Very good pho! Amazing portions and flavor is just as good as any place in NYC or Orange County, CA. Banh mi, bun bo hue, spring rolls and rice dishes are also top notch. The Chicken Pho was fresh and I really appreciated the large portion but also felt it was slightly bland. The restaurant is well decorated with a large Christmas tree in the front. The restaurant is located in a strip mall and the inside is clean and orderly. There's the normal sriracha, hoisin sauce and also a special hot sauce similar to sambal (homemade I think). Super glad to see this place in Poughkeepsie - usually Poughkeepsie has nearly no good Asian food but I really appreciated having a solid Vietnamese place near my mom's house! This restaurant is in the strip adjacent to the Dunkin in what used to be Imperial Plaza. The pho, banh mi sandwiches and vermicelli were authentic and the menu has the expected wide variety of different noodle and rice dishes. The dumpling appetizer was great for the kids and was topped with fried shallots and scallion oil. Portions are huge, plenty of room to sit, service was kind and they were swift to get our food out, which was much appreciated with us having 2 small kids with us. Came here for lunch with my daughter & her friend. My daughter is new to Vietnamese food. She fell in love with the pho with one of their home made sauces in it (hoisin). Long, he helped us with all the different dishes and explained each one to us that my daughter quizzed him about. Like the other reviewers stated, it's small and intimate. Very clean and the staff are amazingly sweet. They did open up their second location and my daughter plans on going there with her coworkers. The food is definitely enough for two meals. Got delivery and would like to recommend this place. Delivery was as promised and food was hot and delish! I ordered fish pho and it was full of large shrimp with plenty of rice noodles, bean sprouts and fresh basil. The tub of broth was generous and full of flavor. This is the real deal! When we lived in Hong Kong, we ate Vietnamese at least weekly. Our boys relocated from HK when they were 2, 4 & 7. When we arrived, I could barely contain my excitement, while our younger boys - now 13 & 15 - looked at me oddly. My eldest wasn't with us. When the pho arrived, my youngest smelled it and said, "I remember this! We haven't had this in a long time." When my middle one tasted it, he said, "Holy Vietnam!" Unlike in Hong Kong, the portions are ginormous. I usually ordered two Vietnamese chicken salads for myself in HK, but today, I couldn't finish the one I ordered. Lots of fresh, crunchy vegetables. They have a counter, but it is a sit-down place. When you enter, wait to be seated and you will be quickly taken care of. Many people are coming in for take-out; usually, the dining room has a few full tables. The staff is very friendly. The food is excellent. We almost always order appetizers. Usually dumplings or spring rolls. Both are great. The best part of the spring rolls is using the lettuce wrap. The food always comes out quickly. As for the Pho, it is a huge portion and so flavorful. They give you sauces on the table that are yummy. They also give you a plate of bean sprouts and limes. I ordered number 44 Com bo xao xa (Beef lemongrass over white rice) and requested that the chief to lower the added sugar to 1/4 or half as I don't like my disk too sweet and avoid too much added sugar. I am not like the other reviewers who records their review blatantly in front of the restaurant owner or staff to get better service or free food. I've gone to many places recommended by popular YouTubers or Yelpers and found those places mediocre at best.... scam artists they are! ATTENTION RESTAURANTS!!!...I say the following to ALL restaurants I visit. 1. All I want is for the restaurant owners to be fair in their food pricing/quantity... a little bit more of noodle and soup isn't that expensive to keep the patron satisfied and satiated and still make a profit, right? 2. Quality is given, right? So keep these to the highest level. (I am NOT talking about serving waggyu or organic ingredients.) 3. God knows how well the dishes and utensils are cleaned at your restaurant or even at a highend place... I keep to the disposable utensils for peace of mind. 4. Condiment containers should be sticky/tacky free from dried oil and hand grime... a bottle of hand sanitizer at the table is so much appreciated! 5. The seats should NOT try to rip my wallet out of my pocket or have my wife leave the restaurant without her skirt. Do a deep cleaning 3 to 4 times a year. 6. Have the cooking and wait staff wear masks! They speak and shout over the food all the time. It can't be avoided. So have them wear it! This place is delicious! We came with a party of 9 people (4 adults and 5 kids). We were seated promptly on a Saturday evening at 6pm. The restaurant was probably 80% filled. The food came out perfectly. We had pork chops over rice (very flavorful and perfectly charred around the edges); three types of pho-rare steak, brisket, and chicken (the soup was warm and comforting, with delicate scents of star anise and cinnamon swirling around); bbq chicken and house special noodles with a little of everything on top (good, solid authentic flavors); we had some rolls for appetizers (good flavors, but wish they had mint or basil in the rolls in addition to iceberg lettuce and noodles). The star of the dinner was the spicy beef noodles (bun bo hue). The soup was a nice spicy lemongrass soup. The flavor was strong, authentic, and addictive. I'd definitely come back here for more delicious food when I am in the area. The total bill including drinks, appetizers, and dinner for 9 people was around $200 (including 20% tip).
