Their patio is very pleasant and a fantastic place to sit on a beautiful summer evening. We had the Pickle Play bread which was good but only for pickle lovers. We also had the Pizza Flight that included 6 different kinds of pizza. Of the 6, I would probably only order half again. Service was friendly but was very slow to get our pizza. They had a problem with part of our pizza flight so only 2 of 6 came out first but they took something off our bill.
I ordered a pizza and six pack of beer to go. Both were fabulous. The pizza has such fresh quality ingredients, including whole roasted garlic cloves and really great mozzarella cheese.
Definitely lived up to everyone's high reviews! Loved the ambience and baseball theme. There was more seating than I'd thought, both indoor and outdoor! The beer was amazing, I loved the hazy IPA. Soft pretzel and chicken cesar salad were amazing. Next time we'll definitely try the pizza flight, it looked so good! Will definitely be back for the good service, chill atmosphere and amazing food/drink.
A great brewery to get a refreshing beer and a phenomenal pizza! Friendly and casual atmosphere and all the staff are happy to help. All the pizzas taste great (including their vegan variations) and they have some unique and fun pizza combinations - give them a try next time you're in GR!
We had 2 pizza flights so we tried almost all of them! The special of the day was a strawberry fields pizza with fresh strawberries & balsamic! The goat cheese pizza was also a hit! The one with the pork and Cajun aioli was so surprising! If you eat pork don't avoid it. They get their pork from across the road at too short and the aioli is soooo good. The outside seating is a fun environment it's cute and shaded. They have a long list of what's on tap! The service was super quick everything came out expeditiously and was hot and fresh. The pickle bread as an appetizer was something new- didn't love the siracha but the ranch was amazing and made up for it
Amazing beer and pizza selection. I was amazed by the deliciousness of both. They were very accommodating for my group of 50 and I'd recommend them over & over again. The assigned bartender was efficient and the space for our group fit like a glove or rather mitten.

Very cool brewery right off the highway in Grand Rapids. It has indoor and outdoor seating, when the weather is nice, the outdoor patio is ideal, really cool area. They allow you to do pizza flights, which is really cool, I've never heard of any other place doing that. It allows you to try so many different flavors. I forget all the ones we ordered, but they were all good, had a variety of different meats and toppings. In terms of beer, I got the fogout and the hop hustle, both really good. I ended up getting a 4pack of the fogout to go, and my friends enjoyed it as well. Inside there's a lot of cool sports memorabilia on the wall, including a 1907 World Series program, featuring the Cubs and Tigers. So cool to see! Highly recommend if you live in the area, or just are passing through and need a good place to stop at.

There were 3 of us eating and we took a lot home (we did also order their pickle breadsticks!) The Mac Daddy pizza was my favorite, but they were all great. There was no wait for a table, but the patio is opened up now, so there's lots more space! (I believe the patio is bar service only- or it was that day at least. I'd say just check first!)

I'd already been to another brewery before this one so I don't remember much of The Mitten's interior, though it seemed rustic. Staff there was super cool, took good care of me. I got a flight. THE FLIGHT BOARD WAS SHAPED LIKE A MITTEN! How adorable! I drank the flight. I paid and left. Would return.
The Mitten is one of my fav spots for pizza in GR and I always forget to take pics when I'm here because I am too hungry when I go to think about it! I don't think I've ever gotten food here that I don't like but recently, I have started ordering salads and I am honestly surprised at how simple but GOOD they are! Like, their ingredients are so good and fresh that I absolutely love it! Not overly dressed and overdone, but well presented! I know that sounds silly but I feel like that should be something that people should really appreciate about a salad. Also, for the cost, you would think that it would be small... no, it's huge and you can easily share! I really need to come back with more people so I can get the pizza flight and try more of their flavors as I usually only come with my boyfriend and we get one pizza to share as we are trying not to have a billion pieces of pizza for leftover as we're trying to be "healthier" or something (hence ordering salads more often), but I always love the vibes here and the people are wonderful! There's probably going to be a wait but if they actually turn on Yelp waitlist, it's clutch and you can join it from the comfort of your own home!

