Thai Den is a reimagining of I-Thai, which has been in the neighborhood for as long as I can remember. While I don't eat Thai food regularly, I have nothing against it so it's purely circumstances that lead to it not being in my regular food rotation. Anyway, I was looking for an early dinner and since I had not been here since the changeover, I decided to check it out. I'll be honest, I don't see much difference between what I-Thai was and what Thai Den is; the menu is similar if not exact, and the interior looks the same. The biggest (only?) change is the name and exterior signage. I was browsing the menu and it contains a number of Thai staples, some specialty dishes, as well as some non-Thai selections. I decided to start with their wonton soup, steamed chicken dumplings; both were pretty good - I wouldn't say anything out of the ordinary but tasty. For my main I went basic and tried the pad Thai - I had the option to add a protein so I chose chicken. The dish was pretty good - there was adequate representation of each ingredient and they were generous with the chicken (albeit it was a tad dry). Service was fast, and overall I feel that Thai Den puts out a solid offering. Nothing to write home about but you also won't be disappointed. It's one of the few (if the only) Thai spots in downtown White Plains, and for that I'm glad they're here and will make it my intention to return. read more

We started coming to the Thai restaurants in this location for almost 27 years. Some of the staff is the same since Reka's. It's nice to see the continuity. Thai Den, the name of the current Thai iteration, is a wonderful low-key and casual restaurant. We had papaya salad, drunken noodles, Panang curry and a pad Thai. Everything was delightful. The flavors were superb and service on a Sat night was attentive. For three of us with two cocktails, the bill was $83 before gratuity and the annoying 3% up charge for using a credit card. But at sub $100 for three adults, there's nothing here to complain about. We're fans of Thai Den. We'll be back. read more

Art came over and asked a few questions and made some suggestions. We opted for springs which were hot, crispy and not greasy at all. Wonderful! Unfortunately, the order arrived without any rice. When we called the restaurant, the manager apologized sincerely and said he would deliver the rice right away. Ever since it changed to Thai Den, I find the food to be much more flavorful, more spicy, and more varieties. We always get thai fried rice drunken noodles red curry and curry puffs. Curry puffs have gotten smaller and smaller so it's definitely not worth getting anymore for the amount you get. But something new we've been getting is the Devil Noodle which is wicked good. What a great little restaurant! I was attending a show nearby and was looking for a place to eat prior, and stumbled upon this restaurant. The sign said Grand Opening. The tables are spread out nicely and the place filled up while we were there. I would suggest turning the lights down just a smidge for the dinner hour. I believe there were two other couples. We were seated immediately. It took us a while to peruse the menu. There was an issue with our drink order. The waitress had trouble understanding our order for Johnny Walker Black - in any case it was resolved. We ordered for appetizer Crispy Duck Salad & Green Mango Shrimp Salad. The salads were generous, more than enough for the four of us. Lots of shrimp & duck. The duck salad had slices of duck breast with skin, that was deep fried I guess, a bit on the dry side but crispy never the less. For entree we ordered: Chicken Curry, Whole Crispy Red Snapper & Seafood Sauté in Thai basil sauce. Again the portions were generous. We expected the snapper to be whole in one piece but it was not. It was carve into bite size pieces with the carcass made into a container for the deep fried pieces of flesh - this was delicious. The meat was very crispy & moist. The seafood sauté was also very good. It contained shrimp, calamari, mussel. The least favorite was the Chicken Curry - too dry. It's very reasonably priced. The chicken drunken noodles was overall very dry. The noodles and the chicken seemed overdone. The crispy duck was okay. I have been here several times since moving to White Plains a year ago. They used to deliver but now depend on Uber eats or other such companies to deliver which is a bummer because they typically overcharge for delivery. The venue is very easy to miss as it appears as though it is part of an apartment complex. It is in the basement but there are some windows to prevent it from feeling like you are in a basement (see pics). There is a sign outside but it is also easy to miss. In any event, they are the best Thai place in White Plains (if not the only Thai place lol). There are great lunch specials everyday of the week that include an entree, soup/salad and a beverage at a very reasonable price. Also have happy hour. My fav Thai dish is panang curry (I add pineapple to bring out the sweetness) which they do very well. I also recommend the crab rangoon, cashew chicken pad thai and tom yum soup.
