I understand why this place is always packed with a line out the door. My husband and I came for dinner tonight (Friday) around 6:30pm. Of course the line is out the door and the restaurant is packed, but it didn't take too long to order and find a seat. The food came out quickly. I was excited and ready to EAT. My favorites were the Ensenada style fish taco and the tacos de papa, but everything we ordered was amazing. The salsa bar was fully stocked and everything was fresh. The portions were generous. Flavors were perfect. Service was fast, super friendly, and warm. It was so busy but all the workers were locked in. Parking isn't an issue, but we walked there since it's by our house hehe When asked to describe his experience at Baja Fish Tacos tonight, my husband simply said, "Magnificent." The original Lake Forest location was may favorite lunch spot for the last 10 years. Was excited to learn they were opening one in Tustin Ranch. I finally had the chance to visit and ordered my go to dish, blackened fish burrito with green enchilada sauce on top. The taste was exactly like I remembered. Their salsa bar is consistently being restocked with fresh pico de gallo and is probably my favorite part about this spot. Other notable dishes are their original fish taco and fresh ceviche. I've been to their other location and so I knew this spot was a safe call for lunch. Their fish tacos are pretty good. I enjoy both the blackened and charbroiled. Muy Excellenté!!! Baja Fresh fish tacos is my favorite place to get the best tasting fish tacos in town today. I have been here many times to get gasoline at shell and just drop by for a quick bite and use the clean restroom inside. They are always busy here because everyone is nice and friendly with beautiful fresh fish cooked perfectly to order. A great place for lunch or dinner inside or on the sidewalk patio space. Gosh I love this place! Today I ordered the two taco combo plate - carne asada tacos and double rice for my side. Please note this was ordered through DoorDash so prices were a little higher $17.90 for the combo. First off their rice is my favorite rice; it's like a butter rice. I really love their steak, it's really good quality and they give so much of it on your taco (for $17 a plate it better be loaded...) The red salsa was smokier and spicier, while the green salsa was pretty ZESTYYYY, I preferred this one over the red, but both tasted great with the chips. I loved the pico as well, so yummy. This place always seems to have a line so we decided to try it out I ordered the blackened fish tacos and my friend had the chicken Taco platter along with chips with guacamole. The fish taco was excellent! The fish seemed very fresh and cooked perfectly -- juicy, a little flakey, and very flavorful. We were impressed upon receiving our regular menu items we've ordered many times at another location; the Chicken Tortilla Soup was chock full of meat and vegetables; and their Baja Bowl (with Blackened Fish) was generous in size, attractively & appreciatively topped with a nice layer of finely shredded lettuce! I have been telling all my friends about this place! Genuinely the best shrimp tacos I've EVER had and the Ensenada style fish tacos are the best I've had outside of Baja, Mexico. Super tasty and generous portions. The rice is incredible, as is the salsa bar. Generally my new go-to favorite The staff is super friendly and helpful and the restaurant has plenty of room for tables which are a reasonable distance away from each other. I have a hard time with noisy places and this place has never been too noisy even with a full house and a line to order. My dad is super picky about Mexican seafood and he is moving back to OC from out of state, and I can't wait to introduce him to this spot. I know he's going to LOVE it read more

The taco is plain by itself so you have to add lime and salsa for it to have any flavor. $5 for that taco alone is diabolical. In contrast, the plate had somewhat more depth and texture. Overall, the high price of their combo plate did not meet my expectations. I can go to Miguel's or a Mexican fast food chain with a coupon instead for half of the price we paid. We've been here several times now and the food is tasty and fresh. This last time we ordered a platter with fish and a platter with carne asada. The platters came with rice and beans (pinto or black) and a healthy scoop of guacamole. The fish was nice and firm ( one time they told me it was ono), not some cheap tilapia or swai often used by restaurants to sub white-fleshed fish. This was my first time at this Baja Fish on Jamboree. It was such a great experience and my family and I tried a variety of things. We had the delicious tacos de papa, enchilada de pollo, nachos, quesadilla and bowl. All of the plates were 10/10. You can go wrong with the flavors and portions. The line was out the door when I showed up -- always a good sign. I've been a fan of the Santa Ana locations for years, so I knew what I was walking into. This Tustin spot doesn't miss. I ordered three Ensenada-style tacos -- the only ones I ever go for. They're not huge, and they're not cheap, but the quality is there. The fish is hot and crisp, the cabbage fresh and crunchy, the white sauce adds a cool, creamy balance, and the tortillas have a soft chew that holds it all together without getting in the way. First taco -- plain. Straightforward and solid. Second -- hit it with heavy lime. Quick and in 3 clean bites. Third -- piled it on: cilantro dance party, pickled white onions from the salad bar, hot sauce, more lime. Messy in the best way. Expensive prices, low quality food, weak portion sizes and no flavor. We were excited when we saw this place was coming to our local plaza as this plaza was in need of some food variety. We came here on a weeknight and were excited to get a bunch of options. We ordered 4 different tacos and chips with salsa. Fried fish, shrimp, grilled fish and grilled chicken. The woman at the register who helped us was very nice and fast. She fit our orders quickly and we were lucky to find seats. Inside the restaurant was ok. Pretty typical OC ambiance and reminiscent of typical taqueria spot. The salsa and condiment bar was pretty small but it has the basics. Unfortunately from this point on, the experience was a complete letdown. When we received our food, it was really disappointing. Every single piece of fish we received was overcooked and therefore very dry. The portion size of the fish was very small and thin. The shrimp size and portion was also very small. The chicken was an ok size but it was extremely overcooked and therefore very very dry. The food gave the appearance of looking good but looks are often deceptive. We needed to drink so much water in order to eat our food bc the food was so overcooked and dry. The other unfortunate situation was that all of our food had little to no seasoning. None of the fish, shrimp or chicken had any flavor. Perhaps this establishment requires you to put your own salt and seasoning? It seemed as there was no salt on any of our food. As we looked around the restaurant, there were a number of other tables leaving with lots of uneaten food as well - perhaps bc the food was not enjoyable because it has no flavor. Perhaps this place still isn't fully up and running yet bc it's a new location.
