Finding this place tucked back between a brickyard and "Fast Eddie's Saloon" is well worth the hunt. The staff is friendly. Everyone from the delivery guy on his way back in from a drop-off to the manager tossing the dough in the back gave us a smile and a "what's up?!" The food is great too. I had the pepperoni roll, followed by garlic knots, followed by a small all-meat pizza. While I waddled out of the place with an overstuffed stomach and a spot of sauce on my shirt, I had a huge smile on my face. Just arrived in New York a few hours ago. After the 10 hour drive all I could think about was that delicious New York pizza that I had back in 07 during a JFK 3 day layover coming back from Spain. If you've never had the pizza out here let me tell you, they know how to do it. We arrived at our hotel and I immediately began my search for a local pizza place. I found Pizza & Stuff was only 2 minutes away from the hotel here in Fishkill and it had good reviews so we stopped in. I looked at the pizza menu and was instantly drawn to the lasagna pizza. "What in the world could that be?" I wondered. The guy described what it was and I was sold. Ricotta mixed with the sauce, mozzarella, italian sausage, and meatballs. I added green pepper to that and ordered. My wife ordered a veggie pizza because she doesnt eat the pork, and a side salad. I'm going to jump ahead here. We get this pizza to our hotel and, OMG! Delicious! Here in NY when you get sausage on a pizza its a whole sausage sliced in thin strips lengthwise and the meatballs were like 2 1/2" diameter and prepared the same way. The green pepper was sliced paper thin and covered the entire pie. Pure mouth watering pizza goodness, better than the one I had back in 07. Now, why only 3 stars? Because for our 2 medium pizzas, a SIDE salad, and a soda... ready for this... $50!!!! I seriously almost walked out when he told us our total, which of course we only found out about after our pizzas were ready. They also don't take charge, so thankfully we had the $50 cash between us. So over all, the pizza was outstanding. A half day's wages outstanding? Arguable. A very light, thin and crispy crust, well fired in a hot oven, and the right mix of simple crushed tomatoes and quality mozzarella. That's all a good plain pie should be. There's a reason this place has been in business so long even though its not on a major road/highway. Pizza and Stuff makes a delicious pie, easily the best around. Their sandwiches/subs are also phenomenal, made on breads that you cannot find anywhere north of the Bronx/Yonkers, with the exception of the tasty breads made at Mario's in Hopewell. If you know your pizza or if you grew up in any of the boroughs, moved up here to the Hudson Valley and are still looking for that great slice of pizza, this is your place. read more
