went here today. Apparently "their system is down", noted on a sign posted on the entrance door. I entered, and was met by a completely hysterical woman who said, "Don't you see on the door that the system is down?". I replied, "yes, but do you take cash?". she repeated again that their system is down, while all of the cooks are just standing there like meerkats looking at me. The following review is from the second of two pick-up catering orders my company has placed over the past 4 months. a) Placing the order online is easy. The biggest challenge is choosing the most popular options among our group! The only difficulty I didn't was was expanding the details or follow-up questions. For example, I didn't know I could ask for the pork ribs to be cut. b) The value for the amount of delicious food and the variety of food that we provide our guests in a buffet. The Mega Feast serves 12 adults: two whole chickens, one whole tri tip, one full rack of baby back pork ribs, my choice of pasta (I chose pesto), my choice of side (roasted vegetables), either garden or caesar salad, and 24 freshly baked breadsticks. (I guess we have some light-eaters because we had leftovers. We probably could have fed 15 adults.) We ordered multiple Mega Feasts. All the meats are seasoned well and tender; the meat easily comes off the bone. Pasta was al dente, (pine) nutty and creamy -- not soggy after we had an ice-breaker before eating. So thankful online ordering allows me to request the dressing tossed in the salad. c) Customer service is excellent. Technology can easily send a confirmation after I place the order. However, a SG employee called me an hour before the pick-up time to confirm if I'd like utensils and serving utensils as well as plates with the order. I didn't specify on the order. So thorough and helpful. The kitchen team labels the pans, pasta, sides, etc. So helpful to confirm that my order has been fulfilled. Also eases the buffet arrangement, starting with salad :) and ending with protein and sauces. When I arrived, a pick-up counter employee welcomed me and asked if I needed help. He confirmed that my order was being completed. Then a team of employees helped carry out the catering order to my car. They also worked together to ensure bags and trays wouldn't slide around the trunk. (The recent experience was consistent with the experience four months ago. Just as excellent and very polite service by SF team members.) d) Sustainability practices - when the employee called me, she asked if they could consolidate multiple orders into larger catering pans (trays) -- instead of using multiple smaller pans (trays). Yes, we used our empty smaller trays to package leftovers. We appreciate that SF doesn't use excessive amounts of plastic packaging. The company doesn't include utensils by default; I was asked (for comprehensive customer service) and I did want the utensils. The serving utensils (tongs and spoons) are a decent quality; we saved, washed and plan to reuse them. We'll be back in a few months for our next gathering! read more

I went for lunch today and the prices went up. I've had the tri tip lunch special endless times for 9.99. It went up $2.25 which isn't worth it for a small salad. I ended up getting the share tri tip salad which is now $19.99 but very overpriced for mostly a bowl of lettuce. The price point is too poor moving forward for me. read more

I walked in for lunch on a weekday to a sparse dining room and kitchen. I ordered the shareable size Alfresto which is half pesto and half alfredo pasta. I appreciate that they give some half and half options. I think that if they offered different pasta shapes it would make for some great combinations. The price was decent considering it was enough for two people. The wait was about 15 minutes or so which is a little longer than I thought it would be but I'll just chalk it up to having to make the pasta from scratch. The pesto is my favorite item though I can't admit it is a little bit oily. Still, the pesto is delicious. The alfredo was decent by itself and made better when I mixed it with the pesto. I have given this place time and time again to perform. Maybe a sit down is better than delivery, but their food arrives looking like a disheveled mess. Their meat is always charred, cold, and have to reheat. The coleslaw is different every time. One day it's full of peanuts and fresh. The next it's drowning in vinegar and looks old and tired. I usually order the pizza and caesar salad. The caesar salad is so delicious, the dressing is unique. It has an extremely garlicky taste, a little bit spicy from raw garlic. The taste is just wonderful in the caesar salad. I always save the caesar dressing as a dipping sauce. I even dip my pizza crust into the caesar sauce! The workers here are usually pretty nice.
