SO disappointed with this establishment and their absolute disregard for public health and safety. There were almost NO COVID-19 restaurant regulations being followed. When we just went in to pick up our pizza, NONE of the cooks or food prep employees were wearing gloves, three or four of the cooks/food prep employees were not wearing face masks, the two women at the front manning the phones and register were not wearing face masks or gloves. I am absolutely horrified, and honestly, feel unsafe consuming the food we literally just picked up. Will not be returning and will be filing a complaint with the health department. Ate here July 12 for dinner. Had the carnivore I think it's called and bread sticks. We could have done without the bread sticks, they were just so so. The pizza was really good. If you are familiar with Douglas and Saugatuck, you'lll know that there are NO chain restaurants here, but there are alot of places to try. We normally order pizza from another pizza joint in town, but we decided to give PIzza Mambo a try. We ordered carry out, and were very pleased. Pizza is thin crust (FYI). Our pizza was mushroon and pepperoni - the mushrooms were think, generously sized. The pepperoni was average (not exceptional but not bad). The bread sticks are also thin - not like the ones that come from Pizza Hut, but they were yummy!! Pizza was ready in a timely manner. we will definitely eat here again. read more

We had a fantastic dinner at Pizza Mambo! We called in our order while we were on or way, and it was just coming out of the oven when we arrived. We were warmly welcomed. We went on a beautiful fall evening and sat outside at the patio. They were patient with our little boys and had a highchair on hand for us to use. The service was great and the employees were friendly. The pizza crust is thin and crisp and the homemade marinara is delicious on the pizza as well as for dipping the parmesan coated breadsticks. Their Greek salad is large and filled with cucumbers, pickled beets, tomatoes, FETA, and red onion. It's wonderful. We were craving pizza, and searched Yelp for places to go. Darkling S's review pointed us to Pizza Mambo. The menu, with ingredients like roasted garlic and gorgonzola, enticed us to go. The pizza is fantastic -- as good as we've had anywhere. The crust is thin and delicious, and the balance of ingredients is perfect. Having big roasted garlic bulbs on my pizza made me want to weep. Be forewarned that if you want to eat in, the space is small and in a generic strip mall. There is also no liquor. But these are not complaints -- the pizza is the star of show (the salads, with gorgonzola dressing, were great, too!). read more

As an Italian raised in Chicago with some of the best pizza in the country (and I'm talking thin crust, not that so called Chicago style deep dish) I can say that my summers spent in saugatuck have been greatly enhanced since mambo opened their doors. Without question one of the best pizzas ever. You can tell the ingredients are fresh, not from Sysco or Gordon's food. The crust is perfectly thin, but has the chewiness of a new York pie. The red sauce is tangy, garlicky, but not sweet - which is the way it should be. The Italian sausage to die for. I,m a traditionalist, but my family tells me the specialty pies are fab. Last thing. The anti pasto salad is killer. Keep it up ladies....let the world know when you are going to move down the street. read more

The pizza is awesome! I am stating this as someone of Italian heritage and who grew up in New Jersey, so that compliment does not come easily. The choice of toppings is extensive and high quality. I love that there are vegetarian meat substitutes! Everyone in our group of 10 enjoyed the pizzas we ordered. We ordered delivery and the restaurant was kind enough to let us know that they were overwhelmed at the time, and that delivery might take up to 50 minutes. We were in no hurry (as should anyone be when visiting this area), and I expressed that we were patient and not to stress out. The pizzas arrived sooner than predicted, hot, and crispy. Their house made pizza sauces, specialty blend of cheeses and choice of numerous gourmet toppings add up to a truly delicious pizza. The Greek salad with its house made dressing was absolutely the best I have ever had, hands down!
