The murals are fun and they feature Iggy, the owners' dog, as well as his namesake, Iggy Pop. The menu is pretty simple with pizza, breadsticks, salads, sandwiches, and dips. I got a large grande pizza (homemade italian sausage, savory roasted broccoli, sweet & spicy pepper relish, red sauce) and an order of cheesy garlic bread. The food came out and I was so excited because it looked and smelled amazing. The pizza was huge and we had leftovers for days. I loved the charred broccoli and slightly spicy peppers. The crust was the perfect thinness and held up well to the toppings. The cheese bread was SO CHEESY and delicious--I love sesame so it made me happy that it was a sesame bread. The red sauce it came with for dipping was mouth-wateringly delicious and bursting with fresh tomato flavor. I chatted with the manager for a bit and he was so pleasant and kind. I know I said I don't get to Fennville that often, but I'd come back just for more of this pizza.

It sits right on a two-lane coastal "highway," barely 1/4 mile from Lake Michigan, but would just as likely be found in some backwater Alabama swamp (not an insult, just an ambience). They have a small deli in the back and the young unassuming young guy making pizzas and other baked goods. He seemed nice, albeit so what suspicious. There was also a quintessential old farmer-type playing lottery scratch-offs by scratching off the barcode without actually playing the game on the front, then communicating with the cashier woman on a first name basis (Sarah). What a weird experience. I'm always interested in the colorful characters these tiny little towns and their stores. The pizza? Some of the best I've found south of Holland. The sauce had a hint of sweetness, and the crust had a couple of semi burnt bubbles that added to the delicious crunch of the crust. We loved the classy, but not pretentious, vibe since many of the other spots in town have more of a dive-bar vibe. We sat at the bar to watch games on the TV, but there were plenty of tables with chairs, as well. The drinks menu is fabulous! I got a different cocktail each night and loved both. First, the Partridge in a Pine Tree. Second, a Dirty Gin Martini. Both were flavorful, high quality, and boozy. My husband tried the IPA the first night and the Pilsner the second. He loved both! I've even sent pictures to the owner (the original owners son showing no sauce). I've tried numerous ways to tell them that you should be able to taste sauce on a pizza. I've had to pay for extra sauce as a topping and even then it's NOT EXTRA it's what it normally was a couple years ago. The mushrooms on it are sparse as is the sausage The pizza last night had a weird taste. We did order pepperoni on half which we normally don't do. The sauce had a strange taste and the whole pizza had a different taste and smell. They've raised prices which I understand but you don't raise prices and not make the pizza as it's been made for years Very disappointing and not a pizza we will have anytime soon again. I know what their pizzas taste like and that pizza was NOT it. After 20+ (possibly close to 30) years of ordering it's sad that Roma is no longer the same.
