Pizza Mart is a staple to Washington, DC. While it may not be the best pizza I have ever had, this is certainly good pizza. I love the dough. It is so soft. I prefer to go for the pepperoni option. The only thing I don't like about this pizza is the sauce. It's a little sweet. But I also don't like sauce in general, so... At $6.50, this is a definite go to lunch to fill you up for the whole day. The staff is also super kind! read more

My kids didn't believe me when I said they would be okay "sharing" a slice between them. When the girls saw that one slice was almost as tall as they were... they laughed at the humor. What was especially surprising though, was the quality of the pizza. Both of my girls also verified that by announcing for everyone there, " boy dad, this is way bigger and waaay better than Domino's!" Yes, kids just say what they want, where they want. Enjoy their pizza, but come with an appetite. read more

I agree with Chris C., Pizza Mart pizza's must taste a lot better drunk. I'm new to DC and have been trying to hit the well-known eateries of DC. You know, Ben's Chili Bowl, Ray's Hell Burger, Founding Farmers, The Blue Duck Tavern. That's when I made my decision to trek out to Adams Morgan to try Pizza Mart's famous Jumbo Pizza Slices. And let me say they are impressively HUGE! But the pizza was just ok. The slice was soft, but not greasy NY soft, just kinda floppy. The sauce and cheese were nothing special. I'd rather have a Little Caesar's $5 pizza any day. I kind of regret making a special trip to Pizza Mart from Arlington, but after a night of drinking on U Street or Adams Morgan, I would definitely hit up Pizza Mart for a giant slice. They definitely get props for serving the largest pizza slices I've ever seen. read more

If you want a slice of pizza the size of your head at like 3am...come here. The pizza is fine for what pizza needs to be, the best part is watching all kinds of characters come out of the wood works for this feast. read more

ordered delivery from pizza mart, i watched the Food Wars on travel channel and recognized the person who picked up the phone as the guy i saw on the show (the brother Mike who changed the recipe of the pizza) Pizza was decent, its like an upgrade from Domino's. Sauce has a unique tang to it, the cheese is pretty generous, almost like it came with extra cheese even though we didn't order it with extra cheese. If i was ever in the Adam's Morgan area drinking at a bar, i could imagine myself getting a jumbo slice myself and devouring it, but paying for it the next day. read more

This is the best place to grab jumbo slice late night in Adams Morgan, but that isn't saying much because the quality of the pizza here and at every other joint down 18th street is pretty low to begin with. That being said, the slices are huge and contain enough grease to fill up a double shot glass. A store employee showed me the pan they cook the pizza on which no joke is 48'' in diameter. I've seen friends try to concor 2 or more and fail miserably, so don't press your luck and think you need multiple slices, especially if you're hammered. read more

Tip: don't order it "to go", they charge an extra dollar (for the box), banking on the fact that you are too drunk to notice. Not sure if they have any other shady practices up their sleeve related to the food, but I don't think I'll go back to find out. Don't waste your money here, you'll only encourage them. There are other pizza places in the area who arent trying to pull one over on you, and the Amsterdam Falafel (sp?) is amazing. read more

Pizza Mart - Pizza Near Me - Washington, DC, District of Columbia

I only called them for delivery because we just had coupons dropped at our door step. It was awful - Halfway through my order they hung up on me, assuming I was done - I had to call back and remind them I was paying with credit card and and finish my order - and then we hung up on me again. He seemed more interested in getting off the phone than keeping me as a customer. Over an hour went by so I called to check on the order - I was told to keep in mind there was traffic so he should get there eventually - then he rushed me off the phone. The delivery man forgot my drink - which would usually be fine (it is just a drink) but given what had already happened I became very peeved. What was really was was that the delivery man did bring my drink by - even though it was over an hour later. The bad thing was that he tried to make joke and really freaked me out by saying I had called the store and asked them to come back.. He eventually said 'just kidding' in an unenthusiastic voice and handed me my drink... very bizarre. The pizza was not good, whoever was on the phone was not polite, it took way over an hour to get it delivered. Maybe good when you are drunk, but don't order delivery from them! read more

What better place to go for post-drinking & post-dancing food in Adams Morgan....one word: NONE! Although, I have to put in a pitch for Amsterdam Cafe for falafels, which would be a close second after Pizza Mart in my opinion. You pay about $5 for a jumbo slice of pizza, but you're getting about 3 regular slices worth in return....so you've got the quality and quantity...whats not to love??!! I think I remember a time a few years ago when it used to be $4 dollars rather than $5 but hey i guess inflation affects everybody! FYI--this place gets pretty packed when all the clubs are closing for the night...something to keep in mind! read more

They aren't kidding when they say "Jumbo Slice". This thing is double the size of my head! I learned one very important lesson after I ate here. DO NOT, I REPEAT, EVER try to eat this sober. You will regret it the rest of the day. However, it was on my list of things to see in DC and still glad I got to experience it. It's not the greatest of quality, but it's still pizza..when it's bad it's still good. read more

