The dish I ordered included tofu. I can't imagine how they prepared the dish but the small squares of tofu had been cooked to the point that they were actually like rubber, and this is not an exaggeration. They were little squares that could not be chewed. I had to pick them all out. Tofu becomes like rubber if the moisture is not totally removed prior to cooking or if it is overcooked or possibly not used correctly for specific dishes. The food is expensive. I paid $40 plus tip. I'm not returning to a restaurant were a supposedly professional cook apparently does not know *how* to cook. read more

This was my first time here so my experience could be a fluke. Came during lunch. It has currently been open for about 3 weeks. Ambiance Space was cozy, small and well put together. Restaurant can probably fit around 30 people. During the better weather months, there appeared to be outdoor seating for around 18. Inside on the seating bench side there was a wood detail that goes into the top area of your back just a little bit. Service It's possible someone called in sick or they don't have their systems in order yet. In a half packed restaurant, it took them 15 minutes to take our order. Also felt like those who phoned in got priority. It's been a long time since I ate at a restaurant and considered the food perfect. My friend and I booth had the crispy duck lunch special. First came delicious little spring rolls with sauce, then salad which was fresh and crisp, the duck was indeed crisp as promised but also very flavorful. We topped lunch off with dessert and tea. Made a res here for my bff's Bach as a group of five Asian girls. Restaurant felt extremely hot by the door since it's by the kitchen but cooled down as you walked further inside. Lighting and ambiance was good. Slightly noisy cause of people talking but we were also talking and laughing. I've been waiting for a Thai restaurant to open in the neighborhood and it did not disappoint. We started with the pan fried Taro cakes. Our entree was the mock duck See ew noodles and the special ginger scallion chillian sea bass which was cooked to perfection. We finished our meal off with their version of crème brûlée which hit the spot. The only disappointing thing is that you need to bring your own alcohol until they get their license. It's a very small space so reservations is highly recommended or go early like 4:30-5pm otherwise be prepared for a long wait. read more

Food was fantastic!!! First time at this restaurant and we were not greeted in an inviting way. Before I had a chance to sit down I was asked if sparkling or tap water, when I said tap water she took the san pelegrino away before I even sat down!! The tables are too close we could not have a conversation. The tables are 6 inches away from eachother. The restaurant does not have an inviting entrance, when you first walk it its so crammed. The bathroom floor and all the knobs were sticky. We arent going back luckily enough people in Croton like them so they will have business read more

