Great bartender! Parker , fun & energetic! Food, AHMAZING! From Tucson will return! Plus... shooting range next door!

The Ammo burger was delicious. Good quality meat and seasoning was awesome. Loved the fries too. They fry them in tallow which adds flavor. Danielle was our server and she was fun! Very accommodating. The atmosphere was relaxing and the place was designed well. Will be back!

We wanted to try a new restaurant for Sunday dinner so I searched Yelp and found four new spots close to us and sent the options to my wife and son. My son picked Smoke and Grain so we drove up there after dark. We weren't sure if it was open as it looked dark inside but as we approached the front sliding doors it opened up and it was nice and bright and clean inside. We were warmly greeted and told we can sit anywhere. They have about 10 tables inside and a decent-sized bar. The first table we sat at had hard wooden chairs with no padding and both my wife and I were instantly uncomfortable, but we saw most tables had chairs with padding so we moved to one...much nicer chairs. The restaurant is themed around the adjacent gun range. There's some patriotic decorations and others around guns and ammo. There's a half-dozen TVs on the walls as well if you're looking for a place to watch sports or special events. The menu had standard gastropub fare- burgers, pizza, sandwiches, appetizers and more. I ordered a coconut shrimp basket with fries, my son ordered the hot wings and my wife ordered a mushroom swiss burger. We all enjoyed our entrees but the standout were the french fries...nice and sturdy and crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. Perfectly seasoned. My son ended up eating half of our fries because he loved them! We enjoyed our first dining experience here and will likely visit again and try some new dishes! Thanks for the wonderful evening

Hungry for lunch, my son and I played restaurant roulette on the phone. We just did a search for something close and came up with this place. When we arrived, we were a little confused because the big sign on the building says Wicks, but we noticed that the door said Smoke & Grain. This place is inside (or connected to) a shooting range, which also kind of threw us off. But we managed to find it and went in. It's a cute little place with a bar and several tables that were decorated with fall centerpieces and little fabric pumpkins. It kind of had a country feel. Our server was very sweet and they didn't mind when I had a special order. I love, love, love hot dogs, but I love them dress my way - - mustard, fresh tomatoes, fresh chopped onions, and jalapenos. Our server said it wouldn't be a problem, and it wasn't - - my hot dog was perfect. My son got the Philly cheese steak. I did not try it but it did look delicious and he said it was. What was really the star is the fantastic french fries that came with both of our meals. They are the kind of fries that are so crispy - - I think they may batter them in some way?? Anyway, they were absolutely crispy and delicious. I'm not going to lie. Kind of thought this place would be "meh," but we both really liked the food and service here. Definitely will put this on repeat, especially for the french fries!

Primerib dip with hose seasoned fries. Very generous on the prime rib.

Stopped in last night for a bite to eat and beer with my wife. Great place, service from our bartender Dani and the staff. Nicely done inside with plenty of seating for everyone to enjoy the food, beverages, and company. Very subtle atmosphere to watch sports and not to loud where you can still have a conversation. Food service is pretty quick and a varied menu to choose from. This place is situated slightly behind Top Golf and the Main Event on Greenfield and Ray road. Check it out, you won't be disappointed.

Stopped in for lunch based on a few lists stating it has one of the best burgers in the SE valley. It was a decent burger but was very heavily seasoned. Fries were alright, and wait staff was pleasant. Nothing wrong with it, but not a contender for best burger in my opinion.

Hubby & I had dinner here tonight. You seat yourself. Our server came over promptly. Hubby ordered his favorite draft beer. I ordered Titos & cranberry juice. My drink was good. Hubby's beer wasn't very cold. He ordered a tall, but it was the same size as a short any other place. We got the chips & salsa and added Queso. Hubby ordered the chicken strip basket with fries. I got the fried chicken sandwich with fries; no tomato or onion. The chips were stale. Our server brought us new ones & the same thing. The salsa was spicy even for hubby & he love spicy. My sandwich was supposed to have D'wan sauce on it, but there wasn't any sauce on it. It was okay, but a little dry. Hubby's strips were huge & thick. Not what he expected. The honey mustard was more like Carolina Gold & runny. There's no reason for us to go back. Happy hour is over at 5:00! A chicken sandwich & fries is almost $20! Ive had much better chicken sandwiches for way less.

This was the 2nd time that we visited this place. Today they had a Mother's Day brunch everything was amazing from the service and ambiance to the food. The staff there is always top notch and knowledgeable. Definitely will be back. If your in Gilbert you should definitely pop in and give theses guys a try.

The food is absolutely phenomenal! Beef tallow out the wazoo!! The environment is always super clean and well kept up and the staff are always the nicest people you could ask for when going out to eat! I highly recommend the Fish n Chips or starting of with their bomb chicken egg rolls!! This is our number one go to spot for family dinner night!

