They have a great lunch time special that comes with a small app and entree as well. The Pad See Ew and Drunken Noodles are my favorite but you can't go wrong with any of their dishes. So happy to have found Durian! The space is lovely. The outside looks like a charming cottage. Lots of windows, the seating area is very nice. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. They bring some rice cakes with a very interesting jam. On the sweet side, goes very nice with whatever you order to drink. I'm a fan of their Lychee Martini, and the Lychee Tea. The Bangkok Duck with Crispy Kale is outstanding! The Khao Soi is full of plump shrimp and chicken, excellent flavor. We park behind the restaurant, in the train station parking lot. It's free after 6pm, and Sundays. Maybe Saturday as well, check the signs. And go! A lovely dining experience! read more

Nice little restaurant right next to the metro north. Came here for lunch on a weekend. It has about 6-8 tables inside and some outdoor space (too cold for outdoors). Staff is friendly and attentive, we tried a few things on the menu: Kari Puff - potato and chicken samosa, nice flavor, i liked it better with sauce from dumplings. Kui Chai - fried chive dumplings, again the sauce on these were great. Pork Belly Bao - was a miss. The bun was way too hard, had two slices of cucumber in it that were way too thick for such a small item, wouldn't order again. Pad See Ew - shared this as main dish. ordered with chicken, good flavor, a little too much salt for my liking. I am shocked by the amount of positive reviews about this restaurant! Have y'all never had Thai food before? This is "edible" at best... We tried out Durian simply because we wanted something Thai. The Yelp & google reviews are all pretty decent so we decided to stop by. Our biggest mistake was not checking the prices before coming. We're talking about a lunch portion chicken fried rice for a whooping $20!? My husband wanted a Shrimp Pad Thai but changed his mind when he saw the $26 price tag. Is this place for real?! Am I missing something here? Does the chef have a Michelin star or what? Also, the decor of this place had close to ZERO Thailand influence. We left hungry and dissatisfied. We took dinner to go. Although we were messaged that our food was ready we had to wait a bit for our order. They had at least 7 orders bagged up when we arrived. The guy was nice and sorry for the delay. No one was eating in the restaurant. Not sure if they're serving diners in the restaurant or only doing take out. The food is very good here. My one star rating still stands, and trust me when I say that I don't like giving one star reviews. Even though I said that I would never order from this place again, I found myself at a friends house recently and we decided to order Thai food. This place was the only place in the immediate area that would deliver (we didn't want to order from a 3rd party cause of all the extra fees). Because of my past experience with this place, I didn't want to get too crazy with my ordering. I still ended up ordering a shrimp dish off their menu and a dessert that consists of sticky rice with coconut cream and mango. Let me just say that the shrimp I ordered was inedible. The shrimp tasted really old. It was so hard to chew, it was truly unbelievable. I ended up not eating it. I will admit though, the dessert was very good. My friend ordered their Pad Thai (I made sure she stayed away from any of their curry dishes), but she was unimpressed. I would only ever go back for their dessert, but that's highly unlikely. Pretty expensive but they give you 5 super large shrimps and the dish was great. Green curry was also top notch. Spicy but the coconut milk was so creamy. We got vegetables, which was a good call. I love this place. I haven't been able to get dessert roti for the longest time and they have it here. I love the drunken noodles with just the right amount of spice. My husband always gets something new for dinner with his standard, never-disappointing curry puff. He's mostly enjoyed his menu adventures. A happy ending: This outstanding Thai went back and forth with their management. The former family business was bought by a different owner; the quality of the food changed for the worse, but was still good. However, during the pandemic we noticed the food started getting better again-- only to learn that the original management is BACK! The green curry chicken has the right balance between spice and heat. The Duck Kraprow is crispy, spicy, and sweet. It's been a struggle finding great Thai food in Westchester, but Durian proved to be better than the rest. First of all, this is a TINY restaurant. Plan on waiting if you come at peak times on the weekend. FYI they don't take reservations and they don't take your name once you get there. We ended up waiting at the small bar for about 30 min on a Saturday night. The food was pretty good. I've been to Thailand and have taken cooking classes there, so I'm a bit spoiled. But the red curry was spicy and flavorful and had tons of tofu. I wish some of the tofu had been replaced with some other veggies, it would have made a more balanced curry. The rice that came with this was very good. My husband had the drunken noodles which was also pretty good with a nice mix of tofu and veggies. The papaya salad was very good and the juice from the lime added an extra zing. We both asked for our dishes to be a #1 level spicy, because they warned us that a #2 level of spiciness was pretty hot. The only disappointment was the dessert. The mango sticky rice was not as good as what I've had in Thailand. The rice was a little too mushy, and a little more coconut milk would have made it better. The mangos however were delicious. We are both vegetarian and asked for our entrees without fish or oyster sauce. The kitchen was accommodating, I just hope they truly didn't put any in our dishes! read more

Reliable usually although it's declined since openi The website didn't take our order with 10-% discount and I came in after 30 minute wait only to be told they don't have my order. I asked for a courtesy discount since we had record of it on our side but they said it don't go through so therefore no discount. Sort of clueless on customer relations; some nice young people running the shops but no adult supervision. The food at this restaurant was impeccable. The flavor on my palate was exquisite. It had the right amount of spicyness that I did not even need the extra hot sauce I asked for. Apparently Durian took our order and then failed to notify us that they were closing/closed. They charged our card and didn't tell anyone that it wasn't going to be made or delivered. This spot is one of those "you get what you pay for" restaurants. I enjoy Thai food a lot...but this spot just takes it to a new level altogether. My buddies and I ordered a few different things from them- including the drunken noodles and thai fried rice. Both were nothing short of excellent!! I haven't had thai food this good in so long! The only relative draw back is that this spot is on the pricier side, but the food to me is personally worth it and one of the better Thai spots in the area.
