Sound View Cafe is one of my go-to places to eat in the Pike market. They have good chowder and a salad bar. The seating is tight, but if you're lucky you can get a window seat with a cool view of the water and the Farris wheel. The staff are friendly, and the food has been quickly served each time I've eaten here. It's kind of pricey, but it's expected in the market. I'd suggest getting a cup of chowder and a salad bar plate - pile up the vegetables on the salad bar to get your money's worth. read more

Honestly, to me, its a divey little cafe. However, the view is great if you are able to get a table by a window. The food is very basic. It's decent, but overly priced. Had a basic sandwich with chips and a dr pepper and it was over $20. The clam chowder is good! The place is quite warm too. Fortunately, if you're by a window there are shades you can pull down to block most of the sun! Seating is pretty cramped as well. It's a really busy restaurant since it's located right in the Public Market. The line was long, but that's expected for a weekend. Finding a seat was a bit tricky, and since there's no table service you have to order at the counter and then grab a seat. The issue we noticed was that some couples would split up with one person ordering and the other saving a table, even though the staff tried to prevent it. It's a bit frustrating to see some people not following the rules while others do. Luckily, we met a nice couple from the UK who had already found a spot and invited us to sit with them. The restaurant was packed, but the view was amazing with several seats right by the water. The food was pretty good and the service was decent. Overall, it was a nice experience but a little too chaotic for our taste. Maybe we'll give it another try next time we're in town. read more

Line was too long at Ludi's and Biscuit Bitch was a let down, so decided to come here. Figured it'd be a tourist trap at Pike Place Market, but was pleasantly surprised. Tasty 3-egg breakfast with potatoes, turkey sausage, and sourdough toast. Not usually a fan of turkey products, but this sausage had great flavor. Potatoes were on point and the sourdough toast was almost worth the price-tag alone. The latte was top notch; rich, creamy, flavorful. Honestly I thought the food here was great. We spent our last morning in Seattle exploring Pikes Place Market early before the crowds and got here right as they opened. Service was quick and they have high chairs for small kiddos. You order up at the counter, have a seat and they bring everything out. One great thing about this spot is it has a nice view of the bay to enjoy while you eat. Food wise, we really enjoy everything we ordered. I had been wanting to check out this spot for years. We were finally kid free and decided to stop by. My pancake and fruit was very delicious. My husband enjoyed his Clam chowder bread bowl. The view was prefect, it wasn't to busy at all. It was on a Sunday around 10am. The customer service was really Great too. I definitely want to go back and try maybe a lunch or dinner item. Unfortunately, the coffee was terrible to me. She did remake it but I ended up giving it to my husband. It was a vanilla latte, and the self serve coffee was not hot. My husband didn't mind the coffee. I am big on coffee, I go different places just to try their coffee. It's just unfortunate, hopefully they change it. I feel like it's an easy fix to change whatever recipe they are using because I did not like the latte or the self serve at all. That kinda ruined my breakfast for me. I went on a relatively clear day, so the view was outstanding. The food was great. My sandwich had a homemade feel on sliced wheat bread, but the quality of the turkey? Not what I'm buying at a grocery store. It was thick slices of turkey breast, where you can see it's not processed into oblivion. It was a hearty sandwich served with kettle potato chips and a pickle spear. The price is on par with the area; you're paying a premium for the view but the food is quality lunch fare. Burgers, sandwiches, etc. It reminded me of some of the long running family restaurants with quality ingredients made perfectly with no frills. A fantastic meal for the right price. read more

Bad from start to finish. When we ordered she charged us for 2 sodas even though one person just wanted water. I said fine. No big deal. Then waited 40 min for our breakfast. We weren't in a hurry. Fine, not the end of the world. But when our food showed up cold and not even the way we ordered it. Eggs over well. (Means no soggy eggs. Fully cooked). Again not the end of the world. We hadn't planned our trip to Pike Place very well and were ravenously hungry at 2:30 on a Tuesday afternoon. We ended up at this restaurant mostly out of desperation. The views are, in fact, sound. There is no outdoor seating. This is a fast casual style restaurant where you place your order and pay at the counter, then the food is brought out to your table. I had the clam chowder in a bread bowl and my bf had the salmon sandwich. The bread for the soup was a bit dry. The soup itself wasn't brimming with clams but it had a nice flavor and homemade taste. My bf really enjoyed the simplicity of the sandwich and said the salmon was cooked perfectly. I decided to try this place out based on a 1 star review. The yelper from Frisco Tx said the server told them to "have a shitty day", which tells me they most likely deserved it. They even posted a photo of the staff. How rude is that? That same staff member helped us, and they were super nice to us. People that are rude to service industry workers should not go out in public and just make their own food. I took some folks from out of state there, we all had a solid breakfast, and a great time. The view of the Olympic Mountains was stellar as well. I will definitely be back, and recommend to others. read more
