A recent Brunch at Pillar didn't disappoint on our first visit. Server was timely and helpful, and our 3 dishes were great. Not to mention the French Press Coffee....

I was slightly underwhelmed by Pillar. The atmosphere inside was very neat but the service was weak and the food was good but not amazing. We started off with the grilled leeks and beef tartare. The beef tartare was fantastic and the best item we had that night. The cook on the potatoes was excellent and the toppings were delicious. I have never had a dish like the leeks but also found it enjoyable. It is a very complex mix of flavors that go well together. I thought the fried chicken was going to be the star of the show but just didn't love it. The breading was ok on it and I didnt love the nduja sauce. Additionally, the corn bread brioche it came with was very dry. Overall, the starters were pretty solid at Pillar but the pricing, service, and entree makes me unlikely to come back.

Great service, decor, and vibe. Overall a great guest experience! Our first starter were free seasoned chips that were nice crunchy and flavorful. Then we had the Nashville hot oyersters. I didn't know it was possible to take the fishy-ness out of oysters but they figured out the formula be cause they were great! Then we had the meat pies which were basically deep fried pot roast no way to go wrong there. Our "salad" choice were the beets. Personally, my least favorite item we got as I thought they were bland and the cold mushy texture was not for me. I didn't like the crunch from the nuts though. Our entrees were the lamb and the burger. The lamb was gamier than I was expecting but had great flavor and overall was solid. The burger was outstanding and with the sauce and fries it was one of the better restaurant burgers that I've had. We also decided to try the brioche cornbread it was definitely unique but was more brioche bread than corn bread. We ended with the toffee cake which was not for me. It lacked depth and was more of an uninspired carrot cake than a toffee cake. I can see myself coming back to try more!

While I was on the fence after my first two visits, I have since been back for another dinner and brunch. The food is creative, unique and beautifully plated and the service makes it shine. Our server knew every aspect of the menu...both food and drinks...and took time to describe each dish and cocktail in detail. The olive and date starter, the meat pies, the crispy rice and the smoked trout dishes were standouts. At brunch, the avocado toast was amazing. Next time I'll try the hot oysters!

Could not wait to make this review. I decided to do something different this morning in Bishop and I've been wanting to visit Pillar for dinner for a long time. It was worth the change, Mike was very personable from the moment I walked in until the moment I walked out. The entire staff was friendly even those who were not serving my table. I was alone and wanted to try the entire menu , everyone expressed that the ricotta pancakes were worth it, and so I went with the pillar breakfast plate that Included one pancake and I demolished every bite. The breakfast sausage was nothing I ever tasted and I had to recommend to someone nearby. The flavor in everything I tasted including the espresso martini... yes the espresso martini was heavenly. I would like to return frequently, they played a lot of my favorite music while I enjoyed my food which made the experience even more worth it. If you ever get a chance please go for breakfast, lunch, or dinner or all 3.

The waiter was very friendly, but the service was just a little slow, it took a while for the food to arrive and our appetizer came out at the same time as our meal. The food is really good though! They have a decent HH too.

It's a nice quaint wine restaurant. All the staff is very friendly. Stokes was our server as was another person. They took great care of us; they informed us about portion sizes and checked in on my food allergies. The food was good. I got the breakfast platter. I should have asked for my eggs scrambled hard because I can't do juicy scrambled eggs. The house made sausage was deliciously smoky. The bacon was bacon. The potatoes were crispy perfection. It comes with a small arugula salad (I hate arugula). So I don't know what that tasted like. The ricotta pancake was ricotta filled, not just mixed in with the batter. I also had a peachy keen. It's basically a peach mimosa. My husband really enjoyed the croast. I'll go back and try dinner.

