The mini fried shrimp rolls were good as well basically the lower half of the shrimp the rolls itself didn't have any taste the sauce was really good. Food was good, but the service was disappointing. My mom and aunt went in first to get a table while my dad and I were still parking this past Saturday 5/2. My aunt, who is handicapped and has Down syndrome, needed to use the restroom, but the waitress told them they couldn't use it. They had to walk all the way to Dunkin' Donuts instead, which was frustrating and honestly embarrassing. When my dad and I finally came in, the waitress asked if it was for two, and I said no, for four. When my mom and aunt returned, it felt awkward knowing the restaurant had a restroom but didn't allow them to use it. That was very rude and disappointing. We did have a male server who was kind, and the food itself was good, so credit to the chef. However, after we finished eating, no one checked on us. I had to go up to the counter to pay, and no one asked if we needed a to-go box--I ended up getting one myself and packing my own food. I had the Pho, which had a delectable salty broth. The beef was also juicy and flavorful. Unfortunately, the sides - limes, basil, bean sprouts - were a little old. The noodles were also soggy. I LOVE THE DECOR HERE! It feels very pleasant to sit down at this location. However, I ordered the pho and felt its flavor was a bit lackluster. I crave a rich, powerful beef flavor when ordering pho. I felt the broth was just not that, and was easily overpowered with siracha and hoisin which is not a great sign. They were a bit skimpy with the tendon and meatballs, though there was a good amount of sliced beef. Good pho in the area. My go to order is Pho Chin. Broth is super tasty and it's a decent portion of noodles, but lacking in meat. They give the usual bean sprouts, basil, jalapeño, and lime. This place is awesome! I absolutely love their chicken pho when I'm feeling a little sick, it's cold outside, or on a rainy day. It totally hooks me up. The restaurant is clean and spacious with seating from tables for 2 to 6. They even have a table for a very large group by the window. Service is prompt, and the staff is very knowledgeable about the menu items and ingredients. When the weather starts getting chilly, we usually get the mini shrimp rolls instead of the summer rolls just because they taste delicious and are hot. I love this place! I go there often. I love that they have vegan & vegetarian options. I get the vegetarian pho most often. It's just so good. The new bowls keep it hot while you're eating it. Cozy and pleasant restaurant in a strip mall. Prices are very reasonable and food is good. We started with an order of yummy summer roll and one order of spring rolls, equally yummy. We came to Poughkeepsie for a wedding and whenever we travel, I always look up Vietnamese food. This was one of the places that came up on Yelp. Clean, quiet, and calm atmosphere! The tall Vietnamese waiter was kind, friendly, fun and super attentive. He was so great that we came back to have lunch before we hit the road back to nyc! We ordered two Vermicelli bowl grilled pork, egg roll and shrimp paste the first time we came back and fell in love. My partner also loved the Vietnamese iced coffee. Guess what!?! I have kids that love food as much as I do! My daughter loves Pho so I had to take her out to have some. She wanted just broth, noddles and tofu. Coming from the city, we've tried many different Vietnamese restaurants, but we were delightfully impressed by Saigon Pho. Not only is their food flavorful, their service is impeccable. Our waiter who seemed to be the owner(?) was incredibly friendly throughout our dining experience. Although the next time I'll make a review of the place in person, being able to order Pho via Ubereats from Saigon Pho made my whole experience. The food was very fresh, hot, and well prepared with no items missing from my order. I ordered a Thai iced tea which was very herbal and rich, paired along nicely with my Shrimp Pho. The shrimp was very fresh and clean, and you can tell the ingredients used are top notch quality. My husband ordered the Chicken pho which he loves as in other places in the city , it is very hard to find Chicken pho so this is a huge advantage. I'm so happy this place is reopen for dinning in. I miss having a big warm bowl of pho on a chilly day, nothing is more satisfying than belly full of yummy goodness! It's Chinese tradition to have noodles for birthday for longevity, so I'm here with my mom for my birthday lunch. I always order the house special pho but today I decided to venture out and order the Seafood egg noodle soup. Mom ordered the spicy beef noodle soup but sub for rice noodle instead (same noodle as pho). So even though the egg noodle soup was very good, I'm still partial to pho. My mom's spicy beef noodle soup was so good! I might just have to order that next time I'm here. The soup base has really great spice, a bit Chinese herb flavor, might not for everyone, but I'm totally loving it. You get the same fixing as pho... Bean sprouts basil leaves, lime wedges, and fresh jalapeno. I always dump everything in my soup for maximum satisfaction (not all of the jalapenos, of course). I've come back a few times and I do have to say that I am pleasantly surprised that the pho has been on pointe. Flavors are great and perfect for the cold weather. I even craved their pho in the middle of the summer because it was that good. My guess is that when I initially came here roughly 5 years ago, they may have had an off day or had a different recipe. I left a review a year ago and had no complaints. This time the food was decent but my Pho-Tom broth tasted different. My biggest issue was the service. When you enter there is a sign that states there are experiencing a staff shortage and they apologize for slow service. The problem though is when the servers are hanging out at the register with one another and never checking up on their tables. You can't blame a staffing shortage for bad service like that. Our server came over, dropped water off, and left. Then a few minutes later just asked if we were ready to order with no other pleasantries. She never came back to check on us even once. In fact she and the other server were just standing around talking by the register for the majority of our meal. Another server came by once to refill our water and just give us the bill. Happened to see this on my travels. Saw there were some solid reviews and convinced the wife to pop in for an early dinner. I had the beef special noodle soup (pho) and was enraptured by the flavors. Oh man, sliced beef, meatballs, tripe, and tendons in every bite. The broth at the bottom of the bowl was the perfect wrap up to the meal. The food is a solid 3 1/2 stars but I had to deduct for the very long wait.Be prepared to wait. But the food is great. You're not there for the atmosphere(- old-school decor is a bit like a diner), but you will get some pretty good food at a reasonable price. This time, we went on a rainy Saturday for a late lunch- the tables were packed with diners from every walk of life. it took the waiter a good 10 minutes to bring us menus, and another five or 10 to get us a pot of tea. He was clearly overwhelmed and understaffed. Don't lose hope if you have enough time definitely stay for the food. Their summer rolls are highly recommended for the generous appetizer portion that some people could eat as a lunch. TIP: Some food travel better than others: if you want to take your soup home ask for two containers, one for the noodles and feelings, and the other for the broth. PHO: Opt in for the Pho. It is what they are famous for. We ordered two types ($9.50 each) to share amongst the three of us, and asked for small bowls so we could sample. The rice noodles to Broath ratio was a little lacking but the side of beans sprouts, Thai basil, and jalapeños rounds out the dish very nicely. Don't forget to add some of those excellent condiments to taste. home for dinner. My American pallet did not care for the beef tendon which features gelatinous chunks of tendon as the highlight.The brisket was more my style. TIPS: go family-style- 1 appetizer, one PHO, one rice or noodle entree was plenty for three- we could have I included at least one other person and been fully satisfied. For two people or a small family, I suggest you order at one appetizer, one large Pho, I don't forget to try the flan for dessert it is exceptional. $47 including tax ( left a cash tip) and more than enough food for my friend got to take the leftovers. read more
