The food here is fantastic! All the right flavors for the right dishes sweet, spicy, crispy, fresh. Iced coffee and iced tea are perfect! Fast, friendly, service. This is mostly a take out / delivery resturant with limited seating. But we ate in on a cold and rainy day and it was cozy and just right.

The food was absolutely delicious, we went for my wife's birthday in September. The service was professional and courteous. It's a tiny little restaurant, but the food is top tier. We got some fresh spring rolls for an appetizer and she got the Singapore Noodles and I got the drunken noodles very spicy. Dessert was a delicious fried ice cream. We will be back. Thank you for having us!

Full disclosure: Uber Eats delivery. Thai restaurant with a broad selection. I got the roti curry with chicken, massaman curry (you could choose between this, green, and yellow). The roti was cooked perfectly. The curry was pretty mild in my opinion, but massaman curry is known to be mild. I also had the spring rolls--vegetarian, hot, crispy. I had the passion fruit tea and it was refreshing! My coworkers had the drunken noodles (he said spicy, tasty) and the pad Thai (also good remarks). This restaurant offers tofu, soups, salad, multiple types of noodles of varying spice levels, rice bowls, fried rice, stir fry, curries, duck, salmon, and more. Prices as expected. Rates around 4.9 on DoorDash and UberEats. Would order again!

This is probably the edgiest place I've tried up here, and while that's not really saying much, it was pretty impressive and exceeded expectations. I convinced a co-worker (didn't take a lot of effort; she was hungry) to give this place a shot for a lunch pick-up order this past Thursday. Full disclosure - Thai is not one of my go-to ethnic food genres. It's a LITTLE too spicy for me generally speaking, has a lot of crunchy shizzle in its dishes that I could do without, and spice mixed with basically peanut butter (cough cough Pad Thai cough cough) is just not something I've been able to embrace. But it's by no means a hated food - I just have to be in the mood for it, which is pretty rare. I took on the assignment of picking up the food. It's a pretty generic storefront; having never been on this road before, I actually missed it the first time because it's a building or two off of Route 33 and I didn't have a good visual even though I was actively looking for it - FYI for any other intrepid explorers out there. The interior is very reminiscent of a Chinese takeout place, with a giant menu dominating the area above the counter, with one or two pro forma booths to sit in if the spirit moves you. Probably just me, but I was really into the font they used for the menu - it gave off a Tempura Sans vibe from my childhood. And for what it's worth, everyone there was very friendly. I belatedly got a notification as I was pulling into the parking lot that the food wasn't slated to be ready for another 10 minutes, but I waited maybe three minutes once I got in. Not bad at all. We got the Crispy Tofu app (I think $9ish) to split, and I just decided to go for it and ordered the Gra-Prow Fried Egg entrée ($15 or $16), not having a clue what I was really getting into beyond the egg. The Tofu is something I wouldn't get again; definite miss. The sauce it came with was pretty interesting; it reminded me of the sweet/sour sauce that typically accompanies a Firecracker Shrimp entrée at a restaurant that's trying to earn a little ethnic street cred, but it also had crushed up peanuts on top so there was a salty nut vibe to it as well. The texture was MUCH more gelatinous than I expected. I would have liked it a lot better without the peanuts, but that is apparently how the Thais roll. The Tofu itself was super, super bland - definitely needed the sauce or something similar for the palate, but I'm mystified that anyone would voluntarily eat it plain; it's like literally chewing air. I was a big fan of the Gra-Prow Fried Egg. It has a lot of chunks of onions and peppers that I had no interest in consuming, but it was pretty easy to eat around those. The chicken was excellent - super flavorful and scrumptious. It WAS spicy (and I got the lowest level of that), and I had to actually go into our kitchen area to retrieve a few napkins to blow my noise. If you have a cold and are trying to clear the sinuses a bit, there are worse ways to do it. One co-worker who'd never had Thai before was curious and sampled a very small piece of chicken - she quickly went to get some water, so if you're a novice SE Asian cuisine consumer, be aware. What the Tofu lacks in taste, the chicken makes up for, and then some. I also was surprised that I didn't mind the bamboo shoots; they weren't distractingly crunchy or slippery on the palate, and were a noble accompaniment to the dish. And of course the egg was a star as well - how could it not be? This is not something I'd get on a daily or even weekly basis, but it's certainly going to be part of the rotation going forward. If you're in North Rockland and looking for a respite from mediocre pizza and delis, you could do far worse than this.

