Chive Pancake and Thai Ice Tea

Super cute cozy restaurant with authentic Thai dishes. Once you walk in you get hit with that fish sauce and Lysol smell aka scent of a true Asian house haha but don't go running off! One of the rare places I'll ever find chive pancakes, crispy and gooey? Yes please! And less oil than other places. Tom yum soup was nice and sour, fills you up more than you would assume. Exactly what I needed on a freezing day. Cannot remember the name of the noodle and the whole fish dishes. But husband said the noodles had a nice chew and was spicy enough to not even need any extra. My son loved the whole fish! I had to steal some and had zero regrets lol it was a tamarind sauce and spicy, it had a nice char, it was PERFECT and with some rice? Yup I was a tad jealous it wasn't my dish haha Overall this place is amazing BUT do keep In mind they do have a house dog that seems very house trained. Didn't jump on us or beg for food. Did come say hi a few times. But for those allergic or scared of dogs? Be mindful he/she do roam around freely.

The owners Mike & Nita are so welcoming and nice! We also love their dog Piper who is very well behaved. Nita comes from Thailand and we could tell the food was very authentic from the papaya salad with the true fish sauce flavor. The chive pancakes are so crispy and has the sticky rice chewy texture that boosts the mouthfeel. Loved seeing the sticky rice come out in the authentic bamboo container that we saw in our Thailand trip; they also wrap it up in plastic here which is more sanitary. Ribeye Steak from Crying Tiger was cooked to PERFECTION. Seared outside, perfect amount of fat, and perfectly cooked inside. Juicy and perfect texture. Only quip may be that the sauce was on the salty side, but it's meant to be eaten with the rice which balances that out. Ambience is nice, feels like you're in a train car, with beautiful decor from Thailand.

Heads up: the sign outside still says "Thai House". It's a tiny place on a side street off of Main Street. We went on a Thursday night for dinner. It was pretty quiet, there was a rambunctious group in the next room, but the noise level did t get bad. The wait staff was very sweet and kept our water glasses full. The food came out quickly (they seem to do a brisk take-out business!) We started with the scallion (or chive?) pancake. My folks liked it, not my fave. We ordered 3 dishes and shared everything; Massaman Curry (very good), Pad Thai (also good) and Ki Ma Muang (spicy, but crowd pleaser). Good Thai iced tea and we finished with their famous "Sizzling Roti" dessert. Very creative and surprisingly good. The roti is rolled with a filling (maybe cornflakes?) and then cut into slices. It comes with Thai ice cream, whipped cream and Thai Tea syrup. Very unique. My folks want to come back and I never say no to them. So we'll be back!

Where do I even begin?! The ambiance and decor promote warmth and welcome you. This place is truly a hidden gem. The wait staff is super friendly and accommodating! The drinks were amazing! I had a mango lemonade to start. The foodies that we are ordered fish, sausage, crab fried rice, crab Rangoon and the papaya salad. To say it all in one phrase "a symphony". Everything was fresh and hot, packed with flavor! We will be back soon.

We had lunch at Bangkok Station today and we were hopeful that it would be as good as it's predecessor. It was! We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The restaurant is immaculate! The owner was very helpful in discussing dietary restrictions in order to meet our needs! The service was prompt and all staff were gracious and friendly. Everything was delicious but our favorites include crispy duck, chive pancake, and shumai! A great experience. Highly recommended.

