This spot was so fun!! We stopped on a random weekday afternoon while passing through town. They have PIZZA FLIGHTS - this idea is absolutely genius!! You can pick up to four different pizzas that come out as one big pie! I LOVE unique pizza and always have a hard time choosing which one to try - this idea is just the absolute best!! My husband and I both chose 2 pizzas to have included in our flight - everyone wins!! :) We chose Aloha BBQ, Brickhouse Bee Sting, Curse of the Goat, and Brotherly Love. We also requested a side of ranch! They have delicious ranch! Every pizza was so tasty and we loved every single bite!! The beer choices are also great!! My husband and I both enjoyed our selections and they paired so nicely with the pizza!! My Husband chose Fog Out, a New England IPA. Great lunch spot in downtown Saugatuck! Tried the aloha bbq pizza and margarita pizza which had soft chewy crust and were loaded with toppings. Both were delicious and filling for our party of four to share. There was also a good selection of draft beers (including a sour/tart beer!) as well as regular soft drinks. Our group of 10 came in on a Sunday afternoon to grab some lunch and drinks. We sat at 2 picnic tables on the patio. Several of us tried their beers, which they enjoyed. We ordered the Margherita pizza, the Mediterranean pizza, the pickle Play bread sticks, garlic knots, the Big Show (12" pretzel with sauces). We also ordered a pizza flight, which had 4 different pizzas (no photo of that one). The Mediterranean pizza was a bit disappointing, the flavor was a bit flat. Nothing stood out, kind of bland actually. The potential was great with toppings like roasted garlic, feta, olives, artichokes, basil and balsamic glaze. It was just missing something, we thought the feta was so mild, that we wouldn't have known it was there, if we didn't see it. The Margherita pizza waa much better. The Big Show pretzel tasted great, we liked the mustard they served with it. The garlic knots were tasty. My nieces were very happy with Pickle play bread sticks, but they didn't have the panko bread crumbs like the menu says. read more

Made it a goal to check this location off the list before heading up North for another location of The Mitten Brewing. I enjoyed that it was slightly on the outside of Saugatuck so you could get away from the summer crowds. It was a cute little place offering some inside seating and outdoor seating as well. Exceptional customer service! We found this gem on Yelp. We walked by it earlier and didn't realize it was the same spot. When we walked by, the staff was sooo friendly. The staff at The Mitten Brewing truly care about their customers. I ordered a pizza to go via Yelp. I didn't get a confirmation email so I popped in before my pizza pick up time to make sure it went through. The team called Grand Rapids to make sure I didn't order at the wrong place. Once they confirmed the order wasn't there, they expedited our order. While we waited, we were able to order a drink. We snuck in a piece of pizza because we had to check into our lodging. Pesto chicken is sooo good. Not only are the people amazing and the customer service off the chain, the food is so good! Pesto pizza was just the thing we needed to take to our camp ground. What a great venue for outdoor seating and pizza! It was a beautiful evening and busy so we stopped here and they sat us outdoors. The menu has a vast selection of options (including GF and Vegan) and the 4 of us ordered 2. They were both delicious. The crust is def homemade and just enough crunch w/out being doughy. Our airbnb host recommended this small little restaurant. We can on a Friday night and parking was not bad. However, since it is a small restaurant, there was very limited seating. My friends and I ordered drinks from the bar and found a high table and situated ourselves there while waiting for our pizza. We got beer flights and the beers were all tasty. Celiac Foodie: Overall a good experience. Walking downtown Saugatuck stopped in to check out this Brewery to see if they offer Gluten Free items. Spoke to Drew, very knowledgeable on Cross Contamination, explained how the kitchen treats the GF dough & other options. Small indoor seating area with tables, low & high top, flat screen TVs showing sports and napkins on the table. Paper plates and plastic silverware are provided. Service was slow once we seated. Tried a sample of the Sangria and Cider that are Gluten Free. Very smooth & delicious. Ordered the Gluten Free Crust Pizza with Ham and Extra Pineapple. Sauce had a spice, very tasty and crust was slightly doughy in the center but with crisp edge. May have needed to be cooked a little longer. No illness from consuming product. First let me say that while the beer is very good, the reason I come here is because The Mitten has excellent pizza. Several speciality types as well as build your own. I love the outdoor seating area. This is a perfect place to get pizza and a beer (or 3) on a nice sunny afternoon. And it's dog friendly, so don't hesitate to bring Fido. I do wish they would improve their hours as this would be a great place to grab lunch. The only downside is that parking is at a premium in the summer. But that's true of any downtown Saugatuck establishments. read more

The Mitten has the nicest staff! It's so rare these days, but that alone is a great reason to visit. I came here with friends last weekend and was happy to see it was steady but not crazy busy. We were able to snag a few benches around a fire pit to seat our group of 8 outside. Dog friendly made it the perfect spot! While there, I enjoyed a glass of their red sangria, made with their cider. I love Mitten Brewery and their beautiful hazy IPAs. Hop Hustle and Fog Out are our favorites! We come here from Indiana at least once a year to enjoy the beer, pizza and patio. It never disappoints. Jim and I love the chill vibes of this spot! It's like I'm visiting a friends backyard! We took full advantage of the unusual 60 degree weather and soaked up as much rays as possible on The Mitten's Deck. It was glorious! When you walk in you grab a seat anywhere and order at the bar. We opted for the pizza flight which was served as a whole pie hmmmm different but I liked it! Here what we got : Aloha BBQ Mediterranean Margarita Supreme The crust was well seasoned and crispy, you can tell this is their specialty! The ingredients were all fresh tasting too! I have found my bliss. I love good pizza and I often have trouble making up my mind when dining out because so much sounds so delicious to me. I've convinced myself that The Mitten Brewing's Pizza Flight was essentially created with me in mind. My husband and I shared a flight made up of the following delectable pizza choices: Margherita (tomato basil sauce, fresh mozzarella, Roma tomatoes, fresh basil, and hop salt), Pesto Chicken (house-made pesto, pulled chicken, red onions, seasoned artichoke hearts, sliced cremini mushrooms, and mozzarella), Field of Greens (house-made pesto, seasoned artichoke hearts, broccoli, green peppers, roasted garlic, feta, fresh basil, sliced cremini mushrooms, Roma tomatoes, and mozzarella, and Curse of the Goat (tomato basil sauce, sausage, goat cheese, fresh basil, and peppadew peppers). Neither of us had any particular favorite, they were each excellent. I'm not a beer drinker, so I was completely there for the pizza, but the gentlemen in our group enjoyed a porter and a hazy IPA (which smelled very grapefruity) to go with it, which they both enjoyed. The servers were friendly, and service was a bit slow, but we were in no rush whatsoever. The laid-back summer atmosphere was perfect after a great day of hiking in Saugatuck Dunes State Park with friends (hence why I make no apologies for all the pizza I ate). We had a great pizza dinner (and giant pretzel) visit here during a recent visit to SW Michigan. It was the giant pretzel photos on Yelp that drew me in. The live, in-person pretzel did not disappoint either. We had it served up with marinara, beer cheese and mustard. I especially loved the beer cheese. The outdoor picnic space was perfect for the fall afternoon. They had a handful of picnic tables with umbrellas and a seated area around a fire pit. We couldn't have asked for a better setting. Last but not least, our two pizzas were both delicious. I was impressed that they even offered vegan cheese options.
