Ordered the Bianca and was told to pick up in 35 min. When I arrived they noted that they were just starting to make the pizza and it would take another 15-20 minutes. No discount, or free item offered- which just isn't good practice. Also need to mention that when I called to order the small and medium pizzas reportedly were not available, only Larges and salads . Wonder if this is their way to jack up the price of the sale. Pizza was good, experience not so much, and no apology or sign of good faoffered. read more

Even though it took a while for the pizza to cook, Pizza Mambo was a good choice especially after a long day of drinking. We had order the 16" El Supremo which consists of marinara sauce, italian sausage, pepperoni, green peppers, onions, mushrooms, black olives, and cheese. Seating inside is really small (a 2 seater table), they do have outdoor picnic tables. We did a 'pick-up' on a Friday night (July 16, 2021). Ordered pizza at 6 pm& it was ready by 7 pm. But, we planned it. They are very busy on the weekends. Their phone is ringing off the hook, so plan ahead. We always order the El Supremo. Their pizza sauce/sausage is a little spicier, but it's not overbearing. It is awesome, we love it. Can't recommend it enough! read more

Ordered 2 pizzas and breadsticks. Rústico pizza and breadsticks were fine / tasty. Aloha pizza was a disaster - first, it was missing the pineapple entirely (and the pineapple is KEY in these types of pizzas). Second, it skimped on the Canadian bacon - could barely taste it. Third, it was burnt (and that was not the case with the rustico). They should have thrown away the pizza and re make it but I guess they tried to go with the easy profit without delivering quality. Phenomenal pizza and great service. Our family ate outside after the dunes ride. We had the breadsticks and a 16 inch cheese pizza. The breadsticks were brought out as soon as they were done and we had our pizza in less than 25 minutes. Highly recommend you check it out if you're in the area. read more

Though we frequent Saugatuck and Douglas often, my husband and I hadn't tried Pizza Mambo until recently. We can't say enough about the prompt and kind service, the fun menu and the delicious food! We are big lovers of thin, CRISPY crust, and that is exactly how it came out! We did the pizza with BBQ chicken and absolutely loved it--we thought we'd only have half of it but ended up finishing the entire thing because it was so good. The staff was wonderful--even came over to ask if we were warm enough, as we were sitting by the door. Run, don't walk to this total gem -- we will be back to soon! read more

First try, they are out of pizza dough an hour and a half before closing time. Lame, but I guess that can happen. Not sure why, but we tried again the next day. This time three hours before closing. Yep, no pizza dough once again. The guy at the counter seemed to think it was funny. Terrible attitude. Terrible customer service. And apparently terrible and ordering basic supplies. Ordered take-out the other night while on vacation. Cute little place when I picked it up, although they didn't seem to know what they were doing. The Good: lasagna with Bolognese sauce was FANTASTIC! Sauce was amazing. Pizza was good too, nice sweet sauce. Kids liked it. The Bad: white chocolate raspberry cheesecake was definitely store-bought, tasted OK. The Ugly: house salads were terrible. Big chunks of romaine lettuce, vinaigrette wasn't good and too oily, and not even close to enough dressing was given for either salad. Ranch dressing was decent. Highly recommend switching to a spring mix lettuce with a more unique homemade vinaigrette and thinner onion and cucumber slices. Otherwise, don't charge $9 for the house salad. Overall, 4 stars because they nailed their staples (pizza and lasagna). They seemed like they just opened recently so have some growing pains (salads) and need to fix the little things. read more

While I was in this resort area buying pastries and bread from Caravanserai in Saugatuck (see my review), I met my friend Lark and his son Julian for lunch at Wild Dog in Douglas. He raved about the pizza and the two of them are reliable sources of food advice, so ... after a delicious salad and a visit to our favorite Old Farmhouse antique shop, i headed back to Blue Stary Highway to try it ... because while my first love is good pastry and bread, my second is pizza! As one who enjoys unusual but unique and certainly tasteful pizza - eg, Pequod's on Clybourn - I found this to be one of the best in the coastal area of southwestern Michigan. Their crust is thin and chewy and fresh. Their ingredients are myriad from the usual to the quirky and the service is great. So next time you are visiting the resorts around Holland and Saugatuck-Douglas, get off the main street and indulge! read more

The pizza was very average. I expected a little better, given the lack of focus on ambience. Our pepperoni thincrust was no better than the store bought pizza we make at home. In response to Kenneth, the owner's response--I stand by my review and what I said. My friend's husband and I were the ones that interacted with you directly, and I know what I heard. It was that "per the governor's mandate, we cannot seat outside." Refute that all you want, but that is the fact. I know this because I immediately googled whether or not different counties in MI had different seating policies to corroborate what you told us. Furthermore, regardless of what you said or didn't say, you had your front door open prior to 4pm. You saw a group of 10 people waiting at your front patio gate waiting for it to be unlocked, clearly to be seated. You could have politely told us that it was carryout only, rather than letting us loiter around, wasting our time, especially with having little kids. You waited until not only was it 4pm, but you unlocked the patio gate, and then waited for us to ask to be seated. Who does that?? read more