OMG. This is the Thai restaurant that I've been waiting for. I recent moved to the Rockland county area and was not able to find a good Thai restaurant for the life of me. The flavors and spice is definitely present in Thai Cafe 88's food. My husband and I ordered the drunken noodle and spicy basil fried rice. DELICIOUS!! I love that they ask your preferred spicy level and what I loved most of all was they had Mango and sticky rice as a dessert . I thoroughly enjoyed my entire meal and I can't wait to have it again. #dedicatedcustomer #illbeback

As we sat down to our reserved table our server wanted to know if we were going to a show... now that's very thoughtful. They would pace our meal accordingly. BUT we had three hours. We ordered wine and beer to start- on Happy Hour prices. We were informed of new items on the menu... I changed my mind 3 times; everything looked great. We decided to share the Jeep Koong as an appetizer. Edna is very particular about what she eats and b/c of her Latin heritage, fried fish was not out of the question. Out came a very large portion of fried red snapper in a Tamarind sauce and Brussels sprouts. She opted to omit the sliced jalepeno. I like Massaman Curry; their new offering had it made with lamb and Brussels sprouts, potatoes and sliced cashews. Oh boy. My recent bout with bleeding ulcers had me forego having it Thai spicy. Still plenty of time before the show but the restaurant was filling up fast. Dessert yes we chose to share puff pastry topped with coconut ice cream and coconut flakes. I was surprised to see Durian on the dessert menu or at least I didn't remember from the other time we visited the restaurant. I do remember the Durian we experienced during our last trip to Bangkok- a real smelly fruit which I opted to taste (sure). All in all our meal, service and the simple but tasteful decorations, were all outstanding. Of course we'll be back but might return to their lunchtime offerings. Unless we pre-theatre it again.

4.5 stars We had…read moretried several Thai restaurants in Bergen and Rockland county and had continually been disappointed. However, that changed with our discovery of SOD. First off, the staff was extremely nice, both on the phone while placing our order and during our seamless pickup. Though we took the food to-go, their dining room was certainly cozy and comfortable enough for dining in on another occasion. When we got home and unpacked the food, we saw that the portions were generous and that everything was well-packed. We started by sharing the unique, Handmade Thai Crepe Dumplings. The beautiful dark purple noodle wraps had been stuffed with peanuts and turnips, a spectacular flavor combination covering salty, nutty, and sweet profiles. I then had my Tom-Yum Soup, which had been served in a quart container that was about 2/3 full, so a bit more than a pint. The spicy, sour lemongrass broth was packed with mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, lemongrass, Kaffir lime leaves, and tender white meat chicken, which we had asked to be added. The soup had been prepared with a medium spice level that was ideal for the dish. However, the restaurant was not shy with their spices on the main courses! I went with my standard Pad Se-Ew with Chicken, for which I do not typically specify a heat level. However, the restaurant's menu mentioned that spice could be added between mild and extra hot. I asked for medium, but it was definitely more fiery than I had expected! However, the noodles were delicate and the Chinese broccoli was fresh and crisp. My mouth might have been a bit numb, but I could still tell that the dish was tasty! Everyone else loved their individual plates, though we all took note that we should be more careful with our requested spice levels going forward. In addition to our own meals, we shared an order of the Garlic Noodles with Chicken, since it was an unusual dish for a Thai restaurant. It contained sautéed, flat rice noodles with egg, bean sprouts, scallions, garlic, sesame oil, and tender chicken. A mild heat level was perfect for this, as the lack of fire allowed the robust sesame and garlic notes to make an impact. Each piece of chicken was lean, moist, and tender. SOD Thai really exceeded my expectations and was definitely a local gem that we would order from again!

Homey, family run, authentic eatery that brings in the hospitality of the Land Of Smiles. I was there for dinner recently for a family event and we ordered 7 entrees and some appetizers and had it family style. Most notable dishes were the Chive Pancake appetizers - light and fluffy, crusty on the outside with a tangy tamarind sauce to accompany. For the main entrees: the Shriracha Fried Rice was outstanding. Well balanced and tangy with just enough heat and crunch. The Pad See Noodles and Garlic Noodles were both heavenly. You could taste that the rice noodles were made fresh, each day. You won't want to miss the Tamarind Shrimp either. A most unique dish. The other remarkable dishes was the Green Curry with papaya and bamboo shoots. Simply divine. For each entree, you decide what kind of protein you'd like or go vegan. Appetizers: The curry puffs were delicious -- flaky, flavorful, but I definitely wished there were more than three. Chicken satay was well executed, but the honey ribs completely stole the spotlight. Super tender, flavorful, and easily the must-order on the starter list. Entrees: We ordered the deep fried filet snapper (with white rice) and the chicken Khao Soi. The Khao Soi was the standout of the night -- perfectly cooked noodles and a rich, coconut curry broth that was easily 10/10. The snapper was fried beautifully, and the mixed vegetables tasted incredibly fresh and bright -- almost ceviche-like in flavor.
