We shared a 3 piece cod and chips and a large chowder. It's nice they give a senior discount when you are over 60 (yikes!). The service was quick and friendly and we got our food quickly. The fish is cooked up perfectly with a golden crust and was delicious. They serve it with their house tartar sauce and a very small side of coleslaw. The chowder was very hearty and tasty as well. Everything here was good and, even though seating inside is limited, they had a few outdoor tables which helped. We at outside and another group joined us and we made friends with them. Bonus. Give this small business a try next time you're in Rainier Valley. I'll definitely come back again.

It definitely made to order and I appreciated that it wasn't over battered. The coleslaw was light without too much mayo - I wish we had been able to eat more! Pricing was $19 for 5 pieces of cod, with higher prices for salmon and halibut. I asked the woman behind the counter if she thought our order would be enough for our family, and she snapped back "How am I supposed to know how much your family eats??" Her daughter was a pleasure though, and cleared space for us to eat at, offered lemons, and brought our food directly to us.

All the…read moreoutdoor tables were full when we arrived at 6, so we put our name on the list for inside and waited about 30 minutes. The oysters were the main draw for me, and they were totally worth the visit. Old Stove serves them with a savory watermelon sauce in addition to a traditional cocktail sauce--eaten together, it's a flavor explosion that I can't quite describe. We also enjoyed the garlic everything fries, which were delicious! We just had to try a flight to sample the brews. There are some really good beers available here, especially the Belgian blonde, citra pale ale, and the stout. I did not really care for the seasonal sour (grapefruit, I think)--to me, it just tasted like a sour and nothing more, but someone with more interest in sour beers would probably enjoy it just fine. Despite the busy night, our server checked on us regularly and was very personable, stopping to chat with us about the local sports scene. There's plenty to look at, inside and out. If you can snag a seat outside, you'll get to enjoy the waterfront. Inside, the decor is industrial but fun. Not sure if this runs all the time, but when we were there, the tvs were playing vintage beer ads, which was quite fun. They also sell some pretty good t-shirt designs. Overall, Old Stove Brewing is the perfect combo of good location, good food, and good beer. Definitely recommend a visit when in the Pike Place area!

Outside seating is first come first serve and inside seating you have to see a hostess. We started outside and saw someone leaving and circle them like vultures. We got lucky, it was 4th of July weekend, so it was busy! We ordered pizza for the table and for my toddler. It was really good! He loves the pepperoni. My order was the salmon burger. They used a good slab of coho, nicely seasoned with a aioli. The fries were crunchy and nice. I shared with my husband and it was just right, since we had a bunch of apps at the market. We also got a round of beers. Or in my case I got their hard seltzer, which wasn't too bad, I would probably just get a light beer next time. Service was great outside! Also you get the nice breeze, they also had heaters on top. Picnic style tables and quick service!

I ended up going with the fish and chips which comes with 2 fish and fries and a choice of dipping sauce. If not considering the event itself, then this place is just the storefront with their kitchen in the back, and their interior is essentially all the seating inside the Armory itself. They're conveniently sandwiched between The Little Chicken Teriyaki and Big Mike's Sandwich Co., not too far from the doors leading to the restrooms. They serve seafood baskets, fish and chips, poutines and samplers on their menu, and you place your order on a kiosk at the front. Staff were ready to answer questions, and had a lot of good energy when serving orders to me and their other customers. I split with two others in my group the sampler, which consists of two pieces each of fried cod, oyster and shrimp, all on top of a bed of French fries. The tempura batter for all three came apart a little too easily, though it was even more so with the fried cod, as it was hard to use a spoon and fork to scoop up the easily broken pieces. Shrimp and oyster were both really good and not too salty on their own. French fries were also really filling, and were very fresh - they were on the verge of being too salty. Overall portion was relatively big and all three of us got full from splitting this.

Expect fish & chips (with tax & tip) to run you about $20 in 2026, maybe a tad more. -The fish is SO GOOD, sometimes I just get 2 pieces with no sides -apart from tartar sauce, which is about $10. Umm, the breading has such crunch!! And the fish is moist... simply delicious!!! There's tables inside and out. Usually a breeze off the water in summer makes it comfortable. Plenty of parking, big lot. The staff is always welcoming & friendly. - Also, if it's "to go", they pack it very carefully. I do really WISH they stayed open later! Nine months of the year they close at 6:00, in summer it's 7:00. (8:00 would be way better; there's been many times I've wanted to go but it was too late.) But still... HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

They have two kinds of cod. I always forget the name of the cod I like but I know it's the more expensive one. Delicious! I particularly like that you can order extra pieces of fish and also add pieces of shrimp without having to order a whole meal. We don't want all those fries, as tasty as they are. You order at the counter and wait for them to call your name. There's usually a line. Prices are not cheap, but won't break the bank. My highest rating is not the number of stars I give. It's whether I will return for another meal. Can't eat fried food often but definitely will be back.