SO disappointing! I had heard good things about jumbo slices of pizza in adam's morgan and I finally had my first one last night. Thank goodness I won a bet with my friend and he had to pay for my slice. Maybe I've been spoiled by Philly Pizza in Georgetown, but this was a huge shock , not in a good way. The slice, yes, it's enormous, but I don't want to eat all of it if it doesn't taste good. Not enough sauce, the crust was too crispy (aka nearly burnt). Perhaps I should have had more drinks before eating there. Either way, I don't plan on eating here again. read more

Ordered a delivery. The guy on the phone was basically completely unable to comprehend my address -- not the street name, I'm talking bout the numbers. After he got another guy on the phone and they looked at the map they finally figured out ....where Connecticut Ave. is in Cleveland Park. The pizza did get here quickly though, and it was hot, greasy and full of gooey cheese. The cheese was especially flavorful, and there was a little hint of garlic in the bite that I liked. It's not as jaw-droppingly good as Albertos, but it's way cheaper and it gets there faster. This is definitely a beer-n'-ballgame pizza. Crack open a cold one and you've got the makings of a great night. read more

Very pleased as usual. Sometimes, there is nothing like a good slice of pizza. Pizza Mart had the goods and no line to speak of. Granted I went before 6pm. There was no line no less. read more

Aside from the monster size slice the pizza is really good. Crust and sauce makes a good pizza they have both. There menue is real simple cheese or pepperoni. It's nice to see they leave spices on the counter for extra flavor. read more

Four stars when you're drunk, three stars when you're sober. Since more people probably eat here drunk rather than sober, I'll give it four stars. You will not believe how large these slices are...it's like a slice of Costco Pizza times 4 or 5. I think I expected it to not be as good as it was, but it was surprisingly good. Considering how big each slice is, you're getting a pretty good deal here. This place gets packed on Friday/Saturday nights. read more

JUMBO PIZZA! This is the spot when you need a late night pick-me-up. The slices are bigger than an average person's face and the pizza actually has good flavor. You are pretty much eating a HUGE New York style pizza. The service is pretty good as the staff members are nice and respectful. The restaurant is divey with a lot of standing room. There are seats with countertop tables at the two sides of the restaurant. However, when the place gets packed, it is best to take your pizza outside. read more

Pizza Mart is such a goddamn spectacle. I miss eating a pizza slice that's bigger than my head. I just had a traditional slice of pepperoni pizza. Tasted really good! If it were regular sized, it'd be similar to a Costco pizza. It's abnormal size, though, makes it far more superior. If you're ever in the DC area, you need to stop by The Mart! read more

Don't come here unless it is really late at night and you cannot spell the word sober. This is a great end to the night in Adams Morgan. Try it, and end your night of the right note. Side note, one of the highlights: they have beef pepperoni!!!! read more

Wow what a slice! I ordered a giant slice of cheese pizza which was very tasty. It kind of reminded me of Domino's Pizza, which isn't a bad thing because I love Domino's. Pizza Mart is located in a cool area called Adams Morgan. Just take your giant slice and explore the shops and sights around the area! - Brownie Out! read more

After a long night out on the town, Pizza Mart is a brilliant way to cap the evening. That being said, the slices are so huge (and delicious!) that you may need to stop and get antacids if you plan on hitting the sack after indulging. Being my first visit here after sampling multiple Jumbo Slices throughout the city (U Street, Shaw, Adams Morgan) I am led to the conclusion that this is hands down the best oversized pizza this city has to offer. Just the right amount of kick in the sauce, just the right amount of crisp in the crust... Pizza Mart you've won me! read more

I must say i am in LOVE with this pizza! every time i go to adams morgan i stop for a slice of this pizza! not only is it the biggest slice i've ever see had but its also dirt cheap! I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the best time to go there is after the club and your starving from all the dancing you've done! OMG i can taste it now...lmao...j/k but seriously their pizza is the best! read more

The pies are AMAZING!!!! Yes you can eat one of those slices. I thought I couldn't at first but it was so good that I downed the whole thing. There's not too much space to go in and sit but there's usually a couple spots open to sit so going with a big crowd may not be the best thing. Parking is a beast as you in DC and for that matter AdamsMorgan, which is worse. Definitely have got to go and try it. I was there Thursday and going back today!! The slice will run you about $10 w/drink. read more

I finally made it!!! Me and the bf went late night for some post move eats and it did not disappoint. The slices are huge, the cheese is melty and surprisingly the service is quite friendly. They offered us fresh extra cheesy slices when the slices they handed us were clearly victim of the heat lamp. Who would ever guess that this small shop in the cut would have the best pizza ever!!! IF you never had a jumbo slice from here before than hurry!!!! You have been deprived your entire life! This pizza was injected with some of Bond's roids. Huge, took up two plates. Not the best pizza in the world, but pretty darn good, cheap and big. All in all, not bad for DC. Great both sober and especially drunk. I will definitely go back there when in AM again. read more