I hate to give 3 stars because the food and drinks are delicious!!!! The watermelon hamachi is incredible. The tomato salad is so fresh. All the presentations are beautiful. The fries served with kimchi mayo are addicting. You can definitely tell it is Mot Hai Ba's sister from the attention to detail and the flavors. However there are just a few things that lowered my experience. - the drink service is incredibly slow. Expect 10-15 min to get a cocktail - we specifically booked our dinner res during happy hour to take advantage of the happy hour menu. No where did we see it advertised that happy hour is only at the bar and patio, so we didn't get to participate. There's even fliers in the bathroom advertising it with no mention of the bar and patio. - there were SO MANY FLIES at our table. One even went in my barely sipped cocktail - we ordered the po boy and while it was delicious the amount of oysters is not enough. I took two bites and had eaten all the oysters in one half of the sandwich, still had so much bread left.

Stumbled upon this restaurant on a busy Saturday night. Peter was so fun and gave great suggestions. The grilled leeks were definitely the star of the show. Comparing mussel portions to other restaurants in the area, this was on the smaller end, but very flavorful broth. We also ordered the ricotta cavatelli, chile relleno, meat pies and the cornbread brioche. Definitely would recommend and I want to come back and try other dishes on the menu.

Met a friend for brunch here one Sunday. It wasn't too busy and the waitstaff was attentive. I had the nicoise salad which was delicious, even without the dressing. My friend had a Benedict and she enjoyed it. Only thing I would love to see are more gluten free options.

Hidden gem in Bishop Arts! Loved the food, service, and overall vibe. Our server, Jose, was amazing and gave some great recommendations. Cocktails were all on point--favorites were Beginning of the End (espresso martini) and Open Gate. For apps, we had tuna carpaccio, beef tartare, and onion rings--surprisingly loved the raw dishes! Mains were lamb tortelli, fried chicken with cornbread brioche and honey butter (so flavorful), and Brussel sprouts--a total crowd-pleaser. Jose recommended the lasagna (chef special), and it was incredible. We finished with the perfect chocolate cake and lemon meringue tarte. Cake was moist, rich, not too sweet and tart was a perfect balance of bright, tangy citrus and sweet. Can't wait to go back!

Visited Saturday Morning with friends- sadly they don't offer Brunch on Saturday mornings but there are a few items from the brunch menu. I got the biscuit and gravy- very tasty but the biscuits were a little hard sadly. But the staff and environment were both very nice! Overall enjoyed !

    Onion Rings-$14. Omg, that sauce!

Peter, aren't you dreamy! Alluring brown eyes, flawless olive skin, pleasing brown locks.....ok Mickey. That's enough. Get to the food..... What a wonder! Timeless wall decor; like stepping back in time a little- historical figures blessing the walls! Great conversation starters! Peter was perfect. Made stellar recommendations and even allowed me to try a sample of my cocktail before I ordered it! ***YELPERS BEWARE**** the prices you see on here are inaccurate. Add $1-$5 to each item, cocktails included! The onion rings have a tempura batter, funnel cake style if you will, that wasn't too thick. I honestly prefer the panko/flour method. They paired well with the sauce, similar to remoulade. The fried chicken was fried perfectly. It ain't Popeyes folks! I believe it was marinated in curry! This entree is enough food for 2. Don't get cute, solo eater. You WON'T finish it! I was concerned about the breast being dry....probably the juiciest breast I've ever had! The cornbread brioche wasn't my fave (not a fan or cornbread or brioche lol) Everything needed a little salt....probably why my cholesterol is high. I wish there were more of the greens! Tender, flavorful! I probably won't be back; born and raised here and have visited this area a total of 10 times, but if someone asks where they should eat in Bishop Arts, I'll say, "Check out Pillar!"

