I'll begin with how the restaurant made me feel. I just came out and as a pregnant women, they had many options that I could handle. I ordered a soup "Tom Kha Soup" which was sublime. My fiancé ordered many different things and each item was spot on amazing. Presentation was beautiful as well. Ambiance was very warm and welcoming. Our waitress for the day was Asmar. She was kind and attentive. She made great recommendations and helped us understand certain dishes. I can't wait to come back with the family and friends! This place is superb. Good food, not cheap,. Thats ok, except they need to rethink how they deal with their customers. Tonight was a downpour. With a mostly empty dining room, a few of us picking up, were made to wait in the rain. No shelter, just got soaked - while the staff scurried from the kitchen to a "takeout window". Most of us getting takeout are regulars. As we foolishly stood there soaked to the skin, we all thought the same thing: why am I here? Had my order not been prepaid (as all their takeout is) i would have left. Likewise, the other folks picking up. After being treated like this for takeout, I wont come back (even dine in) soon. I very rarely give 1 star reviews, and I even feel slightly guilty doing this in a middle of the pandemic when I know a lot of small business are struggling. However, the quality of food at Bangkok Spice was extremely poor and even gave one of my family members an upset stomach ache that led to diarrhea (sorry for the explicitness). We ordered 3 different noodle dishes and they were all bad. The pad Thai had zero flavor or color. The quality of beef was equivalent to rubber -- you could barely cut through it and it was a very dark greyish color. For the price we paid the quality just wasn't there. Barely anyone touched their food, which was disappointing because I truly hate wasting food. I've read in some previous reviews that they're recent got new owners, which perhaps is why the food has changed so much. read more

Extremely obvious that the chef or chefs do not care. Obvious that there is no chef. We ordered steamed vegetables and tofu twice. The tofu looks like a wolf chewed on it and the vegetables were undercooked broccoli, no water chestnuts or peapods horse carrots cut into a silly shape, and a accoutrements that we don't want like some kind of black sauce. The woman who takes the orders doesn't really speak English and she's kind of shrinks and screams even when it's not busy. We ordered lunch at 2:30 well within the timeframe between lunch and dinner and so the cooks could eat in peace. She told us her standard answer the food will get there 45 minutes an hour the delivery guy was very sweet but he brought the bag in upside down and leaking. He doesn't speak English either but you don't have to speak English act rationally. We tried to explain to him(this was not a delivery app he works for the place) and it's always best to get the tip in cash and not on the credit card because the owners and the management usually steals the tips. It's very hard for us not to overt we tipped him approximately 70% and he still brings our food upside down. I would be in shock too if I just came from China. Twice in 10 days we've had the strange experiences. The woman who takes the order did not forget to put the hot mustard they usually serve at the table into the bag upside down though it may have been. I think people have gone since the pandemic. . There is only one person to blame and is not Dr. Fauci. All very strange stuff here folks. I hope they improve. read more

Decent, although not amazing. I have only gotten takeout, so I can't account for atmosphere, but they're quick and reliable. The spice levels are higher than most places in the area, which I like (but a warning for those who don't!). Their pad Thai and pad kee mao are both good but not great. The menu: My tea was served with a tea bag rather than lose in a teapot which was a little bit disappointing. The miso soup was very cloudy but my friend enjoy the taste. I had the coconut chicken soup. The coconut milk was not blended property it was slightly curled and the flavor was pretty bland. They did use high-quality pieces of chicken breast and a few mushrooms. Otherwise nothing out of the ordinary. The noodles had a good flavor but were a bit's stuck together and the shrimp was overcooked. My red curry with chicken had a nice balanced spicy flavor. Otherwise, Nothing spectacular. Overall, I would rate this a good spot to get a quick lunch in a casual clean environment. The one must have is the warm sticky rice with fresh mango. That one gets five stars read more

