I've loved Stone Fire Grill since I lived in Valencia. Five years ago moved to Orange and was excited there was a restaurant just down Jamboree. Sadly, either the quality of the restaurant chain has deteriorated or the local restaurant is just that bad. I've noticed smaller portions the last few years and prices increasing. BUT does the quality need to suffer as well? I used to be able to count on a small salad to feed me and my wife, now the medium salad barely does. And the last few visits, the meat in the salad is almost invisible. Today's Tri tip was all chewy. My wife never wants to go back. We had SFG cater our son's wedding rehearsal dinner because we love the food so much, and we had no issues. But in house and to-go quite plainly, sucks. Not sure we will go back. Sure would love a refund. And it seems as if even the breadsticks have changed. Really sad. read more

I really don't understand why these kids in their late teens & or early twenties(POST 2000 kids) who work here ALWAYS TEND TO IGNORE CUSTOMERS AT THE TAKE OUT QUEUE/COUNTER! It just happened the other day when I tried to pick up for a mobile order, I waited patiently for nearly 5 min, & no one, NOT EVEN THE SUPPOSED "MANAGER" even greeted us! It's as if we, the mobile order "ghosts" don't exist & they ignore you naturally! The worst part?! There literally were 6-8 of these workers yet NONE OF THEM even greeted us even after I said HELLO! I'm here for a mobile order pick up! This early 20s boy was at the COOK'S TABLE COUNTER grabbing plates of food just prepared, he obviously was "TOO BUSY" to be bothered, then the other kids were literally just CHIT CHATTING & JOKING FOOLING EFFING AROUND yet still NO ONE absolutely NO ONE came until after 5 min of waiting!! That's definitely the most ridiculous "service" we've ever received! If I could, I would've given a -10 stars!! Doesn't the general manager/restaurant OWNER NOT train these kids professionally nor proficiently that they lacked the fundamental social skills to help & greet takeout order customers?! They're known for their family-style American meals. The Stimulus Package was what I'd always get in the past, such a good deal and value. Perfect for a family of 4, or 2 with leftovers for the next day. What I've tried: Stimulus Package (Half Pepper Garlic & BBQ Tri Tip, 8 Breadsticks, Pesto Pasta, Caesar Salad) $41.99 | Full Slab Baby Back Ribs (2) $68.58 | Garlic Mashed Potatoes Family $12.99. The Mashed Potatoes are my favorite. Tri Tip is nice and tender, the Pesto Pasta is al dente, savory, nutty and creamy, the Caesar Salad is refreshing. Since we needed to feed 10 people on Father's Day, we also ordered Ribs and Mashed Potatoes. The Ribs were decent, tender but not the best seasoned. Not the best I've had, good for a crowd but not sure if I'd get again. However, YOU MUST GET THE MASHED POTATOES, they've always been some of the best in the game. They're creamy, buttery and cheesy. Also, since they're not completely mashed, they have chunks of potato in them, which make them unique and I love that. Even for 10 people, this is a lot of food, we definitely had leftovers. I hope they consider eco-friendly initiatives in the future, as I didn't spot any specific sustainability practices or see any mention of them on their website. They're located in a big shopping plaza with plenty of free parking in their lot. I didn't pick up the food so I can't comment on the service but it is usually good. The interior is a blend of casual, warm, modern and rustic with wooden tables and chairs. There's plenty of inside and outside seating. This is a fast-casual spot where you order at the counter, seat yourself and the food is brought to you. Most recently, I ordered ahead for pick up on Father's Day, a Sunday, around 2:45 PM so there was no wait. For the quality and quantity, I think the price is fair. read more

Skip this place! The food quality is poor and just not good which was disappointing because we liked Stonefire so not sure if it's this location or the food has gone down. We got the tri tip with sides of mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese. The cashier asked us what sauce we wanted between a bbq or garlic. We asked for the bbq one but then got no sauce but that sauce was where the condiments are which was so confusing. The tri tip itself was NOT good. So dry. The mashed potatoes were so disappointing! They were day and the cheese was dry as if they gave us an old batch. The Mac and cheese was okay. The breadsticks were meh. Save your money and go somewhere else. read more

