The service I received was good, the location is good and the restaurant is clean and welcoming, however the cooks really need to learn how to do things correctly. We placed an order for the Tri tip and chicken, Caesar salad with salmon, avocado and the carrot cake. The chicken was raw, the Tri tip was tough to chew on and the meat and poultry portions were very small for the price we paid. Plus they charged a lot for the small slice of avocado for our salad. I know other places that offer you a big meal for a large price but at least they give you portions that make it worthwhile. My recommendation is to look elsewhere for good quality Tri tip that isn't tough on your teeth and chicken that is actually cooked. The cooking staff really needs to learn how to cook and to serve more generous portions and the restaurant needs to charge less for those small portions. read more

For $13, I got a personal sized pesto pasta with a breadstick (which I was going to order anyway and I think the personal size is upwards of $14 if I am not mistaken). What made it worse was that I was then asked to wait while my actual dinner sat and got cold. Last night Wednesday, March 11 6:00pm my husband and I took our 15 guests for dinner at this restaurant. They included my grandson and his wife visiting from Oregon. The young lady who took our order was incredibly helpful to suggest and helped us with our order from the menu for our large group. During our mealtime and conversation a woman with a boy of about 9 years old approached our table and asked for money! My son in law told her he would buy them a meal but she refused and said she was asking money to shop at Target. My son in law told her " well then no I will not give you money. ". Just then the restaurant's captain approached and asked her to leave the restaurant and not to return! She was firm and the woman left. I've only ever gotten pickup from this place and while it might be a little pricey for some, it's almost always worth it. The ingredients are quality and portions are unmatched (they fill the personal pasta container TO THE BRIM), the garlic mash is incredible, and oh my god the carrot cake is heavenly and a single slice is enormous. Occasionally it can be a little inconsistent. For example, sometimes the added chicken is kind of shredded and it doesn't seem like you get a lot, but then other times you get big square chunks...or they might go light on the pesto sauce but then most other times there's tons of pesto pooled at the bottom (which I love)...all that said, I've never been unhappy with an order. They've never messed up an order, it's always prepared by the quoted time, and someone is assisting you pretty much right when you walk in. I've never had to wait. I'm here for a mobile order pick up! This early 20s boy was at the COOK'S TABLE COUNTER grabbing plates of food just prepared, he obviously was "TOO BUSY" to be bothered, then the other kids were literally just CHIT CHATTING & JOKING FOOLING EFFING AROUND yet still NO ONE absolutely NO ONE came until after 5 min of waiting!! That's definitely the most ridiculous "service" we've ever received! If I could, I would've given a -10 stars!! Doesn't the general manager/restaurant OWNER NOT train these kids professionally nor proficiently that they lacked the fundamental social skills to help & greet takeout order customers?! I've loved Stone Fire Grill since I lived in Valencia. Five years ago moved to Orange and was excited there was a restaurant just down Jamboree. Sadly, either the quality of the restaurant chain has deteriorated or the local restaurant is just that bad. I've noticed smaller portions the last few years and prices increasing. BUT does the quality need to suffer as well? I used to be able to count on a small salad to feed me and my wife, now the medium salad barely does. And the last few visits, the meat in the salad is almost invisible. Today's Tri tip was all chewy. My wife never wants to go back. We had SFG cater our son's wedding rehearsal dinner because we love the food so much, and we had no issues. But in house and to-go quite plainly, sucks. Not sure we will go back. Sure would love a refund. And it seems as if even the breadsticks have changed. Really sad. read more

The most decent deal you can find in Irvine and the best customer services ever. There was one time miss from an online order and the pizza was also not fully baked to meet the standard. We had reported the food quality issue from filling out a survey. The manager James texted back quickly to find out what's the issue and offered $10 coupon for thanking our opinion.
