Delicious Thai food in Nyack, especially love the pad see ew, pad thai and red curry. Beautiful decor and staff as well.

It's a really cute place with cozy and authentic decor. The food is exceptionally delicious! We ordered the shrimp drunken noodles and mango shrimp -- both were very tasty. Just a heads-up: make sure to tell the waiter how spicy you want your food, because it can be spicy . Overall, everything was very delicious, and we'll definitely be coming back to try more dishes! read more

What a treat to get great Thai food outside of NYC. All the dishes were as good as you can get from NYC. And reasonably priced too. Service was excellent. Decor is cute, with lots of Thai art and artifacts. All the furnishings are old, but it all lends to an authentic atmosphere. The bathroom was dated but very clean. Looks like the place has been here quite a while, which is a good sign. Nice location, right on the main strip in Nyack. read more

It's hard to come across true family owned restaurants in busy metropolitan areas but this one turned out to be a hidden gem. We were recommended to visit this place by a few locals in the area and thank goodness we didn't take their words for granted. The establishment is located on a busy street with plenty of other spots to choose from but if you're looking for authentic Thai food, look no further. For starters, they offer a vegetarian menu with plenty of tofu dishes. Each item offers a picture and accurate description. The prices are very fair and every member of their staff smiles, providing you with ample time to make a selection. Apparently local yoga sessions are actually hosted inside the restaurant itself - and at one point during our meal, a few patrons asked the owner what time and date the sessions take place. The family must also close the restaurant once a year during the Thai New Year so that they can all travel to their homeland. The inside is not extremely packed and the walls make you feel like you're eating in someone's actual home. The pictures here speak for themselves but every dish was delicious and seem to have very fresh ingredients. read more

King and I - Wonderful duck wraps - Thai Near Me - Nyack, New York

Had another fabulous lunch there.. Started out with Mee Grob as an appetizer. It was really crunchy and delicious with the tangy, tamarind sauce. As an entrée, I ordered the seafood delight and my friend ordered the pad Kee Mao. The seafood was extremely fresh and the vegetables were crisp and perfect. As usual, the drunken noodles were silky and flavorful with lots of chicken. The service is exceptional, and the employees are beyond nice. Always a wonderful experience here. read more

We were seated right away (this was 1pm late lunch) and greeted with a smile by Pom. Pom and her sisters run this family restaurant which has very homey touches in their decoration. Pom was very kind the entire time and ambiance is dark, not noisy, and comfortable. We ordered the duck pad Thai and duck drunken noodles and they were delicious! We also ordered the mango sticky rice which was the perfect end to our meal. We will def be coming back to support this great local business. Thank you Pom! :) read more

The food was reasonably priced, and for good portions. We ordered the drunken noodle and pad see ew. Both dishes were made to order, and we're very fresh. We stopped in on a quiet Wednesday evening, just passing through on our way west. The food was so amazingly good that we wondered why we we the only ones in the dining room! My wife had a fine cosmopolitan while I enjoyed a Lao dark beer - something different! Terrific soups and Thai-style empanadas- such much flavor! Then our entrees: shrimp mango red curry and chicken pad Thai. OMG! Pad Thai can be a bit Ho-him, but not this dish! So flavorful with very high quality ingredients. And the curry was rich and balanced with lots of good sized shrimp in a tasty coconut milk based broth. Eat here and you will be very glad you did. read more

I am a big fan of Thai food and am pretty discerning with my tastes when it comes to Thai. This establishment has been here in Nyack since the 1980's. The owner is terrific! We stopped in here and were seated promptly. We tried a variety of different dishes from Pad Thai, Pad See Yu, Kanom Jeeb (dumplings) and chicken satay. All of the dishes were great. The pancake duck was fabulous. If you haven't tried duck, you have to try this one! Complement your meal with a Thai Iced Tea. Make a stop into this place and get a great taste of Thai cooking! read more

This is an embarrassment for Thai food. I ordered Thai fried rice with shrimp and they gave me leftover rice, which was coagulated with four pieces of shrimp for $17. It did not taste like Thai food at all. It was made with soy sauce and rice and four pieces of shrimp never will go back over there again. read more

Look I'm going to be honest, I'm all about small businesses thriving but if you're going to get Thai food in nyack, go to Thai house. Food at the king and I was kind of bland (not what you want from Thai ya know?). Also when you order curry takeout they don't give you rice ???? That's extra? They are super nice in there so I mean I would go in for their curry puffs and maybe a Thai ices tea read more

Very authentic Thai food and great selection! Always here when we have a craving for Thai food. Probably one of the best in NY area.

