    Blue star burger
    Chris D.

I've only been here once before now, and I got a white chicken chili to go. I remember it being delicious, even though I wanted "regular" chili at the time (but it was the only place I could find chili at all). This time, I got a burger (the Blue Star, specifically) and it was absolutely delicious. Between this and Kitchen 527 (Downtown South Haven), I would have a tough time picking a favorite, but the Lodge has smash burgers, so it's dissimilar enough from a regular burger to let me compartmentalize the two tastes. Highly recommended! The fries were great too, but I smother them in ranch, so I couldn't be a true judge. Shut up ant eat it!

It's not a trip to Michigan without a stop at The Lodge! Ordered a carry out Firebird wrap on my way out of town - it was tasty! If you've never been inside, it's very open with a small bar. There's an outdoor seating area, but I've never been back there. I typically grab to-go with my family since the patio isn't dog friendly, but it's only about a 15 minute wait. I will say $15 is a little steep for a wrap and chips (+ $1 if you want the dip) but when you're camping and it's one of the best local options - it's worth it.

Great Chicken. Great atmosphere. Huge outdoor patio Friendly people. Battered Onion rings are awesome.

This is the 2nd time we'd been here. The first was right after they opened and we weren't thrilled buttttttttttt there is all kinds of hype about this place so we tried again. I had the broasted chicken, side salad and slaw. The chicken was very hot so that was good but it was dry and I didn't care for the flavor. The cole slaw was mediocre at best. My husband said the burger was ok but nothing special. The food came out very hot so it had not sat under the light to keep it warm He tried my chicken and said it was dry and wasn't even as good as the Krispy Krunchy Chicken from the gas station. Our server Kelly G was EXCELLANT in fact all the employees we came in contact with were very pleasant, smiling & courteous. There were not a lot of menu items either of us were interested in. There is a lot of hype about this place but we just weren't impressed with it at all. It was very clean and pleasant inside. We've tried twice and both agreed there won't be a third time.

Amazing friendly service with affordable good food? What a concept... everything we had was delicious. The sauces such as the carmelized onion dip, and spicy garlic was good. Chicken sandwiches were hefty and fried pickles were a good starter. I wish they had all this back in the DMV area. Place was super chill no expensive ambiance and poshness. Def a must try in South haven.

    Walleye lunch special for Lent
    Joe B.

I've been a couple times with my wife who loves the vegetarian smash burger. I've tried a couple things but this last trip they offered a Walleye fish basket and it was great. I wish it was always on the menu but was told it's a special for Lent.

We really enjoyed our first visit to The Lodge for a Saturday lunch and will definitely return when in the area again! Service was friendly and helpful with suggestions. We opted for the deviled eggs starter followed by the broasted chicken 'tendy' basket and the classic smash burger. Everything tasted great, but I can't recommend the broasted chicken 'tendies' enough; my mouth waters just thinking about them along with their amazing honey mustard dipping sauce! Note: As this was our first visit, and on a Saturday to boot, it was very busy and pretty loud; this is definitely a popular spot! If you're looking for a quieter experience (and easier parking), maybe try visiting at an off time.

Oyster crackers with ranch- just like my Mom made
    Bill T.

We had two different appetizers. The ranch oyster crackers and the buttered garlic rolls. The rolls were a special for the day and were amazing. We had the Firebird (buffalo chicken sandwich with blue cheese), quesadilla, and the Cure (Smashburger with egg). We all enjoyed our dinners. Service was good and they kept our drinks filled. Efficient with food and help. Place is fairly open, w music, laughter and lots of locals. Recommended!

Oh my. First of all, I roll in at about 2:30 on a Monday and the place is busy. Good sign! I'd heard about the deviled eggs. I went with the "traditional" and was transported back to my Momma's deviled eggs. Divine. I love fried pickles and so "had" to try those. Lightly breaded so that won points and the pickles themselves? . Ate them cold the next day, still good. I got traditional chicken tenders, cause chicken is kind of their thing. Also benefited by a light breading. But let me tell you...if you love garlic, get the spicy garlic sauce and an extra to take home and put on anything else. If you like garlic, get the spicy garlic sauce. If you don't like garlic, try it anyway. Transport to heaven. The place reflects the Lodge theme, but is not overdone. The service was awesome. Absolutely no regrets at all except that I didn't come here sooner!

I would think a place like this would have some perch or walleye entrees. Nope. Wait staff was friendly, but the menu is pretty boring.