What a find! Came in for lunch on Saturday, 9/26/26 around 12:30pm. We sat at a table for a change and were waited on by a fantastic woman - whose name I can't remember (I really need to do better with this). To drink he had the Sodfather that he joked was actually made with sod as it smelled very "earthy". Not a highlight for either of us. For a "light" beer it was skunky and surprisingly hoppy. I had the Sparking Anderson seltzer and was pleased with it. It was a watermelon lime (I think?) and it had the right ratio of flavor to fizz for me. The absolute highlight was the PIZZA FLIGHT. What the what!? We have never heard of such a thing and we were so excited! This gave us an opportunity to try some flavors/kinds we likely would not have tried otherwise. Each kind of pizza had 4 slices, which we assumed would be about 2 bites per piece, but they were bigger than that. Each flight serves 4+ people, but for the price, $35 )if I remember right) is a hell of a deal. Being there early afternoon there were a lot of tables with kids, and when you figure you can feed your family for that price - this makes Mitten Brewing a no brainer. The pizza was some of the best I've had - for that specific style of pizza. The crust was flatbread style, chewy and such a good flavor. We should have asked for a side ranch to dip the crust in, it was that good. We will absolutely go back when we have the chance. read more

Love this place! I've been here several times, but never reviewed. The beer selection is incredible with loads to choose from. I typically lean towards IPAs, and they have several. My wife likes pilsners and martzens, and she loved here German-style beer as well. The pizza is top-notch - that's what keeps us coming back. We had a few pizzas on their back deck and loved the ambiance. The pizza was delicious as well. My daughter's favorite thing on the menu is their garlic knots. The were gone before I could grab a photo. This is a great place to meet friends and enjoy the Westside neighborhood. read more

Hands down, the best pizza in Grand Rapids. I moved from Chicago and we have been on a quest trying to find our "go to" pizza. After months of searching. The torturous exercise of trying dozens of pizza... we have done it! We have found it! BEST PIZZA. Highly recommend pulling up a seat at the bar. Have Don pour a delicious flight of beers. And good luck trying to pick which pizzas to include in the flight. And they have a patio in the back that is dog friendly! Absolute winner of a place. read more

We would order pick up from this restaurant during COVID pretty often and loved all the pizza options. I had forgotten how welcoming and cozy the restaurant is. The decor is all baseball themed. Since this is a microbrewery there are a ton of drink options and flights to choose from. Their pizza is excellent and the many options are all wonderful. If you love a cheesy pizza this is a great place because you get an amazing cheese pull. Our go to items include the cheese breadsticks, Pepperoni pizza, the huge pretzel from the starter menu and of course their amazing pepperoni and jalapeno stromboli. All the items are buttery, salty, and so cheesy! The restaurant layout mainly has table seating and offers high chairs for kids. If you need a handicap parking space they offer one spot on the side of their building with a ramp entrance. If you come through the main doors you do have to step down into the restaurant (one step). Other parking options include side street or finding local lots in the area and walking to the restaurant. They also offer great customer service from the host to the server. They both made the visit enjoyable. We went on a Sunday and the restaurant was somewhat busy but before we asked for drinks the server was already coming with water! They were on top of it. The prices are also very comparable to local pizza places and chain restaurants too. Our pepperoni pizza was $13.99 and the cheese breadsticks were $10.99. Overall a great experience and we will definitely be back. read more

If you're in Grand Rapids, the Mitten is a must. The converted old firehouse is a great venue on Leonard Street. Fabulous beer, pizza, and food in this sports themed venue.. drink some quality unique beer here. Flights are served in a mitten, Michigan state shaped holder. Also, take notice of the pole that once took fireman from the second floor to the first. read more

First time here after passing by for years and years! We ordered the pizza flight and each got a flight of beer. Each pizza type you order is cut into 4 squares, and I believe you can order up to 6 different kinds to sample. The pizzas came out on a long tray and were perfect snacking size. For the flight, you can order up to 6 different tasters. The mango one was our favorite (I can't remember the exact name now). read more

I have been going to The Mitten Brewing Co. for a number of years before going vegan on family trips to western Michigan. It was always an incredible experience. However, I hadn't been in a couple of years, and this was my first experience since going vegan. I let the friendly and awesome bar maid pick my dinner as long as it was vegan. She chose the vegan Pesto Chicken. It was so good! The crust is thin and crispy, they didn't skimp on the toppings, and the vegan "chicken" is some of the best I've ever had! I did inquire about it, and found that it is a soy and wheat based product. This pizza was so good I sat and ate the entire thing by myself! The atmosphere at Mitten is so fun and lively! The baseball theme is a blast! I'm so glad they have all of the vegan options and that it's a place I can continue to enjoy when in the area! read more
Can I just say I love Mitten Brewing! You get to sample 6 (yes, S-I-X) beers! They even have root beer! All very refreshing. Their white peach is crisp too. Okay, beer part is done. Are you ready for their pizza? You better be because it's gonna take you to another planet on how good it is! We had the field of greens (made on a kids size because we had dinner plans later). Also I love the Michigan paraphernalia and sports memorabilia decorated throughout the building. Plenty of TVs to keep everyone entertained too. We got there around 5 pm and beat the rush which made all the difference for service. On our exit, the line was out the door. Detroit deep dish is one thing, but this is some premium pizza.
