We've been doing takeout from Oriental Express for many years! The food is good, the portions are sizable and the prices are affordable!

It was an incredibly thoughtless gift. Their food is fairly disgusting, and this has nothing to do with me being Vegan naturally, they only put out the cheapest stuff possible and once in a while, they'll put out the more expensive stuff. I remember being very grossed out by the condition of the sneeze guard and the floor and that was such a long time ago. I can't even believe I remember it! Maybe things have changed, but somehow I doubt it. Who the hell wants to pay $11 or whatever it was for an all you can eat menu of absolute son of a lumberjack food. We heard that on a commercial and could not stop laughing. Everyone else seemed fine with it, but we're picky as hell. When we find a leafy green salad with rotten leaves in it, we don't want to eat it just a little tiny things like that we're not kidding, no, we are kidding. Sorry to give the place a bad review because we want every local business to succeed. We're not even through there anymore.. What the hell takes a Vegan to such a place? If you wanted to save money, then don't take me out to lunch in the first place. Cost much friction because I ended up telling my good friend or so. I thought the truth and she got so mad. Nobody likes the truth and I don't either and I should've kept my big mouth shut, but I couldn't. I also didn't think it was a good idea for her to eat there because it was afraid she was gonna get food poisoning.

The Internet is completely wrong: they do not serve any kind of beer. They have their own delivery people, and it usually comes promptly if you order early enough. So no need to use one of those companies that rip off the restaurant and the customer. Q Ming does understand English, and she does the best she can so please give her a break. Even if she sounds like she's screeching on the phone it's because of her high-pressure job she's the only person once again who ever answers the phone. She tries her best we think, and that's all anyone can ask for. I specifically asked for more peapods this time and she said she would try to get them to do it. Goodness knows what's going on in the kitchen. The cooking is sometimes very erratic, but beggars can't be choosers. This is Americanized Chinese food, so don't expect anything different. I'm sure they all work extremely hard. I asked the delivery person if he was trafficked. He doesn't understand English. We do not speak any dialogue of the Chinese language. He had to use the translator on the phone. He said absolutely not, That he was not trafficked. Yeah if he was trafficked would he tell me? The problem with trafficking is these poor people pay the smuggler a ton of money and then they all have to sleep in the same room with crummy mattresses on the floor. Then they are forced to work for hours on end at least six days a week because this place is closed on Monday. I'm not saying that this place does that but I'm extremely concerned. We have run into this situation before, and I find it reprehensible but I don't think that's what's going on in this place. We have to live with ourselves after all. It's a modern day form of slavery. It's a very big problem, but nobody seems to want to address it because nobody cares about these people. I don't understand that and neither does my husband. We certainly do care. At least we hope not! Nobody deserves that kind of treatment. For two people it's either $25.88 or 30 bucks, depending on we're not sure. We'd love to know who the owner is, and if they speak English cause we would like to speak to them. With a few simple fixes this place could improve immensely. Apparently they're very busy as it is. Then again most Americans have never really had great Chinese food. We had some in San Francisco, and it was unforgettable, and decades ago. That's how good it was. You're not gonna get that here this is Americanized Chinese food. The delivery person is very sweet young man. We haven't had a disastrous delivery since the last one we spoke about with the bag upside down. Everything seems to be going normally with them. They have their own delivery people, and yes they do deliver in a timely manner . They're all under so much pressure I could feel their anxiety over the phone. Oh dear the restaurant business is not for the faint hearted. We just got our food semi disaster. The black bean sauce is incredibly salty and we are low on salt. We love salt. The reason for this is because they made a huge vat of it at the beginning of the week and thought to themselves oh we're too busy to stir it. Really? We both know the pressure of being on a line in Michelin star restaurants and you can't even stir the damn sauce? We also didn't get the mustard from the table because the mustard they send in those little plastic containers is gross . Inexplicably, the charge was $24, and the delivery guy said he was too busy for me to sign the credit card statement but I told him no, I have have to sign it otherwise it' may get rejected from the bank . I don't care how busy you are if you don't do something correctly, then the customer is unhappy and you may not get their business anymore. We had a saying in the kitchen back in the day or at least I did. " there's never time to do it right but there's always time to do it over" So we're starving, and all we have is this in edible black bean sauce. Feel personally insulted.

Seated right away, seats were unexpectedly hard. Staff were friendly, and ordered drinks and appetizers within the first few minutes. We ordered the edamame, and gyoza. Gyoza were good, pork and good sauce to go with. Edamame... keep reading. For drinks we had some Tsing Tao, light Chinese beer and the Plum Wine. Plum wine was sweet and smooth, just enough to make you forget its alcohol. My edamame did not come out at all before the other appetizers, drinks and the mains already arrived, so I had to cancel it so that they would not charge me. For the mains we had the Aburi Salmon Roll, mix of spicy roll combo, some California rolls, Shrimp Tempura Roll, Sashimi Deluxe, Grilled Shrimp Salad, and the Thai Yellow Coconut Curry. Rolls were all made well, tasty, I would order from here for my lunch time rolls. The Shrimp Tempura had a nice crunchy so you know it was just recently made and was not sitting. the sear on the Aburi Salmon was just right with a touch of a light mayo spicy sauce. Thai Coconut curry was "not too great" by my friends standards but still enjoyable. Sashimi deluxe, items were fresh, slightly chilled and came in a giant bowl in a bed of ice. It was the right temperature and would not have wanted my sashimi any other way. Too much food to have dessert, but will try to cut done on entrees to try dessert next time. Would recommend and was my first time there, would have like some edamame with my beer but will definitely stop by again.