Don't sleep on this place! The food was incredibly delicious, and the perfect portion size for one meal. Great service, and a soothing atmosphere. We loved it! read more

Came here for an early dinner Saturday evening. The restaurant is decorated with items from Thailand, and the ambiance is pleasant. The lighting was especially good for taking food photos. I only saw one person working the entire time I was there. I feel like she's plays the role of hostess, waitress, and chef. I ordered the karee (curry) puffs as an appetizer. They were very hot and flaky, without being too greasy. They had a potato filling that was more sweet than spicy. For my entree, I had the Ped Choo Chee, half of a duck served flambe in a coconut curry sauce. The presentation was awesome. The flames were extinguished from the sizzling plate using the coconut curry sauce. The duck was deboned very well, which is great since dealing with bones are the worst part about ordering duck. The sauce was mildly spicy though I had requested it very spicy. Overall, my meal was enjoyable and I would return. read more

I recently visited a college friend in her hometown of Spring Valley. While there I wanted her to show me some of the local restaurants she goes to. King and I is a local restaurant that her and her parents have frequented over the years. I love Asian cuisines so I was very excited to have a nice Sunday dinner here! I started with the Goong Krabog (shrimp, ground chicken and coriander wrapped in spring roll paper, served with Thai sweet and spicy dipping sauce). I appreciated how hot and fresh they were. The spring rolls were fried to crispy perfection and the shrimp on the inside was deliciously tender. However, I didn't really pick up the taste of chicken. These were a lovely ease into the entire meal. For our entrees, I ordered the Seafood Delight which included sautéed shrimp, sea scallops, lobster meat, and squid served with mixed vegetables in a chili paste sauce and white rice. My friend who is a vegetarian that is transitioning into a vegan, ordered the Gang Dang Tao Hoo (tofu, bamboo shoots, peas, carrots, eggplants, and basil in a coconut-red curry sauce) from the vegetarian menu. The Seafood Delight was even more delicious than the Goong Krabog. The pieces of seafood were large, tender, and fresh. The chili sauce had just the right amount of heat and flavor. My one caveat is that I needed more rice to soak up the delicious sauce. I also appreciate their extensive vegetarian menu. Although times are changing, finding true vegetarian options at standard restaurants can be a hassle. My friend enjoyed her entree except for the pieces of eggplant; she mentioned that the eggplant was slightly undercooked but, everything else was delicious. Whenever I'm back in the area, I look forward to dining here again. The restaurant looks, feels, and tastes authentic so that's always a nice touch. read more

We drove half hour to try this place from a friend's recommendation. However, we were very disappointed in the food. Everything we ordered was on the bland side. beef pad thai - the pad thai was good but the beef was bland Drunken noodle - the dish smells good but was completely bland, I'm not sure if they forgot to put salt. On a positive note, the server were really nice. read more

Food: Oily, unique, and well seasoned Decor: Antique, dusty, and crowded, filled with religious idols, and relics SMELL: Urine!! The bathroom aroma of old subway-like urine pierced through the walls and right at the dining table. The smell of urine overshadows the entire experience. We switched tables, but because the place is so small and crowded, the smell was everywhere and on everything. read more