We were delighted to find out that a Thai restaurant was opening in our Village. We went on the second night that they were open expecting that there would be mishaps in food and service and there were none. The fact that they had run a successful restaurant for years showed. It was also nice to see that many of the patrons that night came up from the old location to support the owner. Another nice touch was the wait staff we knew from the prior restaurant in this spot were there. They are all very seasoned and the service was exceptional. The owner/chef came from the kitchen to greet people at their tables and that was a nice surprise. The food was beyond expectations. We had three different curry dishes - all delicious with the freshest ingredients. Red snapper was on the menu and when I ordered it was told they were out of it - a little disappointing but I recovered ;) The interior of the restaurant was pretty much the same except for new artwork. The chairs were never comfortable and are still there but for an hour or so visit, it's fine. We love D Thai Kitchen and feel very fortunate to have them in our Village. If you're curious about D Thai Kitchen, there are plenty of reasons it earns its positive reviews. Several dishes use fresh ingredients and authentic Thai flavors that you can't get anywhere else. The food is consistently good and the specials -- especially the Gyoza Lovers and Pad Kraprow -- are excellent. There's also the Thai Iced Tea with coconut milk, which is something you should order at least once. The space is modest but gets packed fast during dinner. From about 5-7 p.m. it's shoulder-to-shoulder, so a reservation is definitely necessary if you don't want to wait. To be fair -- there have been long waits and some mistakes, but they recently moved to their new Croton location and are clearly still settling in with a new staff, new systems, and a lot of customers discovering them all at once. They're still waiting on their liquor license and currently write all orders and checks by hand, so the pacing isn't great. That said, the food and the overall experience are worth it, and each week the service feels a little smoother. Ambiance is cozy and tight. Food was a mixed bag of results. The very expensive $11 Thai soup was just average. Nothing to it. Priced at least double what it should've been. Green curry dish was to me, not balanced. Over sweet and some of the seasonings seemed to go awry. The star however was the steamed fish. Very nice portion. This was surprisingly awesome. It's a small place with cozy tables, friendly service, and it feels quite authentic. The food was spot on. I asked for Tom yum super spicy and they accommodated me perfectly. I had the Prik King with pork and brown rice. It was Valentine's Day, and although I was there with a friend and not my wife, they still brought out a heart of brown rice for me. My first time having Thai food in the area and we came here because of the plenty of options for gluten free plus the good reviews and how wonderful the pictures looked. What's worse is we watched the waitstaff bicker with each other and then listened to one waitperson in particular visit other tables to bad mouth her coworkers & the owners - calling them names and describing them as "illiterate" & referring to someone with a slur related to autism. The teenager at our table was appalled, as were we. We waited forever for our food and learned it was delivered to the wrong table - who ate it! This was a really cute and cozy spot that we stumbled across while attending a festival nearby. The ambiance is really great and relaxed, and the spot is quaint. They offer outdoor seating as well, depending on the weather. Our waitress was very attentive and seated us right away. Our orders came out fairly quickly as well. The menu options are pretty good, although the prices are a bit steeper than I would have expected. We ordered a Chicken Pineapple Red Curry and a Pork Pad Thai. The red curry was fairly thick and flavorful. It had the perfect spice level, which paired well with the sweet pineapples. Although I enjoyed it, I don't think the portion size was worth the price ($24.95). The pad thai was pretty good and had great flavor. The color wasn't what I normally see with pad thai but it didn't take away from the taste. That being said, I do wish there was a bit more meat given the price of the dish ($18.95). The worst was the lack of hospitality and graciousness when I picked up my order. I was barked a meager welcome by an employee who had set herself up at a dining table in the middle of the dining room to take phone orders.. again not a gracious place to land if you want your customers to enjoy the experience. The front entry needs cleaning up. It looks like a mishmash of somebody forgot to organize their house. I was left standing in the tiny entry waiting for my order. Graciousness would include offering a place to sit and maybe a glass of water. Telephone lady needs to wear something besides shorts and a T-shirt. I don't care how hot it is. This is a professional business and you need to look professional. lack of cleanliness or organization in the entry and employees that look like they don't care how they rolled into work don't give great confidence to the cleanliness of the kitchen. I didn't check the bathroom, which is always the way to know if the kitchen is clean. The prices are a bit steep relative to the quantity of food you are given as well, so it might not be the first place to come to mind when I want to eat out. Awful experience! We waited 40, (yes 40 minutes) for our food. I ordered the Tom Kha soup which after about a 30 minute wait, arrived cold. Great way to have soup! Not! I had a horrible experience ordering takeout. Called at 4:16PM to place the order. I was told the food would be ready in one hour. Got a call back 5 mins later to tell me that they ran out of one of the items I ordered. Then, called again to ask me what protein I ordered with the Thai fried rice. Arrived at 5:13PM to pick up the food. Paid for the food as soon as I walked in. Didn't get the food until 5:50PM. At which time, they questioned whether or not I paid for the food. They could not find the receipt. I had to show them the charge against my bank account on my phone before they would relent. Got the food home and the spring rolls and the calamari were cold as well as one of the soups. Obviously, those items sat while they finished the rest of the order. I think it's time to update my review of D Thai which was written over 11 years ago. Happy to say- this remains my favorite Thai place in all of Westchester and beyond. I have eaten here before I was vegan, but now that I am vegan I can still enjoy an authentic Thai meal in a setting that feels like home. Just remember everything is made fresh to order so be patient when you come. They also only carry wine and beer so no cocktails here- but with food like this you won't miss it. I always get the drunken man noodles with no egg and vegetarian duck and the massaman curry with vegetarian duck as well. I thought it was bad when it took 45 minutes for 2/3 of our main dishes to come out. It got worse when mine didn't arrive. It got even worse when it became clear that our waitress had no idea I had no food in front me (in a room with 25 people). It continued downhill when we were told that two dishes were given to another table and ours were not even being made until I asked. I thought we hit bottom when I was then offered the opportunity to cancel my order b/c they were still making it (this is 90 minutes after we sat.) However the rock bottom was, when 2 hours into this epic saga, we were first offered dessert, and then presented a bill with nothing comped. They clearly cannot keep up with the dining room and takout and have a waitstaff quick to blame everyone else, instead of actually taking care of their tables and paying attention to the orders.
