarily visiting family. We're not fans of thick crust pizza, but Buono's is only a block from the Marriott Long Beach Downtown hotel where we are staying. So we decided to place an online order, and I walked over to pick it up. Week ordered a pepperoni, green pepper, and garlic pizza, and a caesar salad. It was ready in less than the estimated time. The first thing I noticed when I picked up the food. It was heavy! And when I got back to the room and took a look, wow! The salad was huge! It not only filled the plastic container, but was mounded in it with two containers of dressing. We each had a plate full of salad, and that just ate down the mound, leaving a full container for a second meal! For perspective, we ordered a caesar salad from room service in our hotel on another night. It cost nearly twice what the Buono's salad cost. And while it was good, the pricy hotel version was considerably smaller. There was nothing left over after we finished that meal. And the pizza? As I said, we usually seek out thin crust pizza. But one bite into this one changed my mind! The texture and taste was incredibly good! I'm not going to attempt to describe it, but it was far better than I expected it to be. It vaulted Buono's up our mental chart of best pizzas we have ever eaten. Buono's was not busy on this Monday evening. I hope that's not typical, because this pizza is very, very good. And we'll be having leftover pizza for lunch today, and the next round of salad for dinner along with a sandwich or something from room service. My advice. Give Buono's a try. I doubt very much that you will regret it.