First time trying, wasn't even aware of location but the food was good and our server Patrick was extremely nice. We were first in the door so no wait time. Wings could have been a little crisper but we'll be back!

Food was excellent! Ask for Pat he is the best! Unfortunately the bar has Worst bar stools ever, imagine being in a rocket ready to launch forward but never getting to the countdown, just leaning forward for the duration of your stay. If you plan to sit at the bar, this may not be the place for you. We learned from the last time and brought concrete spacers, better but still uncomfortable after 30 min

Of course, this place is known for its cocktails, so naturally they should be great--but trust me, I've been to several cocktail-only establishments that were lackluster. Absolutely NOT the case here. You could literally put all the pages of the menu on a wall, throw a dart, and whatever you hit would be delicious and interesting in its own right. The place is a little small, but honestly, that's what I love about it. It feels cozy in all the right ways. It's also very relaxing, floating along the sea with some delightful surprises here and there. We ordered several drinks, but one that's not on the menu (and they do make it) is the Pearl Diver, which is magnificent here. The mixologists and servers are all amazing and should be proud of themselves for bringing such an experience to Gilbert.

We were waiting for dinner at Buck and Rider and went next-door to see if we could get a drink while waiting. The host greeted us nicely and said that as long as we could be gone within 45 minutes that they would love to welcome us in since they had other reservations, but that worked out perfect because like I said we were waiting for our table next-door anyway. It is small but decorated beautifully thankfully there are no steps because it is dark and you kind of feel a little lost as you're walking through but the ambience is very cool. It feels like just tropical and lush all around you. We were seated at a two top along the wall, which seemed like a small space however, it had a really cool cut out window with a moving landscape of water and an island that through the course of the time as we were sitting there, changed to a storm and then cleared it up again it was just really beautiful visually and didn't feel so closed in. The menu was a large variety of cocktails obviously you need to like rum and bourbon and all of the things that pirates and island feels give. Our server made some suggestions. We ordered two different drink drinks. The first was the macadamia nut piña colada I think we are expecting a little more coconut flavor to this drink however, it was very delicious. Definitely strong. The other was actually our server suggestion that had peaked my interest because it had guava in it and that was called off the grid. It was delicious. It was perfectly balanced with sweet and sour lemon, pineapple guava with bourbon and other flavors. On our way out, I did hit the restroom. They have two neutral bathrooms. It was large. It was very clean, decorated beautifully like the rest of the restaurant. All in all a great way to start the night.

I went with my bestie and her bf. And her bf ended up chatting with the guy at the bar while my bestie and I sat down. Anyway, as we got seated, we were handed a menu (food and cocktails). We received water after we ordered our own drinks. My friend and I got the same thing. It had like lychee and lemon in it while her bf had this pornstar drink. The only name that I recall from the cocktails side of the menu lol. After deciding what to get from the main course, we were ready to eat. We waited and waited and waited some more but no one came back to check up on us. We were there about an hr, having a good time chatting of course, can't ruin my birthday but also we were very hungry. So my friend's bf got up the table, went to the bar and asked for the check. He was going to pay but I said it's on me. I left no tip with bad customer service as no one came back to us. I guess it pays to be at the bar and all the outside seating. Really wanted to try the food. Very disappointing. Sorry.

