We've been ordering pies from Pizza Mambo for a decade now. Solid pizza option. We appreciate PM's fresh ingredients, take-out accessibility, Taft's proximity (across the street), and pleasant demeanor (even when busy). We're always happy to see some familiar faces in the back working both the dough and ovens. The pizza is thin crust, chewy and crunchy (ideal), and their Italian sausage is the crumbly/fennely kind we all love. Hey, we'd love a bit more sauce, but you can always order a side dunker. Price point is accurate for "what you get", about $25 per pie. We look forward to our next pie...or 3!

Hubby and I were in the area for tulip festival. This little gem was right down the street. We picked up to eat in our hotel. My husband only really likes thin crust and surprise surprise that's all they have there! But it's cooked on wood burning oven or at least that's what it seemed like. Great amount of toppings, light sauce as we requested, toppings were quality and tasted great! So happy! And the cost wasn't out of this world only the flavor!!

Came here for because of the good ratings but was disappointed. We ordered a large Rustico pizza. The crust was so dry and flavorless. The toppings itself didn't really taste good. There was not enough sauce under the cheese. Not worth the $25.

Decent food for the price. Took almost an hour and a half for food to be delivered, and pizza was not hot when they arrived. Fresh veggies for the wings, but not the "jumbo" size that were expected.

I loooove thin crust so was happy as a clam when I picked up my order. I ordered the Rustico + chicken. Soooo good. Yum. Yes! Service was friendly too.

We joined the line and chose to dine in. Selections of ours included egg salad and turkey and even PB&J! I tried multiple sandwiches and while they took a little while to get (they were also very busy!), we found a seat quickly, started eating our chips and did a bunch of people watching. There's water if you don't want to buy drinks but the food. Wow! The egg salad was delicious - so delicious. Turkey was also. Everything was freshly made, with high quality bread and toppings. Spot was bustling but clean and quick service considering how busy it was. Bathrooms were clean (they must have quick cleaning due to the amount of people). Quality food in a quality atmosphere. And I think they do events - the spot on one side had a sign that they were going to be closed for an event. That must be a great area for a party!

Incredible food that I'm Gibbs dream about for a few more nights yet. I had the walleye, my fiancée had the pot pie (called something else on the menu; I forget exactly what). I will just say that each bite hit the sweet, savory, and salty notes just right all at the same time. Can't forget to mention: the service was lovely. Our server was very kind, personable, and relaxed, and she offered us great recommendations, and boy am I glad I listened. I can't recommend this place enough. We rave about this place to all of our friends every year because the food is superb and the service has always been excellent. Unfortunately, today's breakfast experience completely tarnished that reputation. We were so excited to be back and ordered a full breakfast, totaling over $75. I ordered the Penny Royale Breakfast, but when I tried the sausage, it just wasn't to my taste. I politely asked our waitress if I could swap the sausage for bacon instead. To my absolute shock, her immediate response was a flat "No!" She informed me that she would not swap it because "everyone likes our sausage here" and insisted it was just a "preference thing" because they use high-quality goods. She refused to take the sausage back or accommodate the swap, stating she could only put in a separate order for a side of bacon that we would have to pay extra for. In all my years of dining out, I have never experienced such rigid, dismissive customer service. For a restaurant we love so much, it was incredibly disheartening that the staff wouldn't accommodate a simple request to keep a loyal customer happy over a piece of breakfast meat. We ultimately chose not to press the issue further because we didn't want to completely ruin what had been a peaceful morning, but the interaction left a terrible taste in our mouths. We always tip generously in cash, but today we intentionally left a minimal tip of $2 on the credit card to reflect the pathetic service. It is incredibly disappointing when a place with so many things going for them forgets that hospitality and accommodating guests with such a small request is just so important Later the same day after posting my message above on Yelp the manager responds as you can see below. In response I'd just like to say that there is no need to justify poor customer service. And a customer should not feel bad for not liking something. We are all paying customers and we should pay for the things that we like and not pay for the things that we don't like simple and easy. I just hope you do better for your customers in the future.

Once we all looked at the menu ahead of time, including the people who made the reservation, we all quickly realized it was much more upscale and limited than what most of us were looking for. Seriously, this place is for sophisticated eaters, and it is not right for everyone. Ya know, it's right for those people who like to spend hundreds of dollars not to get full and then like to gloat about how fancy their palette is because they ate at a gourmet restaurant. We all saw the movie "The Menu", right? We tried calling to cancel our reservation, but were told that cancellations within 24 hours require a $20 per person fee, which would have totaled over $200 for our group. Because of that, we decided to eat elsewhere beforehand and came here mostly for drinks or dessert; only a few people in our group ordered food. While the dishes looked beautiful and high quality, the portions were quite small for the price and felt too specific for my personal taste. I understand the concept of quality over quantity and the blending of flavors perfectly meshing together, but this menu just was not our group's vibe. There were also only a handful of very specific entree options to choose from. They do have a six-course meal option for $110 a person or a nine-course meal option for $160 a person, with wine pairings being optional for $60 more a person, but I was not about to spend $200 for dinner, nor did I want to sample every meal option they had available. I ended up just ordering the sorbet, and it was delicious. When we arrived, we were seated in a private area near the front window at a long table, which was nice in theory, but the space was extremely hot. It was uncomfortable enough that several of us commented on it throughout the night. Our waitress was professional, although it felt a bit awkward since most of us were not ordering full meals. I can understand how that may not have been ideal for a large group from a service standpoint because she was probably expecting a huge bill and, consequently, a huge tip from our party. Overall, I am sure the food is excellent for those who enjoy a more refined and curated dining experience. It just was not the right fit for our group or for me personally, and I would not choose to return on my own. I hope everyone who chooses to come here loves the food and enjoys the experience.
