I used to really enjoy eating Pick Up Stix and would get excited when my parents would bring home the red containers of food. This chain overall has gone downhill. I recently ordered the white meat house special chicken and drunken noodles. The house special chicken was dry and thick in some pieces and just overall did not appear well cooked. Several pieces felt like dark meat too. They also serve it in a plastic plate now which seems to contain a smaller quantity than before. I did not like the flavor as much as I used to. The drunken noodles were undercooked in several of them leaving a raw and rubbery taste, and while the chicken here was actually white meat, it was tougher to eat and didn't taste too great. I was disappointed with each dish overall after having a craving for something I really used to enjoy. On top of that, they used to freely give the packets of crunchy noodles, which you now have to ask for. I asked for some packets and the guy handed me one. I asked for a few more since I was getting food for my family and he handed me just one more. Quite stingy and the packets are also barely filled. They used to be a lot more filled up and now there's hardly any anyways. Not to mention they were just on the verge of being stale. Not at all like how they used to be. So all 3 components of the meal were a miss and not something I enjoyed or want to pay money for again. Guess this is the end of me being a Pick Up Stix customer after so long. read more

I asked about the Thai Curry and was drawn in by the comment, "are you okay with hot?" The answer is yes, oh and include hot mustard. Unfortunately it was flat on all levels. No sense of a good Thai curry taste & the hot mustard? This is a dressing that should start at your sinuses and move to your palette...none of that. Very bummed. Placed order online for pickup. Checked off the additional sauces that I wanted added (at no extra charge). I went in with a few friends that placed their order online. One person wanted to get an appetizer and decided to order on arrival. Their credit card machine was down so she couldn't order. Inside is set up like a y other fast food restaurant. When I got back and looked in bag the additional sauces were not added. It looks like they do get busy so order handling is not that efficient. Good and portion size was pretty good. Well, this was the first time that I have visited a Pick Up Stix. My first impressions, were not great as we saw the cook take back our order slip 8 minutes after we had ordered. We then waited about another 15 min to get our food. Now, I am a fan of Thai food, and these Drunken Noodles were lacking a ton of flavor. However, I did taste my friend's Grilled Bourbon Chicken which on the contrary had a ton of flavor. For as slow as this place was and us being the only dine-in customers, our food did take a long time. For as long as it took, we expected a lot of flavor but oh well. I work in the offices right by here and never thought to try this place. But I finally decided to give it a try today! It was amazing! We got the house chicken and steak with chow mein and white rice. Both were delicious and made to order so it was very hot and fresh. The chow mein was amazing and not chewy at all! One star is an understatement. Julietta or however you spell that morons name, is not just the worst employee I have ever had the unfortunate privilege to work with, but she is a horrible person as well. I placed a doordash order and they gave the order to the wrong person. I called because the dasher was waiting for around 15 minutes at this point. Julietta picked up the phone and I asked what was going on with the order they gave to the wrong person. She laughed and asked if I still wanted it and if they should make it again. I was taken back and asked "You haven't even started making it?" And she laughed at me again and I told her "Don't laugh at me, it's not funny." She then played stupid and said she didn't know what happened to the order and went on this tangent about things she doesn't know, I told her to shut up and she laughed again. I asked if she was the manager and she said no, I asked to speak to one and she laughed at me hard and hung up. So I drove up there. I saw Julietta and I said "We talked on the phone and I asked to speak to a manager and you laughed at me and hung up." She started to raise her voice at me so I did as well. She was talking a mile a minute and I finally yelled and told her to shut the F up. I started cursing now and she cursed at me too. We had an argument and I said I wanted the food refunded and her behavior is not ok, probably in some much stronger vocabulary. I don't care at this point, she drove me to this point. She proceeded to tell me she doesn't care about her job or anything and I can just throw the food away and that she spit in it. I wanted so badly to throw the food at her. Pick Up Stix has been ok in the past but I stopped into this one in the shopping center on Harvard in Irvine. First, there was only one guy taking orders, cooking the food and packing orders. Didn't help that the guy in front of me ordered multiple dishes do I had to wait for my food. We ordered the Kung Pao Chicken and the Thai Curry Chicken with a pair of spring rolls. Kung Pao Chicken came out a bit vinegary tasting. My Thai Curry Chicken was ok but a lot of peppers and onions and not much chicken breast meat. But even the chicken was tough to eat. Spring rolls were very mushy inside and the dipping sauce was thin and weak. Overall, for $32, not that appetizing. Think I'll skip this place in the future. read more
