The chicken pad Thai was great, as other reviews stated. I've never had scallion pancakes before but they sounded interesting, so I got an order of those. Not sure what I was expecting, but they were heavy and greasy. I also ordered a Thai salad which was a waste. It seemed like the vegetables that should be used as garnish were just arranged in a container. They were bland but it came with peanut sauce. My friend said the coconut soup was good. Used to be AMAZING. Last couple visits were really disappointing in terms of quality and portions. Delivery is also a nightmare. Chicken dish was filled to the brim with grease and barely even had any chicken in it. On top of that they tried to tack on additional "delivery fees" on top of all the fees already paid up front. Really enjoyed this place! Went with a friend to eat in. The service was excellent -- and the food was even better! We weren't super hungry so we shared a Thai salad to start. Really enjoyed the dressing -- a little heavy on the red onions, but you can always pick around something you don't like as much! My friend got the chicken pad see ew and I got the chicken panang curry and we shared them. Both were outstanding; I often order panning curry and really think this is the best I've ever had; it was different from others. And the pad see ew was light but extremely flavorful. For a little hole in the wall restaurant, the food was delicious and tasty. We weee in the area for a wedding and my sister found this place. We ordered half the appetizer menu and we all had different dishes. The sweet and sour snapper was yummy. I tried their drunken noodles, hot and a beer. The beer was great, it had a sweet taste to it almost like honey. The drunken noodles was awesome and was just what I was hoping for. I often use that as a benchmark dish and it was great. For the heat, I could have gone hotter than theyade or, but it was still hot enough to help draw out the flavor. First up is service and hospitality which is as important as good food imo.The young lady who waited on us embodied and exemplified the very best within those two qualities. She was friendly, knowledgeable and quick to respond to our requests. Our appetizer was scrumptious Thai Spring rolls with a memorable dipping sauce that caught our attention immediately. Our Vegetable Soup broth was delicate but very flavorful the soup had a nice assortment of delectable fresh vegetables. The Penang Curry in this little resto is a complex mastery of rich but subtle coconut curry flavors with a delightful signature spicy taste note, doubt you'll find better any where. In comparison to other states & countries, this experience was less than fair. First, spring rolls: Usually, it comes with large green lettuce leaves for wrapping, sliced cucumbers, slivers of carrots & daikon topped with a sweet vinegar peanut chile dip. Normally, it includes 5 chicken, pork or vegetable spring rolls. What we got was only 3 spring rolls with a simple vinegar dip that was lacking in flavors. No vegetables if any kind which was a major disappointment. Second: Green Chicken curry Normally, the sauce is creamy coconut spicy delicious curry blend either eggplant, lots of fresh thai basil, some bamboo shoots. The curry was watery, lacking of spices, barely any coconut creamy spicy flavor at all. Had no eggplant and 1 sliver of thai basil. Lots of bell pepper, zucchini, some bamboo shoots. So disappointing. The pad thai was the only dish that had some semblance to real Thai food. Was a bit on the vinegary side. Granted, I'm not an expert but I traveled the world, Thailand 3 tomes. Food is the number one reason to enjoy their true culture. I've had Excellent Thai food in many countries and states. I truly expected better in NY state, even after living in NYC for several years. I travel around the world a lot. And let me tell you, I am a Thai food lover. I don't usually do reviews, but after eating here for the second time I have to. This is the BEST authentic Thai food restaurant I have ever ate at. Don't let this tiny place fool you. It is a HIDDEN GEM. The food was made to order. We did the spring rolls as an appetizer. And they were the freshest most crispy rolls I've ever had. The sauce that came with it was light but complimented the rolls so well. For my entree I got the Thai basil and added chicken. The sauce was salty and packed the most insane flavor. The vegetables in it were cooked to utter perfection. Steamed but still had that nice little crunch to them. My boyfriend got the chicken fried rice and said it was the best he's ever had. The food was made to order, came out quick, everything was insanely HOT AND FRESH. The service was great. 10/10 experience. And whoever is behind the kitchen, is a true chef. read more

This has always been my favorite Thai restaurant in the area and after my last visit, I'm wondering if it has new ownership. The staff seemed confused and the food was no nowhere near up to its high standards. In particular there was very little chicken included in our main chicken course. A small hidden nestled in plaza for sure, but worth a trip. Despite being short staffed, our server at our table was quick to take our order, finished plates and refilled our water when low without being asked. Also very friendly and polite, since they struck up a conversation with my party afterwards. Decor here is very pretty and I enjoy they try to add personality to the small space. So chicken satay was best I had, I mean it was a small serving but they cooked it just right so the meat was still tender and juicy. Had others satay and it always been meaty but dried out, and had to relay on the sauce more. Here it's good with or without and the peanut sauce, I did enjoy, but wish it bit more thinner, since had really dig deep to keep the sauce on the chicken. A note too, is the fact you get a small plate, with Sambal sauce, hot chili oil and Thai chili dried flakes, so this place got you covered if you want to add fiery heat. For the Basil (Pad Gra Pow) , the spicy Thai brown sauce was savory and had a flavorful depth, plus added bit Sambal with Thai flakes and wow. Wish they give more meat with dish, since the veggies were great, but could use more meat per bite with the veggies. White rice was great, nothing special. For starters we ordered the Dumplings, tasty little morsels of marinated chicken, carrots, water chestnuts in a wonton skin, served with ginger/soya sauce. For the entrées we shared two dishes. Massaman Curry, choice of meat; beef, chicken or pork, in a rich mild curry, vegetables and coconut milk, served with Jasmine rice. Pad Gra POW, my favorite of the two; Stir-fried chicken, garlic, onion, green bean, peppers basil in a delicious spicy dark brown sauce. All dishes are served with Jasmine rice. Golden Thai is a Fishkill gem. I've gotten takeout and dined in here during