I recently dined at Stock & Barrel for Valentine's Day and was genuinely excited for the…read morereservation. However, the experience left little to be desired to ever return. Intimate conversation isn't possible due to the decor failing to absorb sound - very industrial. If you like fine dining, unique flavors, and good service, then don't dine at Stock & Barrel. I sure won't. This restaurant has more in common with Michelin Tires than Michelin Stars. My very first bite of "crispy" polenta was so hot it burned my mouth (and was obviously reheated in a microwave) and had zero flavor. It took about 20-30 minutes to get a drink. I ordered the batch valentines cocktail listed at the top of the menu. My server forgot to bring it with the other drink, so that took another 10 minutes. Before I discuss my food issues, I want to let everyone know that the Spicy Tuna Tartare Tostada was actually very good. I enjoyed it. I was so hungry - the prix fixe menu was very small for $115 per person. I was never offered the wine pairing, which I would have done going into the experience. I'm glad that I didn't because wine couldn't save the food. After the first bite I hate to report that the rest of the food was also bland, burnt, and disgusting. My crispy duck confit was SCORCHED. The duck was dry. The kumquat sauce was the only flavor on the main course. The quinoa risotto was dry and flavorless. Very disappointing and underwhelming. Next, I was praying this bread pudding situation was going to leave my experience on a good note. Nope. They sliced a French bread baguette, burnt it, scooped melted ice cream on top and random unmelted chocolate chips. That's embarrassing. Not only is this not bread pudding...it's not fine dining. It was gross. Zero out of 5 stars. Do not eat here!

Often times after it's all said & done, you wonder - was that worth it? Thankfully, that is NOT the experience I had at Haywire! I ate here on August 9th, 2025 and enjoyed everything about it. I was with a large party but would love to return for a more intimate experience. On this Saturday, my younger cousin was graduating from Parker University so I was in town for the weekend. At around 1pm, I was one of the first to arrive at the restaurant. Unfortunately the parking is a bit confusing. There was construction being done on the same street when I went but there's a parking garage for customers that's difficult to navigate AND the elevator that connects wasn't operating at the time which was an issue for many (but not me, I got a good spot & walked). My party hadn't all arrived yet so I took a gander. Upon entering the tall doors, the space breathes southwestern elegance: wooden structure, leather seating, separate dining areas with highlighted ranch-style art. The abundance of space gives it an open-concept feel. The lighting fixtures are modern, the space was dim but not too low, with an option to utilize the large windows also. I was quiet impressed at the overall presentation. When my party did arrive, I wanted to keep it simple so I ordered the Chicken Cobb Salad and a Hibiscus Haze with Vodka. The table shmoozed as we ate some of the appetizers: the Crab Dip & Green Tomatoes, both amazing. The food did take some time but, considering it was 10-12 of us, that's expected. The Hibiscus Haze was splendid: smooth & flavorful, a great concoction. Cobb salads are usually pretty thick but this one was HEARTY. It came in a large bowl stuffed with the all the toppings. The dressing it was tossed with was well balanced but could've used a tad bit more. With some pepper & a little ranch, I was set! I defeated the salad but it also left me stuffed to the gills. Satisfying meal that I would order again! There are tons of restaurants to dine at in Dallas & sometimes you never know which is worth your time. Despite the inconvenience of parking, I'd bet my bottom dollar that this is a good place to eat. Whether you want a fine dining experience, it's a special occasion or just want a good drink with a meal, Haywire has enough to satisfy all interests.

We were asked to wait. Waited maybe 5-10mins. No biggie, A lot of open tables were available for immediate sit down. Again that wasn't a big deal. I had asked for a booth & wanted to sit in front room. The hostess said no a problem. She handed us off to a younger hostess and she took us to a table. I told her I had requested a booth. In the front room only 3 tables were occupied. I pointed out the booth and she said that's for party of 6. However, we could have the 1/2 table/booth. Made absolutely no sense because that was for a party of 6 as well. I made this comment & she just stared at me without saying a word. I didn't want to seem difficult and took the table as she just walked away. Kev was confused as we were. No good communication skills. It was an awkward encounter. The restaurant wasn't busy at all & never was whole time there. Kev wasn't sure why she didn't move us a requested & was puzzled himself. However i apologized to him & explained I wasn't trying to be difficult, but prefer booth sitting and most times we will wait for one. We left at 1:45p and restaurant was no busier than when we arrived. Reservation/Booth or not! I guess saying all of this, your front staff need to have more people skills when dealing with your customers. They are the face and first point of contact.