If you're looking for a date night spot I can genuinely recommend coming to Thai House Restaurant. I came with my date on a whim since the other place we wanted to eat was closed. It is in a cozy little corner of the town so it can be a bit easy to miss. The inside is ornate with decorations (reminded me of my trips to art museums and wondering through the Asian art sections!), and very intimate seating with you and other patrons. On to the foodies: Started with an a chicken satay. I thought it would be colored in peanut sauce (I'm a sauce fan 1000%) but it was presented as grilled chicken on a stick. Peanut sauce on the side, and a sweet clear glaze to also dip into. A sweet roll underneath the chicken that was grilled also. This app was pretty tasty though I would definitely try something else next time, personally. Pad Thai with squid was what my date got. He enjoyed it for what it was though it was a bit on the smaller side. I had a few bites and I thought it was subpar. The squid was a both dry and chewy, the pad Thai didn't have much sauce or flavoring to distinguish it from other pad thais. Kang lychee ped: the star of the show. When this came out I was giddy with joy. I knew from the looks and smell I was going to had a fantastic time savoring this dish. The sauce was so creamy, so sweet with a contrast of slight spiciness that hit the back of my throat once I swallowed the sauce. I wanted to drink this-- luckily it came with some white rice so that soaked up all the flavor. There was plantains (not my personal favorite but my date ate them and said they were very good), spicy peppers, tomatoes, pineapple chucks; and my very favorite, lychee!! I love the sauce covering the sweet lychee and once I ate it: pure bliss. The duck itself was crispy on the outside, delivering that satisfying crunchy bite while being tender and fatty where it counted for the best eating experience. I didn't want to share but of course, my date some some bites and he wishes he got that instead. Lastly, I got a lychee juice that was very underwhelming. I am a massive lychee fan especially the drinks that come with a strong flavor and sweetness from the fruit. This lychee juice felt watered down and very weak tasting, I was so disappointed--more so since it was $5 dollars and lackluster. The service was pretty good, the waiter was attentive enough with refilling water glasses. Though a bit awkward when it came to taking our orders, like he wasn't too sure in what we were getting. Also had no recommendations which I usually enjoy when dining out. Small note: the menus are pretty obtuse in size, while the tables are small so it was strange that the waiter didn't take the menu after we were done ordering our entrees. Thai House Restaurant: good if you want some duck, everything else seems a bit iffy. I only rated it with four stars because of the duck

    Tofu and Eggplant

Hands down, the best Thai food I have ever eaten. The dishes are aromatic and full of flavor, not greasy at all. The owners are fantastic as well. I recommend the tofu and eggplant, the pad Thai, all the curries, and the scallion pancakes. You can't go wrong. We are so lucky to have this gem on Nyack.

Tried this Thai restaurant for the first time. So tasty and delicious. We had the spring rolls, pork satay, fried fish (pictured) and pad see ew. Will come back again food was excellent! Service was super helpful and friendly. Atmosphere was nice and I felt very comfortable. Great spot in Nyack

We ordered beef satay, Thai fried rice, duck chili basil, and chicken red curry. I also had a bowl of Tom Yum soup, which was excellent -- fresh ingredients, tasty, spicy, and refreshing. Everything was flavorful and well prepared as usual. We also had a bottle of Singha beer and Thai green iced tea -- both great, and the imported Thai beer here is still very reasonably priced at $5.95. The restaurant was busy during our visit, which is usually a good sign. A couple things caught us off guard this time. We asked for shrimp crackers to snack on before the food arrived -- something they used to give complimentary -- and later noticed a $5 charge for them on the bill. There was also a 3% credit card fee added with no mention of it beforehand. If costs are rising and adjustments are needed, that's understandable. Just be transparent about it so customers aren't surprised when the bill arrives. The food itself was still very good, but the unexpected charges took a little shine off the experience this time.

I paired my meal with a Thai iced tea -- flavorful and refreshing, just not overly sweet (which some people might actually prefer). Appetizers: The curry puffs were delicious -- flaky, flavorful, but I definitely wished there were more than three. Chicken satay was well executed, but the honey ribs completely stole the spotlight. Super tender, flavorful, and easily the must-order on the starter list. Entrees: We ordered the deep fried filet snapper (with white rice) and the chicken Khao Soi. The Khao Soi was the standout of the night -- perfectly cooked noodles and a rich, coconut curry broth that was easily 10/10. The snapper was fried beautifully, and the mixed vegetables tasted incredibly fresh and bright -- almost ceviche-like in flavor. Portions were satisfying enough that I had zero room for dessert, but this is absolutely a spot I'd come back to explore more of the menu.