the pandemic. The ambience is great, service is attentive, tables are socially distanced and food is good! Highly recommend the Pad Kee Mao and Red Curry! Their takeout portion for curries could definitely use a bit more curry, but the flavors are spot on! Moderate spice level is just right. There is a superb Thai entree in Catskill, and Thai Spice in Poughkeepsie isn't bad, but this is the best Thai restaurant in the Hudson Valley. Their Massaman curry is GREAT, their coconut rice pudding is AMBROSIA, and their plum wine was good enough to request a bottle for Xmas! From the outside, this place doesn't look like much but it is worth walking through the door. The small dining room is clean and comfortable and the service is excellent. There are lunch specials during the week that include curries, noodle dishes, and rice dishes. I have had the Pad Thai here and for takeout several times and it is very good. The spring rolls and summer rolls are also very good. Recently had Pad se Ew and it was even better than I expected. As per my initial review, I first visited this restaurant several years ago. The food was so good that I would return and buy several dishes whenever I was in the area. However, during my last visit (a few days ago) the food was bland and tasteless! Quite disappointing. The pad thai was nothing like my previous visits- it was completely flavorless. The spring rolls were also overcooked and super greasy. Plus, while waiting for my takeout order, I observed the staff mixing instant coffee for the guests dining in. How much trouble could it be to brew fresh coffee?! The dining room staff was different from my previous visits and I'm wondering if they've changed cooks and or ownership. For years Working and living in the city I've enjoyed thai food from restaurants such as Sea, song, Up thai and my all time favorite OBAO! The ambiance is what I love the most. It gives me such a comfy relaxed feel. I have to admit - I'm a little surprised by this gem, and very happy I found it in an area that seems to be devoid of thai restaurants. Ultimately its a nice mom-and-pop restaurant tucked in the corner of main street. They only seat like 20 people, but has a relatively quick and reasonably priced menu. I decided to get my favorite starting with the spring rolls for the appetizer then the pad-thai noodles for my entree also the po-tak soup was delicious to say the least. Everything was flavorful, soft, and filling. The chai tea (iced) is a must! It's a great spot for your standard thai food. My partner and I came here unplanned before hitting the movies. The restaurant is small but the tables are not too close. It is clean and staff is very friendly and go above and beyond to serve. We started with the chicken satay and Golden Buddha Crisp Shrimp (Thai style tempura served with sweet chili sauce). The chicken satay (curry chicken on skewers) was cooked to perfection! Very juicy served with two sauces, one of them being a housemade peanut sauce that was divine. The SHRIMP oh man I could have had three orders of just thank! Crunchy shrimps cooked just right. For my partners main course he had chicken in a brown sauce with many veggies and a side of white rice. We asked for come hot sauces and were brought a beautiful tray of hot chili oil, and some others. He enjoyed his dinner. I got a special of whole fried red snapper. It tasted fishy. & was not like how I am used to. Next time I will get chicken or beef. We really look forward to going again and trying other things on the menu. Out of the blue this place knocked me on my butt. Stopped in close to closing time and was welcomed very warmly and was given plenty of time to figure out our appetizers and entrees. We had a pretty decent idea of what we wanted from the jump but the appetizer menu really really took us back I'll have to say these are some of the more authentic Thai offerings I've really had. I can't place what region from Thailand they were. Definitely not northern Thailand but they were very well put together and very flavorful. Lots of pictures added with this review obviously. You do get to pick the level of heat going into your dish I did a level 3 on my pad Thai which had us low heat that kicked in after but wasn't overwhelming. I would have to say the seafood medley bad tide was probably some of the best I've had in a long time. Not oversauce and the noodles are just right. The Thai iced tea was a nice accompaniment to the meal as well. The couple who run the restaurant came by to check us out quite a few times and made sure everything was going well. We ordered Pad Thai noodle's and basil fried rice, spice level 3.5 on 1-5 ( 5 being spicy) Good portion size but very average taste when it comes to basil fried rice - it is white rice tossed with vegetables absolutely no flavor at all. What happened to my favorite favorite Thai place? The review I gave five months ago was exceptional and 5 star. this has been my favorite thai restaurant for years. Maybe this was an off night, but it went from amazing to horrible to say the least. I'm a lover of green curry with shrimp and this one was extremely watered down and the shrimp were hard and fishy. (pretty dish though) The chicken satay did not have that yummy flavor (bland) , and the pork pad thai was dried out. We always love to have plum wine and they do not have their liquor license at the moment. On this visit, I give the food a 2, the ambience a 4, and the service a 5. It is worth mentioning that I haven't seen the husband and wife couple that used to run it so maybe their absence has contributed to their downfall (maybe a chef change also) anyone else experienced this change? read more

Decided to have an early dinner at Golden Buddha Thai because of the positive yelp reviews. Easy to find but the parking was a bit cramped in front. Plenty of parking around, though. Upon entering, was greeted very warmly and seated immediately. The restaurant seems small, but they've sectioned off the side tables with curtains which gives a romantic vibe. Menus were very nicely presented and they took our beverage order immediately. Gave us enough time to decide on our choices and sad to say we weren't hungry enough for appetizers. Our dinners came out 5 minutes later, or so it seemed! I got the chicken pad se ew and my husband had the pork fried rice. Both were delicious. Can't say enough about the awesome service. They knew when we finished our sodas and immediately refilled them. Also, took our plates away quickly and waited until the last person finished before trying to tempt us for dessert. Sorry to say, no room for that but next time. Very polite and sweet. Oh, one word of caution about the spiciness. They do tend to be spicier than usual. Hubby would normally be a 5 on a scale of 1 to 5. He got a 2 (wasn't in the mood for really spicy), and he said it was really spicy!
