Took me a while check out the menu but I was not rushed, settled on spaghetti with meatball parmigiana and steamed mussels in fra diavolo sauce. The mussels to which I was surprised they use the green mussels which rare to see over the black mussels since they are more expensive abs have more meat, a huge plus, we're cooked perfectly and man the sauce, best I ever had of the fra diavolo sauce, spicy but not overkill, well seasoned and plenty of diced onions and minced garlic, wish I had a jar of it. Now meatball spaghetti honestly feel bit short, the spaghetti itself was alright, the sauce well it was bit bland and meatball were very dry sadly, honestly I poured the mussels sauce left over on top and it was way better for it. I have been eating at Primos for almost 5 years now and they have always been delicious. The portions are great and the staff is very friendly. I personally like a crispy bottom pizza with a stretchy cheese on top and don't get that from this restaurant, however this does not deter me from the restaurant. It's never super busy and their prices are fair. It definitely hits my top 3 in best pizza spots in the location. My fiancé and I once bought a pizza from all the local spots and did a challenge taste test for what we thought was the best and this hit the top 3. Their beef Pattie's are really good though!! I'm getting tired of the pizza here. Prices have gone up & I'm getting less pizza. It's like the famous grocery shrink ray making its way to this pizza joint. You pay more money for less product. I liked this pizza but pies have gotten really thin here. Now for $13 you get a large very thin crust pizza with no mass to it. I'm an average sized guy & pizza is so thin I could probably eat an entire pie by myself. I cannot eat a pie of pizza from anywhere else but here pizza is insanely thin. We live right down the road from this place and have been coming here for years. The pizza is the best in Orange County by far. It ranges between 7.8 and 8.2. The best experience is to order a large plain pie and eat it at the restaurant. Don't let it go into a cardboard box and take it home to eat. Steam ruins great pizza. We discovered Primo's after deciding that we wanted an easy dinner after traveling down here to visit family. Had a little trouble submitting our order online, but called and after less than 30 minutes and a quick ride, found ourselves in a clean restaurant and a smiling person waiting for us. We had ordered the Primavera pizza and a small tossed salad. All salad ingredients were fresh with a generous dressing on the side. The pizza crust was thin but handled the ingredients easily. And the flavor and texture of the crust was just what we wanted. All ingredients were present but not loaded onto the pizza and the sauce was restrained in amount but huge in flavor. We will be back. Pizza is thin which is not a bad thing. Cheese and sauce is just the right amount and not greasy. Crust is bland and dry but a nice crunch. Price is a little steep for a large cheese pizza given the size and thickness of the pie. I would of gave them 4 stars but there is a large sign on door saying no mask no service which given the times we are living in makes sense. We've had success with a couple dishes from Primos in the last, such as ravioli and penne al la vodka. But tonight was a different story. I would hope with Covid-19 going on and most of their business being takeout, the food would be on point. Out of $70 we spent, we only consumed probably $20 of it. Beware their garlic bread, I should have read reviews before ordering it. Its raw! The bread is not baked, it is smeared with melted butter and has probably half a clove of raw garlic per bite. We also had their pasta primavera. Having had primavera plenty of times in our lives, we thought we know what we were getting. What we received was basically soggy stir fry with an inch of oil on the bottom...completely inedible. The pies are thin crust, not too rich yet also tasty, not too oily, and not full of garlic flavor (if garlic is your thing you're gonna want to add garlic powder on your slice(s).) Primos Pizza is a great place for dinner, lunch or even a quick slice. They have many different pizzas that you can get a slice of instead of having to order a whole pie. The pizza in my opinion is the best I've had and I've tried many many different pizzerias in the Hudson Valley area along with NYC. When I did eat meat, my go to dish was the Chicken Marsala or the Chicken Parmigiana. Those two dishes are really good! If you haven't tried Chicken Marsala I highly recommend getting it from Primos in particular. Also, the chicken pizza is a great choice if you want something filling but are in the mood for pizza. My family and I have been coming here for years now so we know Leo the owner and he is such a great guy. He has a great personality and has become like family to us! Hope this review helps! I absolutely love their chicken Parmesan dinner with spaghetti. It is ooey gooey cheesy heaven. The sauce is the best sauce I have ever had in my 42 years of life. They serve large portions and I can't say enough about this place. When I used to stay at work late, I would have them deliver to me. I also used to frequent them for lunch. I started to go to Primos about two months ago. I have been going there about three times a week and always get two plain slices and a coke. I think they easily have the best pizza in Orange County. Unfortunately I won't be going there any more. I went for lunch on Friday, July 24, 2015 and had my usual. As I was finishing my lunch I noticed the chef/owner counting money and saw him lick his fingers. At that moment a customer entered and ordered two slices, the chef then handled the two slices and put them on a tray and handed them to the customer (without gloves) and without ever washing his hands. I have ordered from this pizzeria for years and I've never been disappointed. However, due to the overwhelming concern of COVID-19 we are all trying to take as many precautions as necessary. I originally wanted to place my order for curbside pick up but was told the restaurant was trying to limit the amount of customers coming inside - totally fine. Instead, I placed my order for delivery and had the restaurant write "no contact" on my receipt. When the pizza arrived, the delivery person knocked on my door and my mom went to the window to ask him to leave it on the porch. I'm assuming he didn't hear her because he kept knocking. My mom opened the door and thanked him anyway. Firstly, I'm very upset because what was the point of getting no contact delivery if he didn't leave it on our porch? Secondly, what if my mom was older and more at risk or if one of us had an underlying illness? I understand social distancing is a big adjustment for everyone, and I greatly appreciate those few restaurants who are open trying to make this all a little easier, but I would hope that if you're choosing to remain open you and your staff would take stronger precaution to keep yourselves and your customers safe. read more