But a friend wanted to meet for food around the area and this spit popped up on Yelp. It didn't disappoint! I was skeptical at first as having a sign posted at the sidewalk and a bouncer outside the stairs going down, was a sheer sign that this isn't such a secret and speakeasy-like spot. But I was proven wrong very quickly. Dre who was the bouncer and I'd much rather call Drayden, is young but friendly. The hall leading down to the entrance was well decorated. It's hard to miss the door when you can hear people on the other side :). Hostess was nice. Alex immediately introduced himself from behind the bar as I sat down, and Meagan was the main bartender this night. They were both a wealth of knowledge when it came to cocktails. This time was checking…read moreout a speakeasy located in the heart of downtown Gilbert on a Friday evening at 9 p.m. I parked for free on the street before making my way to The White Rabbit. There are some things I really love about The White Rabbit and some that I didn't. Ambiance (3/5): When I think of a speakeasy, I think intimate. The White Rabbit is not that. It's pretty large for a speakeasy with a large bar and a good number of tables/booths. They weren't at capacity while I was there, but there were a good number of people there. Which made it pretty loud. To the point where you have to yell at your bartender when ordering your drink so they can hear you. Perhaps a much different experience on a week day. Getting in the speakeasy was both a hit and a miss. If you're subscribed to their email list, as I am, you get a different password every month. I was excited about this. Upon approaching The White Rabbit, I saw a sign naming the establishment and pointing me in the right direction. This takes away from the spirit of speakeasies which are supposed to be truly hidden without any signage identifying the restaurant. You'll see a velvet rope blocking a stairwell where you tell one of the bouncers the password. I had a reservation. If you don't know the password, as another party there didn't, they ask you to access a QR code to find out or ask others who are waiting. I appreciated the dedication to the cause. Once you get in, you walk down the stairwell, and then enter a cool hallway decked out with Prohibition-style decor. That leads you into the main room. The main room is also Prohibition-style though a bit unremarkable. The bathrooms are clean and also feature some cool paintings (and they also hide that they are actual bathrooms). With that being said, when I liked the hallway and the bathrooms better than the bar itself, that's a bit of an issue. Seats at the bar are bar stools without back support. Never fun for my old man back. I did, on the other hand, appreciate that they have free WiFi. Service (3.5/5): The service was generally pretty good, though a bit slow. They start you off with some water without asking you which is always a nice touch. It was just one of those situations where you have to put some effort into getting a bartender's attention on several occasions. Food (N/A): I had dinner prior so no food for me. I did check out the menu. They have a small selection of appetizers, flatbreads, and desserts. Drinks (3/5): When I'm at a speakeasy, I'm looking for creativity and an interesting blend of ingredients and flavors. While The White Rabbit has a good number of cocktails, many of them didn't attract me. Part of it is a matter of personal preference. There were only two drinks out of about 20 that I was interested in. Overall, I wanted a little more, but with that being said, the drinks were reasonably priced for a speakeasy. Not a bad speakeasy by any means, I have super high standards when it comes to these watering holes. Just not in my top five when it comes to speakeasies in Phoenix and surrounding areas.

On a Saturday night after grabbing some ice cream at Topo, we stopped by Sotol Modern Cocktail…read moreKitchen for a nightcap. Located in downtown Gilbert, Sotol is a rooftop bar and restaurant. I love a good rooftop and the weather was perfect. While they don't have a parking lot, free parking is available on the street and in the various surface lots and garages in the area. Ambiance (4.5/5): It's tough to beat a rooftop. Here you'll have nice views of downtown Gilbert, including the historic Gilbert water tower (which lights up at night). It's not a huge restaurant/bar, probably 50 seats or so. A good number of tables and then 15 seats or so at the bar. We sat at the bar. There's a pretty nice mural on one end too. Service (4/5): A little slow to start out with and to close out, but overall, friendly. We found one of the last four remaining seats at the bar. If not for that, there would have been a wait. One drink and then we made our way. Overall, about average. Food (N/A): I was on a liquid diet for this visit but they do have a full menu. Drinks (4/5): Interesting craft cocktail list. The first one on the list is a Sotol cocktail. If you've never had Sotol, it's a Mexican spirit. Not tequila and not mezcal, but somewhat similar to mezcal and it does have a bit of a smoky flavor. The Sotol So Good has sotol, butterfly pea, coconut rum, pineapple, lime, and orgeat. It's purple so it makes an impression. It packs a punch too. If you're looking for a cool spot to grab some food and drinks in the heart of downtown Gilbert, when the weather is nice, Sotol is a great choice!

The atmosphere was modern and open, and the…read moreservice started off a bit off-putting, though it improved slightly as the visit went on. I've been wanting to check this place out for a while. Right from the start, the elevator was out of order, which wasn't ideal. When we got inside, the place was mostly empty -- only a couple of other guests -- yet we were told to sit anywhere except along a section of tables by the wall. I pointed out a table at the far end, well away from the entrance, but was directed instead to what felt like the least desirable table, with the reasoning being they might need the space for a large party. After a bit of back-and-forth, they eventually let us sit where we preferred, but it made for a poor first impression -- especially considering the restaurant never filled up. Tried a few cocktails -- they were well made and enjoyable, definitely the highlight of the visit. Overall, good drinks but the initial experience left a sour note -- may or may not return. Saluti.

Seriously, the cook in the back deserves a standing ovation for what's coming out of that kitchen. I ordered the teriyaki bowl (not sure what they officially call it) and WOW... it was like being instantly transported back to my go-to Seattle spots. The flavor, the freshness, the balance--it was flat-out amazing. Pair that with an ice-cold beer that actually comes out cold (looking at you, half-hearted draft pours elsewhere), and you've got yourself a win. Service was a little stretched thin since the bartender was also running tables, but she handled it well enough. Overall: fantastic food, clean atmosphere, cold beer--this place deserves way more hype. It's hard to not give them 5 stars based on the food that came out of that kitchen. I will be back might just make this the new go to place. Thanks again for the food, beer and service. Looking forward to next time.