Unfortunately, this restaurant is out of sight and therefore out of mind for me. However, recently we were talking about grabbing something to eat and happened to be passing by and voila, a great meal! The food is fresh and tasty with plenty of choices for those who like it spicy or those who prefer something milder. I love curry dishes and BS has several to choose from. Service was quick and efficient, probably owing to the fact that they seemed to be doing more takeout business than eat in on the night we were there. This is our regular Thai place...ok, our overall regular Asian restaurant. My teenager likes it so much that he will always vote for Thai food. Our go to orders are pad Thai, chicken satay and the masman curry. All delicious and we fought over the pad Thai so much that now everyone gets their own. The summer rolls and spring rolls are good starters and the coconut pudding is a yummy dessert. In warm weather they have a few well spaced tables under an open sided tent. Ordering is easy since they have online ordering and they will update you on when your food is ready for pickup. It looks like the building once housed an ice cream stand and the old order window makes Covid outside pick up super easy. read more

Bangkok Spice, you are yum. The clear soup was my favorite part of the entire meal. I would highly recommend it. The chicken skewers were not as good as I thought they would be. The entrées were pretty good. I tried 3, but my favorite was the thick noodles with chicken- YUM! (don't remember the name) The pad thai was also decent. One of the entrées was supposed to be spicy, but by no means would I say it it was spicy. Luckily, if you really want some fire, just ask for some hot sauce and they will give you a little bowl. :) For dessert, I would definitely recommend the mango sticky rice and the pineapple encased in rambutan. You will not want to share. The place was empty when I went, so that may explain why the service was so good. Regardless, the lady who served us was very nice and attentive. The food has gone lower in quality over the 10 years we've lived in the area. Went for lunch today, and thankfully the appetizers were still on point. Our main dishes were meh, especially the pad see ew, which is one of my favorite go to dishes at Thai restaurants. The noodles were dry, sticky and mostly burnt, like they scraped the bottom of the pot of reheated pad see ew. Definitely wasn't freshly made. Lunch specials include a side salad, a main dish and rice, all $8 The Thai Basil chicken came in a basil chili sauce with green beans and peppers. The flavors were aromatic, fresh and zingy and the chicken was tender moist breast meat. There are 12 combos available with either chicken, vegetables or tofu with a $1 up charge for beef or shrimp. I read many great reviews about this restaurant and had high expectations. Unfortunately my first impression was not a good one. The interior is nothing fancy and gives off a cozy home feeling. My co-workers and I were seated in the round corner. It had a pleasant view of the entire restaurant. There were many windows surrounding us so our table was always filled with warmth from the sunshine. If I could, I would come here again to experience this atmosphere. The waiter was very polite and patient. He greeted us with a bright smile and offered us suggestions in case we didn't know what we wanted. However, here was the point where it all went down. Often times when he went back behind bar or come out of the kitchen, his expression looked disoriented and confused. The restaurant was only half full but it took the waiter so long to give us our menus, and to take our drinks downs. Also, he came back with the wrong drinks in hand. We didn't give an attitude because he was extremely apologetic and very polite so we didn't rush him and told him to take his time. He literally took his time with our order. Most of the time we were just sitting there waiting. Luckily we did a team building exercise so the wait didn't seem to be that long. In terms of the quality of food, I expected it to be good but it turned out worse than I thought. The only dish I liked was the soup and the soup was free. I ordered the Pad Thai and my co-workers all ordered the Pad Kee Mow. My dish was super spicy and super sweet. On the menu, there was the chilly pepper icon next to the dish to warm customers that the dish is spicy. However the Pad Tai didn't have the icon there. I only ate half of it and gave up the rest. The Pad Kee Mow was overcooked. When the dish came, I already saw that it looked slimy, and my co-workers verified it too. All of them ate a couple of bites and one of them didn't even touch the dish. We felt bad because all our food looked untouched, so we asked to waiter to wrap everything to go. We brought it home and tossed it in the garbage can. I genuinely feel really bad for writing a bad review for Bangkok Spice because the staff were super friendly. We were in the area and starving! Not many places around here to pick from. The curb appeal is not very inviting, and the ambiance inside did not make up for it by any means. It was very outdated, but clean. Think: slightly more upscale than Chinese takeout.The food did make up for the decor. Vegetables were fresh and you can't beat a 7.95 lunch special that comes with soup or salad. $1 extra if you want shrimp. You will get approximately 4 shrimp..so pay the extra dollar if you want to double on the portion. The service was perfect. Not intrusive but very attentive. Food came out quick too!
