The chicken/potato dumpling is stellar. The perfect combination of carrots and vegetables and truly a well thought out, elevated dish. *Flank steak dish with poutine was alright. Good for what it was. *Food took 40 minutes to come out, which is a long time when you didn't order appetizers. Waitress made eye contact and realized we weren't served, but didn't approach us to check-in intentionally because she could tell there was a delay. The delay would make sense if it weren't for the fact that we got in as soon as the restaurant opened, on a weekday. Anyway, the chicken potato dumpling dish is the saver of this review. Would come back for it.

Upstate NY for a 30th birthday trip. The excitement was unmatched walking into the building. Peeking in the back where the beer is made, so cool. The open room of the venue itself was nice as well. Lots of merch, lots of beer to go. We purchased two crew necks, a hat, and some beer. The staff behind the bar were able to help answer any and all questions that we gave to them. THEN we sat down to eat. Juice Bomb pint (obviously) and a Happier Hours pint. Started with the chilequiles tater tots and holy heck those were delicious. We also ended up getting the Porky's Revenge sandwich and Sloop Smashed Burger....no photos though because we were too excited to eat!

Being from NYC area I am used to places having tons of competition or there being plenty of alternatives. It kept spitting out the quarters we put in except one so we had to go back to the car. Well the damn machine just took the quarter and timed out. What a scam. We could only get bills to work so we had to put in $2 and of course, it didn't give change. The place is inside The Academy and I can see where they were trying to go with the idea, but it has fallen flat. No one was in there at lunch time. Literally no one. The smash burger did not have crisp edges like a good smash burger should. It was just soggy and mashed together. It was very unappetizing. The fries were alright as well as the strawberry lemonade. They're already premade in the fridge. The Academy building does have bathrooms inside, but again, it's not well taken care of. There were no paper towels, toilet paper was just sitting on top of the dispenser rather than inside it. It's like they just abandoned the idea.

I love the convenience of the kiosk ordering. Service was very quick, and everyone on staff was so kind and helpful. I was blown away by their gluten-free menu. They offer gluten-free buns for burgers and sandwiches, gluten-free crispy chicken, and even gluten-free desserts. I tried the Turtle Pie and the Lemon Raspberry Pie--both were delicious, but the Turtle Pie was truly to die for. This was hands down one of the best burgers and fries I've ever had. Gluten-free bread can really make or break a meal, and this place does it right. The gluten-free bun tasted fresh and delicious, the burger itself was incredibly juicy and flavorful, and the basil aioli was insanely good. I also ordered their specialty Cherry Cream Cola, and it was so good that I had to get a second one. It tasted like a fresh, sweet Cherry Coke and was the perfect accompaniment to the meal. I sat outside and brought my dog, and one of the staff members even came out with a bowl of water for him. Such a thoughtful touch that made us feel so welcome. It being dog-friendly is definitely a huge bonus for me. Amazing food, wonderful service, and one of the best gluten-free experiences I've had. I can't wait to come back!
