Not bad food. It was on the greasy side, but we all know that when we drive up. The onion rings were nice and crispy, but they were also sitting in a pretty good layer of oil by the time we got home. I've lived here for almost 8ys and haven't tried Pirates yet... my in-laws always wanted Pete's and I only ate with them once but I didn't like it. Well finally tried Pirates! The shrimp and fish were both juicy and not dry or rubbery like Pete's. Perfectly salted for my husband high BP. Sauce is definitely better. I mean they were frozen then fried chicken nuggets, I was expecting exactly that since I ordered chicken nuggets. They were good enough that I would get them again, they were piping hot and I have no complaints. The fries were super tasty! I was very surprised I liked them so much, but I did. It was fast. They have Diet Dr Pepper, and it was bubbly. They have a fairly traditional tartar sauce, if that's your cup-o-tea. They take credit cards. And that's the end of my list. Other than that -- my goodness, it was terrible. Just terrible. Drive the few extra miles to get the real thing at Pete's. The definitely re-fry the food, and fail to drain it out of the fryer. Be prepared for a little pool of brown oil at the bottom of your paper dish, and for everything to taste burnt. Gross, gross, gross. Like seriously, please, don't go here. Go to Pete's. Unfortunately they can't seem to get an order right, whether you pick it up yourself or order through a delivery service. We have had issues EVERY time we've ordered or went there. Their answer is always "give us your name and phone number, so when you come back we can replace on your next visit ( spoiler.. they never replace the missing items) As much as we love Petes fish and Chips (pirates is owned by the same people) we will not order here again. After they have been given several chances to get a simple order right, they can't apparently. Each time we call to get a problem addressed, they want to talk down to you, or treat you like you're bothering them. I had went there Saturday night the 26th of Sep at around 6pm to get my mother a Two piece Fish and Chip meal before I left for an event. Wrapped up in with the food was a bloody napkin and a discarded bandaid wrapper. We made contact with the manager who basically said it was a lie and that the ted spots were hot sauce. This used to be our favorite place but the service has deteriorated. MAKE SURE TO CHECK ORDER BEFORE YOU LEAVE! We have a large family and always place a large order. They no longer take phone orders so it is a long wait once there. The last few times we have not even received everything we ordered and paid for. Today we made sure to have the person picking up check to make sure the extra sauce we paid for there (never enough sauce with the extra large shrimp or fish especially when they pack bags so full the sauce cups pop open and spill and but don't even get 1/2 the time) only to find out the burgers ordered were not even in any of the bags. I visit Pirates at least once a month to satisfy the craving! Unfortunately they can't seem to figure out the cooking process. Fried fish is always sitting in the basket for a re-fry to fill orders, the fish absolutely is disgusting like a piece of cardboard soaked in grease. Cooked French Fries waiting in the basket for a re-dip to heat and fill orders just soaking up grease. Now tonight, I sat and watched as they pulled 2 pieces of already fried fish and dropped in another basket and began frying again. I went to the window and let the lady know I didn't want that fish being re-fried and wanted it fresh cooked. Advised her of previous bad orders I wasted money on, her response was they received some bad fish a few weeks ago. If it was bad, then stop serving it you can see its bad. It's not a fish issue it's a bad business practice. That's how they are trained to fill orders fast.