We've also used Stonefire in the past for small parties and it's always a hit. We are long time patrons of StoneFire. We have been going to the Irvine location since it opened. We eat there often. We have also used their catering services for our parties and for large events. Their food is always freshly made, perfectly prepared and delicious. Quantities are large, pricing is affordable, and the variety provided in their menu makes StoneFire the perfect choice to insure that everyone is able to find something they are happy with. Service bring back the original staff. Today's staff is only focused on being on their phones and playing competing streaming phone music with the restaurant. Food had the Caesar salad and dressing has dramatically changed from their signature flavor. Also lettuce was BROWN! Breadsticks is also ever changing. Tastes like pastry dough. I'm still trying to process our visit to The Stone Fire Grill. The cashier greeted us warmly, and the manager was super nice especially after things took a turn for the worse. But let's get to the burning questions (pun intended): How do you burn chili?! and don't even get me started on the cornbread it was like they tried to create a new culinary genre: Charcoal Bread. But the pièce de résistance was when I overheard employees discussing customers while I was, ahem, taking care of business in the restroom. One of them even joked about, ahem, "contributing" to a customer's meal. I'm no expert, but I'm pretty sure that's not exactly what you'd call "customer service." Within 10 minutes or so, a team member delivers your food. I'd call it a quick service restaurant, better than fast food but a very informal feel. We went there for Mother's Day and they ordered pork pulled sandwich and i ordered a pizza. The pizza was mediocre. It's like they didn't put enough sauce on it and it was un even. The sandwich they said the sauce was over kill. Mom's got a salad. The first girl dropped off her food and she asked her a question and she walked off apparently not paying attention. She then asked the same girl for ranch dressing and balsamic salad dressing. Never got it. She asked a 2nd person a boy and he never came back. He randomly asked us if we were order #. I stopped by Stonefire Grill yesterday to pick up my to go order for my cousin party. This Stonefire grill location is closer to her place so I chose this location for the pickup. The found the place alright and finding parking was easy because it's in a big plaza. There a separate entrance for take out so I went through there. I was the only one there for pickup so I just give them my name and they give me my order. I checked that everything I ordered was in the bag before leaving. I got the stimulus package so half Tri tip, Caesars salad, bread stick and Hawaiian pizza. I also got another bag of bread stick because it's popular. People at the party enjoyed the tri tip, that was the first item gone and then it was the salad and pizza. I enjoyed the tri tip with the BBQ sauce. I also asked that they slice it thin. I talked to the Stonefire Grill Customer Service team and they were great. I did go back and try more of their food items. I ordered Stonefire's BBQ Chopped salad with chicken, Pesto pasta, and Tri-tip & Baby Back Ribs. Let me start off by saying the Baby Back Ribs and Tri-tip were amazing. The Baby Back Ribs were very flavorful with the barbeque and as you eat, the meat would just slide off the bones! (definitely my favorite dish) The Pesto Pasta was also very good! They added so much creamy pesto sauce that it was so creamy and delicious. The Stonefires BBQ Chopped salad was good too, it just was a normal salad. The food here was really good I went with my family they got a meal that feeds about six people it came with a pizza BBQ chicken Mac and cheese bread sticks , salad I really enjoyed everything all the food was fresh and tasted great really good flavor I also tried the carrot cake it was good too I suggest that if you want dessert. Everything here is amazing even the service because they're all friendly. The place is huge and they even have a patio where you can also spend time eating. I have yet to dine at this location, but they do seem to have spacious seating inside and outside the restaurant. The mobile ordering is very easy and the food selection is great. We really enjoy the convenience of ordering a variety of items that seem relatively healthy, such as a salad, a pasta with protein, and fresh pizza (granted the last two may not be all that healthy). The south of the border salad has been our go to salad, because you can choose tri tip as a meat option. The pesto pasta with chicken as an add on has also been a tasty choice, and the pizza is more of an individual size and kind of like an appetizer to the combo meal. The associates have been extremely friendly and quick to help when we have entered the store. The to go containers are sturdy and packed well, and they always include utensils for our convenience. Parking is pretty located in the plaza with target and LA fitness. My coworkers and I came around noon for a weekday lunch, was around 30% full. I got the tri tip sandwich with side of cole slaw ($14). Cashier gives you a beeper and food will be brought out when made. The portion here is pretty big, was only able to finish half the sandwich. The tri tip was fresh and went super well with the arugula and pickles. The cole slaw was amazing! Not the traditional mayo sauce but a light Italian dressing with peanuts and cabbage~ could eat bowls of those.