The bread was perfectly toasted, the meat was flavorful, and everything just worked together. My husband got the club and kept saying how good it was, and both of our kids liked their kids meals. The service was great too. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and our food came out quickly. The only thing that kept this from being a full 5 stars was the ambiance. The building itself has a lot of character and is really cool from the outside, but the inside felt a little dated. Overall though, we'd definitely come back because the food and service more than made up for it!

It was raining and past the dinner rush, so we were pleasantly surprised to have no wait. We had to start with the onion rings, which are a family favorite and never disappoint. We also ordered the Mess of Perch, which is an absolute must every time we visit. My dad chose the walleye, and my son was perfectly happy with the buttered noodles from the kids' menu. The perch and walleye both come with Texas toast and your choice of side, making for a lot of food. I got the French onion soup and it was great. We left completely stuffed and already talking about our next visit. What makes Clementine's so special is that it never tries to be anything other than what it is. In a world where everything seems to change, Clementine's has stayed true to itself, and that's exactly what makes it such a cherished part of our South Haven vacation tradition year after year.

It was well marbled, properly charred , and cooked at the right temp ! A winner. Unfortunately , it was an expensive experience with a big price tag. Stay away from the double baked potato - it came highly recommended by the server. Go to the baked potato where you decide the taste. Coming from a Chicagoland dinning experience , I thought the ambiance was steakhouse appropriate . Not your Southwest dinner experience - very upscale . Our server was excellent - she did an excellent job describing the various cuts of meat and various preparations. She was always available when we needed attention . Give it a try I think you will like the steak - just be prepared for budget breaker steakhouse meal.

They all have long faces, but maybe one, she isn't our waitress. The waitress acted put out to even wait on us. The hostess had a long face too. When we left she said have a good evening! When we ordered our order we asked for salads. She asked do you want them to come out before the dinner. We replied yes, they came out when our dinner came to the table. The croutons were soggy, salad and just okay. We told her we would want a glass of wine with our dinner too, she forgot that too and didn't even mention it at all. We didn't have a chance to order one, because she never came back to check on us. We asked for a non-toasted bun for my eight year-old's burger. That came out well toasted! When we asked for a different bun, she( the waitress ) actually rolled her eyes, my mom whom very rarely comments, said that was completely unacceptable . The waitress name was Density, I believe because we heard the fun crowd behind us on a high table. They were laughing too, because they got up to get their bread. When the waitress came over to get some to go boxes. I asked her if bread was part of the meal. She said yes, would you like some. We were already finished with our meal and paying for our dinner. The waitress let us know that the cold chocolate cake was on the house, to funny! The entire experience was a trip!!! We ordered our drinks when we sat down. They took over 15 minutes., I wasn't timing the drink time, however I ended up inquiring about our drinks with the bartender. He was the manager too. I I motion for the manager/bar tender over to our table. I just said wanted to let him know about our experience. That the drinks were never even put into the system and he had no idea. He was WAY too busy chatting it up with a few locals at the bar to even care about his customers. Plus it was hard to not see how completely trashed the bar looked. The bartender/manager name is Jeremy. He was a trip in so many ways! He seemed all jacked up on something or maybe just has really bad ADHD. I get it, ADHD isn't easy to deal with at all. Either way, his lack professionalism and non-awareness was going on around him and others dining was completely unacceptable. If I was the owner, I'd be really upset. The lighting in the place was beautiful! I work in the service industry, so I know how some days can be off. I do hair and my moto is, if you can't make it then you fake it! I just can't believe the service as a high end restaurant as they describe via online as a high-end-steak place. I read the last few reviews, I don't read reviews because we all have our own experiences. Believe me when I say this about the place and so do the last several guests. The steak was good, we had the filet. The baked potato was dry and under cooked, horrible! My daughter's burger was just okay, it was over cooked too, but we didn't complain at all about the food. My mom and I both smiled when she asked about 20 minutes after getting our food, how does it taste. She forgot about my mom ordering some onion and she forgot about the salt and pepper. Well to close it out, we are BIG tippers and we didn't leave her much at all, but it was in cash. Our tips are normally 25-20:/: cash tip always, but not tonight. Sorry.:/ This place needs some serious help, whom ever owns this place needs to have a lot more awareness. Ps the bathroom had over flowing trash too. Just visiting on a mother, daughter and granddaughter vacation. We love South Haven! I would suggest Clementine's for food, fun and amazing service! More places too!:))) Think before you book a reservation!
