We were immediately seated. the server was attentive and friendly, not worried about us choosing the most expensive item on the menu. She gave us plenty of time to decide. Food is amazing as always. We started with brussels sprouts. Then a four meat pizza, a pesto pizza, and a burger. All delicious. Against our better judgment, we ordered a chocolate crème brûlée, which was a new dessert for all of us and even though we only planned on having a few bites, we almost finished it. Absolutely amazing if you're a chocolate connoisseur. Teamwork is obvious a waitress we didn't know offered to box up our pizzas. Apparently all the cool kids eat there. Do yourself a favor and make Nova a regular stop when you're in the area.

For our apps, we got the burrata which was pretty good but I didn't like the vessel it was served in. Hard to cut it up or have it ooze. We also got the bread which had great flavor but should have had some kind of spread with it. For dinner, he got the strozzapetti, which had great flavor to the pasta and sausage, but the greens were exceptionally bitter. We couldn't eat it. There was so much of it that it was overwhelming and we picked around it. I got the agnolotti which was amazing and unlike his dinner, my kale was soooooo good. Really well balanced dish. Service was well done. I would like to come back but wish they had more pasta options.

During our visit, we stumbled upon this charming, quaint restaurant, and I'm so glad we did. It was a Saturday evening, and despite not having a reservation, we were lucky enough to find two seats at the bar. We were immediately welcomed by Logan, who took our drink order and offered several recommendations, including the avocado salad. To die for! As we sat there, I couldn't help but notice how seamlessly the bartending team worked together. Watching them was truly impressive. The space behind the bar was limited, yet they moved in perfect harmony, never bumping into one another, always anticipating what needed to happen next, and effortlessly picking up where the other left off. It was like watching a beautifully choreographed performance. That evening, Logan was working alongside Kevin and Amanda, and together they made the experience exceptional. We ordered the scallops for dinner, and they were absolutely outstanding. Before leaving, I felt compelled to tell Logan how much we had enjoyed our experience and how fascinating it was to watch their teamwork in action. That's when he shared that it was actually the first night the three of them had ever worked together behind the bar. Honestly, I was shocked. They seemed like a team that had been working side by side for years. All I can say is they make the perfect trio. This place will not disappoint. If you're ever in the Bishop Arts District, I highly recommend stopping by. Between the incredible food, outstanding service, and remarkable team atmosphere, it's an experience you won't soon forget.

Beetarita was good, lots of vegetable and fruit flavors. Pork belly was solid, very tender and super easy to stretch - how meat should be. The vegetables were a nice add-on. Grilled salmon fattoush was great - yogurt sumac was a solid touch to mix with the sweet peppers/cucumber and gave a great contrast to the savory, crispy salmon. The crispy layer on the salmon was seared so nicely. And the best dish - the peach cobbler (summer season) was super delicious. Loved how well made this was! A special shout-out to the homemade crispy flat bread in the salmon fattoush! And our server was super amicable, the vibes were warm, elegant, farm-to-table.

Stock and Barrel is a lovely restaurant nestled right in the heart of BA District designed with a…read moregastro industrial aesthetic and an unpretentious vibe. Our server was very welcoming and kind and represented the restaurant with a lot of pride and praise. I just want to state that when prices for food and drinks are this high, I am going to be far more critical because I expect the food and experience to match the value. Below is a reflection of this and why I gave it 4 stars. We unknowingly arrived during their Happy Hour which was great because we got to enjoy some of their signature shareables at a nicer price. However, when they arrived, we were also told that the portion served was smaller because it was their Happy Hour. I would have been just fine never knowing that. Also, we were introduced to their snack specials before initially ordering as a small bite of food to enjoy while deciding what to eat. We were told it was best served one per person, so we ordered two of their Tartare on their Potato Tot, one for each of us. We also ordered their Happy Hour Whipped Feta and Ribeye Cigar Wraps. The shareables came out pretty quickly so we tucked into them. I want to be very clear when I say these were both absolutely delicious. The Whipped Feta was textural bliss and their toasted sourdough added to the experience. Wrapping the Ribeye Cigar in a lettuce leaf topped with their chimichurri was a heavenly bite if there ever was one. About 15 minutes later, just one of the Tartare Tots came out. We first were like, well too late for the snacking while deciding experience part of this and also weren't sure if we should wait for the other one. We just chalked it up as she didn't hear that we asked for two or the kitchen forgot. So we shared it and honestly, it too was absolutely amazing. Deeply flavorful tartare with the perfect crunchy salty bite of the tot hit the expectation right on the head. It was right about this time we got our second round of drinks. Her watermelon cocktail was honestly not enjoyable due to the lack of watermelon flavor in the drink, but it was nicely garnished with a pretty watermelon ice cube. Someone brought me a drink which wasn't what I ordered. I didn't mind, it was the other drink I was going to order so rather than make a fuss, I accepted it and it was nice. Our server noticed the mistake and tried to correct it. I let her know it was ok and I was enjoying this one. My wife ordered the Wagyu Meatballs and Charred Green Beans for her entree and I ordered the Crab Fried Spaghetti. Again, all were delicious. Excellent crunchy texture on the green beans, super tender and lucious meatballs, and my fried spaghetti had some char on the noodles, a nice hit of heat and spice, and the crab was cooked perfectly. The only problem was, her items were cold and my pasta was barely warm. We were running late for an event so we didn't have the capacity to mention it. Too bad though, served at the right temp, I'm sure both would have been knockouts. Also, I think we are done with 18 dollar drinks as a concept. Seems to be becoming a norm as of late and yea, the drinks were ok to good, but I don't know, it just seems egregious to me. But the food was exceptional and the service was polite and kind, despite the missteps. We'd probably come back and explore more their interesting and eclectic menu.

After waters were delivered, our drink order wasn't taken for at least 15-20 minutes after getting there. We placed our drink order and then waited, and waited, and waited for our first round of drinks to come. At one point I made the joke that I should be on my second drink by now(this turned into a joke about how I should be on my third). When the drinks finally came, everyone but mine was delivered, the waitress said that she was running back up to grab mine. She came back with my drink 10 minutes later. At this point we just placed our orders for food and I decided to place my next drink order at this point to help with the wait time. The waitress came back with the appetizer and I actually placed another drink order as well before my second drink came because I wanted to stay ahead of the game. 2nd and 3rd drinks actually came at a reasonable time and I started feeling like the night was turning around. Spoiler Alert: It wasn't. Entrees were delivered and surprise surprise, the food that was ordered with mine was delivered but mine was not. Waited for another long period of time and then my food was delivered. Was an apology of any sort ever given, no. Our waitress came to check back on the table very sparingly to the point we were waiting to place a dessert order so long we decided to take it to go. Ordered the monkey bread, got back to eat it and all the dough was raw. $200 bill between food and drinks for my wife and I and an appetizer for the table(there were others and other bills as well), still tipped 20% but there I would never recommend this restaurant for the service or the food. Great atmosphere great views. Service doesn't match the vibe.