I was about to vomit everywhere because I had not been drunk in, like, three months and was on painkillers that say "don't drink too much with these." Life sucked. I was going to die. And then I stumbled into Pizza Mart. Shoving that footlong slice down my face was kind of hard -- almost wanted to barf way more. But the greasy, cheesy, pepperoni-y goodness kicked in. My drunken affliction was cured! All I had to deal with was a week's worth of feeling gross every time I touched the doorknob at home, for it'd been covered in Pizza Mart residue from my stupid antics. read more

We were having a lazy night at home and decided to order in pizza. Somewhat new to the neighborhood we took a while to search through all of the recommendations and reviews. We decided on 'Pizza Mart" I can't tell you how perfect this place is! They are so considerate! How did they know my wife likes her pizza stone cold while I like to heat mine in the oven before eating it? And to guess that we like Pepsi rather than Coke (or to be able to choose!). More that anything, I was impressed by the way they get their pizza crust to taste just like hot dog buns - as though they knew that I like mustard on my pizza! I am happy that a culinary capital like DC has a pizza place to call its own! Go for Pizza Mart if you like DC style pizza. read more

Crazy, gigantic pizza! It was a terrible mistake to order a slice of pepperoni pizza for each of us. Even the guys in our group had a hard time finishing the entire slice. Yes, the slice costs $6, but you can DEFINITELY share with a friend! The pizza was tasty, and no we were not drunk. The guys behind the counter were friendly and funny. The older gentleman was so cheesy it was hilarious. He handed us our slices with a big koolaid grin stating, "Enjoy your gigannnnnntiiic slice of pizza!" he reminded me of Luigi from the Super Mario Bros. for some reason. Attempting to eat the pizza was comedy. As a matter of fact, the whole experience was comedy. read more

Yes, it's drunk people's food. But, I love their pizza sober. Of all the jumbo slice places I've been to, this is my favorite. I always get the pepperoni and it's the best $6 I've ever spent. Crust is chewy and New York-style thin. Sauce is not overly sweet (as I prefer) and pepperoni's greasy as ever. The slice is bigger than my head and I always need to share with at least one other person. Maybe one day, I'll be able to eat it by myself. Actually, nevermind, that's probably not a good idea. read more

Good: Great drunk food, Great price for the amount of food and good times. Bad: Dirty, Loud, obnoxious, ghetto ass people standing outside loitering. Pizza tastes great, at least I think it tastes great most of the times I am pretty inebriated, anyhow, they only use beef pepperoni. $5 or $5.50, that's all she wrote. read more

I'll be short about this. I was partying hard in Adams Morgan, and some friends from the area insisted that we needed to try this place out, leaving me to order a pepperoni and sausage slice. This thing was HUGE, cheesy, and though not particularly high quality, very fulfilling. Not too much to say about this place, seeing as it's not very complex, but I loved it none the less. read more

Pizza Mart - So ridiculously good... - Pizza Near Me - Washington, DC, District of Columbia

I am proud to say that I have been to multiple jumbo slice locations, and Pizza Mart is definitely the best one. I'm sure most of you know what to expect on a visit to a jumbo slice; drunken crowds, yelling, chaos, and greasy pizza that is delicious at 2AM, but you wouldn't want to get at any other time of the day. Even after a long night of drinking, I can tell that this pizza is definitely better than Pizza Boli's, or that insane location on U St. Stick to the jumbo slice, though. I tried the wings once and I could have done without them. I live nearby here now, so one time, after an early happy hour, I got my jumbo slice to go in a box, walked back to my apartment, and enjoyed it in the comfort of my own home. Classy. read more

While in DC over the weekend we decided to eat at Rumba Cafe in the outdoor area. We kept noticing people walking by with these huge slices of pizza. Quite literally one slice was equal to about 3 slices from a normal pizza place. When I asked one of the guys walking by he told me he had gotten the slice right next door at Pizza Mart. Right away we agreed this was something we needed to try later on in the night. I mean how can you now when you people eating a slice of pizza out of a regular size pizza box because it won't fit on a plate or in one of small boxes. So as planned we stopped in later on in the night and decided to share a slice of the plain. They only have 2 chooses which are plain and pepperoni so its not like we had a lot of options. The plain slice cost us $5 ($6 for pepperoni) which all things considered isn't bad at all. I mean your basically getting 3 slices for 5 dollars. I figured the pizza was probably going to be awful since it seemed to be more of a novelty then an actual enjoyable slice of pizza. I was wrong. The pizza was actually very good and was cooked perfectly. They had crushed red pepper and parmesan cheese on the counter to top your pizza off which of course I did. The outer crust is huge and not very good, but I think they have to make it this way just to support this giant slice. All in all it was a good slice and kinda just a fun experience. Check it out if your in DC. read more

For some reason I had a perverse desire to eat here sober today, and I went for it. Honestly, it was pretty decent. It's a hell of a lot tastier than Domino's or Papa John's.
