This is a chain Mexican fast food place with a emphasis on fish. I liked it very much. I had the outer reef burrito with blacked fish. There was a good amount of fish and it was very tasty. My friend had fish tacos and also thought it was good. The salsa bar is not huge but it has the basics. I have a son with some food allergies so I very much appreciated the menu with a comprehensive list of allergens. Huge plus -- that's why I upped my rating to 5 stars. Great job! I went to Wahoo's Fish Taco in Irvine and paid for my order with a credit card. On the payment terminal, it only showed a total amount with a "yes" or "no" option--there was no indication that a tip was included or being added. I selected "yes," assuming I was simply approving the charge. When I received my receipt, I saw that the total included a 10% tip. The tip was automatically included in the displayed price without any notification or approval. That is so sketchy. I definitely won't be going back. read more

There's never been a time where wahoos hasn't hit. I have been going my whole life and every time it's just so so good!! My go to is a bonzai bowl with chicken and let me tell you. It's so good, fresh, veggies are amazing, overall just such a good meal. I love the teriyaki sauce too. The Cajun seasoned fries are classic. They are one of my favourite fries ever and I get them every single time I make a trip to Wahoo. Overall another great experience yet again and would highly recommend wahoo as a quick casual lunch or dinner spot. Wahoos is one of my family's favorite places to eat. Since moving out of CA we make sure to eat it whenever we visit. The service is always super friendly and fast. The food is fresh, tasty and relatively healthy. And the prices are super reasonable. Our kids got kids taco plate and a bowl. This is my go to wahoos. Used to work at Mothers Market and would come here for my lunch breaks. I would always order the wet style citrus slaw burrito with shrimp. I Was feeling hungry today and ordered it extra shrimp and have not been here in some years. The total was $21.55 including the drink. When I got my order I was fine until I opened up the burrito to see I've been given less shrimp whereas if I just ordered the shrimp enchiladas with green sauce... (which I ordered recently and had no issues with) So I feel like as a customer I was kinda robbed when I used to be a regular back in the day and always loved my order and quality of the food. But I coughed up like an hours worth of pay to be completely and utterly disappointed. My hope is to get a refund and maybe next time just order the enchiladas because this is ridiculous and I can count on my single hand how many shrimps were actually in this large burrito.... Sadly, the Wahoo's open in the Bay Area where I'm based have closed down so I need to be in SoCal for my fix. I headed out to this Wahoo's straight from John Wayne Airport to get my fix and because I wanted to use an American Express offer to get a rebate. Long story short, I enjoy Wahoo's Fish Tacos and this place meets all the benchmarks. I give it only three stars instead of four or five mainly because of the parking situation. Parking in this shopping complex is such a mess they have to have people directing traffic. If you're lucky enough to find parking in a decent amount of time, there's lots of options in this complex, and Wahoo's is a good one. I'm also only giving three stars because the day I went, I ordered a Maui Onion Ring burrito, which had all these delicious things in it, as described on the menu on the wall. But when I ordered, the cashier asked me if I wanted "extras" such as sour cream and guac and such in my burrito. Per the menu these things were standard. But I heard "extra" and thought I would be charged extra. So I told her no, I don't want any of that. The miscommunication was unfortunate. This Wahoo's is an oasis of chill in what might be an otherwise stuffy shopping center. If you've been to one, you know the vibe. If not, it's a surf/skate menagerie of posters and stickers with an authentic vibe. I moved away and was so glad to be able to grab my fave fish taco plate during a return visit to the OC. White spicy beans are as good as I remember them. The onion rings, too: beer battered, hot and just the right amount of crisp outside, and soft inside. I came back the next day to catch a football game on the TV and had the crispy spicy fish sandwich, which was also great. I originally got worried when I saw it was a couple of fish sticks in a bun, but the kale coleslaw and spicy sauce balanced the textures and flavors perfectly, it was great.