Just finished such a quite relaxing and satisfying dinner here after a long stressful week . place is spotless and takes you on a journey to Thailand with all the decor and such fresh vibrant food and a great family owned establishment . Started with shrimp and pork wantons with sweet and sour sauce so light and chopped up perfectly to fit wonton.also ordered Thai style chicken and potato empanadas that were hand made and very light and flavorful. Tried the duck wraps wow so tasty and fresh with herbs and salad. For main I had to try the shrimp Pad Thai can't go to a Thai restaurant and not order that. It had a lot of aromatics without being to heavy and overpowering. Not over sauced knock u over head kind. Wife ordered the chicken drunken noodles she loved how the chicken was grilled not just thrown in. Nice wide noodles that were not over cooked mush like most places. Parking is a nightmare but do yourself a favor and download Flowbird app for parking it's a lot easier. Place is very reasonable and i def recommend a try. read more

Best Thai food in Rockland. The Thai Iced teas are delicious. The apps and all the entrees are amazing. My favorite is the chicken pad Thai. It's hands down the best pad Thai around. This cute restaurant sits in the heart of Main Street. It's usually not busy during lunch time, so feel free walk in. Pam the hostess and waitress is simply amazing. She welcomes you with the biggest smile and very friendly. Lunch special includes a drink, an appetizer and an entree for $10. There are varieties on menu. The drunken noodles is slightly sweet but good. They add raw beets, carrots and cabbage, which is different but works well together. The other dish which starts with k (forgot the name) was good too. Onions, peppers and carrots with brown rice. The spring roll was crispy and tasty. The salad had peanut dressing was was simply delicious, I wanted to pick the plate afterwards. This might be my new lunch spot. read more

This is probably the worst Thai food I've had. I always get a pad Thai when I go to new Thai restaurants because if you can't get that right then the rest is probably not good. The pad Thai was bland and not spicy which I asked for. The satay was bland and the chicken was dry. The kao pad was not flavorful either. Thai has so many spices and flavors how can you make all of this bland. Very disappointed being that this place has good ratings. Go to the Thai place in orangeburg that is way more authentic. I'm pissed I just spend 33$ on this crap. Updated I just called the restaurant and told them that my chicken tastes sour and rancid. She was very rude and said I don't think you're right, everyone here eats everything. I said ok but my food doesn't take good at all. I told her I eat a lot of Thai food and this is not good at all. She then rushed me off the phone and said shes really busy and hung up on me. I was trying to get my money back. Unbelievable. If someone doesn't like the food take it as constructive criticism and apologize and do what you can to keep that customer. This was my first time eating there. And I'm never going back. read more

King and I - Not good at all. Bland. - Thai Near Me - Nyack, New York

Wow, talk about a blast from the past, this restaurant is decorated to the nines in the vein of late 70s early 80s elegance (think Thai version of the decor in Goodfellas circa after Henry gets out of jail and starts selling coke). My expectations of my meal were on the low side due to my initial impression of the decor being outdated, but boy was I wrong. I had shrimp pad thai, which is my least favorite Thai dish, but it's my safety dish in restaurants I'm suspicious of. I'm so glad I ordered it, because this was the best pad thai I've had in a restaurant. Ever. The portion was great, not too small and not too large. The noodles were very delicate and not over cooked, and the accompaniments (crushed peanuts, egg, spring onion, cilantro, bean sprouts, and carrots) were served in perfect ratios to the noodles and shrimp. As I ate my lunch the décor grew on me and I left the restaurant thinking two faux stone pillars displaying flake floral arrangements in a bathroom is totally normal and tasteful. I should also add that service was amazingly warm and attentive. Five stars for five star pad thai! read more

Caught between 2 and 3 stars, but I'll be generous this time. Good for when you want the white man's version of Thai food. Anything that says spicy is not very spicy at all (this coming from someone who doesn't handle too much spice). Everything is too sweet, except for the Thai ice tea. That wasn't very sweet, and could stand to have a little more milk. The stars were not owned for the food, it is for the ambiance. It is such a nice looking place, with charming utensils, nice decor, pretty plates... I even liked the umbrella in the straw of my drink! If the food was better, I would give them more stars, but as it is, it is an average Thai place for white people who like bland food to eat. read more
