Funky dog and Koegel dog with side of potato salad
    Pat P.

We had a lunch date at our favorite brewery today! They recently added four Koegel dogs on a delicious bun for $3, $4 and $5. Amazing price!! The potato salad has a hint of blue cheese and is yummy! The menu is extensive with nachos, sliders, tacos, Reuben's and other handhelds. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere is cozy and fun.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have live music several nights a week at 7pm.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our servers Christine and Mel are friendly and fun! Besides beer they have ciders, sangria and fun cocktails. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great atmosphere and great food!!![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Came for dinner during the week and thought it was decent. Nothing spectacular but it was fine otherwise. They have a really cool space with quite a few tables inside and an outdoor area with casual seating. I had their solshine beer and it says on the menu that it's an American wheat but dang this tasted so hoppy. It tasted like an IPA to me. My friends and I split the deviled eggs and these were very good! It's hard to go wrong with deviled eggs and they hit the spot. For my entree I had the west side dip which is a roast beef sandwich served with au jus to dip in. Like I said before, it was fine! Nothing crazy. Servers kept coming to check on us to make sure we had what we needed which was nice. Everything was fairly priced. I wish they had fries as an option instead of chips!

I cannot stop thinking about the fluffy Nantucket bread my sandwich came on. I got the jive chicken, which was a tad spicy for me, and it was delicious. We also ordered chips and salsa to share. Prices are a bit up there for a sandwich where you still have to pay for a side but you definitely will be full. Beers are good with a good variety of crafts. I love how much they advertise that their outdoor patio is dog friendly.

The food was very tasty and delicious. Nachos to start was an excellent choice and most chips were loaded which is the sign of a good dish! Also had some in home sauces to add for an extra flavor and kick! (One mild and one hot) Our sandwiches were equally packed with flavor and prepared fresh. The service was friendly and comfortable, got a little busy and would have liked another beer but wasn't sure with wait time. Pretty solid beer and cider etc list to choose from! Would definitely recommend when in the area.

Almost Famous, maple brisket slider and Mac and cheese

I was surprised by the variety and selection offered. They had everything from lagers to Imperial IPAs. I chose Almost Famous which is a delightful and strong chocolate coffee oatmeal stout. It was robust and full of flavor. I'd definitely go back for the beer. Dinner was the maple brisket slider and a cup of Mac and cheese. The slider was tasty but Mac and cheese disappointing. Not sure how to describe it but the cheese was off.

I don't understand this is the original brew master that made Founders what it is today. I thought the beer was nothing special at all. Kind of like drinking very dry champagne. For a Saturday night it wa kind of dead even though it's a few miles from downtown in a place you really have no reason being there unless your going there. Off the beaten path a bit, but worth a taste if you're over that way

Since my last visit the have added more seating inside & expanded the food offerings. Food was good & beer was good - pretty small tap list with a few ciders. The Kona Brown was delish! Parking still not awesome- small lot & fills fast. Busy on a Friday night but we were able to grab 2/3 of a community table (Wich are convenient!) Service was good - lots of ppl checking in w us & offering refills or taking empties. Food came out quickly!

I was visiting my sister and we decided to go to a brewery. I didn't feel they had a lot of choices. The beer they did have was very good. They were not serving food but did have snacks. Our favorite was chips and dill dip. The dip was full of flavor. The staff was helpful

Many brands were local that I'd never heard of before, and it was fun to experiment and try new things. Their food menu honestly shocked me with how tasty everything was. For a board game bar, I usually expect food to take a back seat or be phoned in, but everything was delicious! I had to try the elote deviled eggs, which was a combo I had never considered but I'm so glad someone did! I also got the truffle mac and cheese and a house salad. Both were excellent! The board game selection was extensive, with old favorites and hidden gems. If I'm ever back in the area, I'll be sure to stop in again!

Unfortunately, the food, beer, and service were all just okay for me. The beers were pretty mediocre, and we tried the duck confit nachos, which sounded much more exciting than they actually were. They were fine, but nothing particularly special or memorable. Service was also mediocre. We had a pretty large group, so I'm sure that didn't make things easier, but we waited about an hour and a half just to be seated. Part of our group was made up of small children, and it seemed like we could have been accommodated sooner given that there was plenty of flexibility with our seating. Overall, I really wanted to love Brewery Vivant because the atmosphere is so unique, but the experience just didn't live up to the setting. I'm not sure I'd go out of my way to come back.

The staff were friendly and we appreciated "The Library" filled with games and books. I was nostalgic and read Hunter's Guide to 1996 Michigan complete with a recommendation to stop at the now obsolete Pleasure Island Water Park. That used to be my absolute favorite getaway as a kid! We ordered arancini as a starter that came out tasting crisp like a tator tot, but the shape and taste actually reminded me more of a fried tteokbokki (Korean rice noodle) known for its deliciousness through its texture highlighting the spicy sauce. This would've been amazing had they had a nice gochujang mayo combo to dip this crispy treasure in, rather than ranch and pizza sauce. Next we tried the tikka masala pizza. Fun and inventive idea... much better than the naan pizza I had in Muskegon... however the sauce didn't taste as good as my homemade tikka masala base and though the pizza was tasty with varied texture, we found it somewhat lacked seasoning especially on the protein. If I were to construct it, instead of potato I would've had chicken, red pepper, cilantro, fresh avocado and pickled onion. Yum! To drink, I enjoyed a refreshing ginger Kombucha sourced from Walker Brothers in Nashville Tennessee. The kids loved their cheese pizza and cheese smash burger with fries and drinks. Overall, great first experience and would love to come back as it seems like they are constantly reinventing themselves with tasty morsels and brews. If you come, there is free parking in the back. If you love it here there is a $150 lifetime membership (not sure what that all entails but sounds special). Thanks 7 Monks, we will be back!
