The food was too salty that it was bitter. I had to throw it away. At this location the chef doesn't know what is the right amount of salt. I liked the santa ana location better. The food tasted right there and is not overly salty. Wasted my money here. If you want to try baja fish tacos don't go to the tustin branch go to the santa ana branch. The chef at santa ana branch is much better and is a true professional cook. I have high blood pressure and too much salt is not good for me. I almost had a heart attack. read more

This restaurant is so clean and organized. It took them a long time to open their Tustin location, and it is so worth the wait. The food is incredible here. The salsas are all homemade and legendary. The original Lake Forest location was may favorite lunch spot for the last 10 years. Was excited to learn they were opening one in Tustin Ranch. I finally had the chance to visit and ordered my go to dish, blackened fish burrito with green enchilada sauce on top. The taste was exactly like I remembered. Their salsa bar is consistently being restocked with fresh pico de gallo and is probably my favorite part about this spot. Other notable dishes are their original fish taco and fresh ceviche. Already fans of Baja Fish Taco's menu, we've always returned to the same location, knowing that service and quality of food has been consistent. We decided to visit this location and so glad we did; great experience from the start! I like the bright-&-roomy atmosphere, ample and convenient parking, attractive and well-kept salsa bar, and wide-&-open counter at which one places their orders. We were impressed upon receiving our regular menu items we've ordered many times at another location; the Chicken Tortilla Soup was chock full of meat and vegetables; and their Baja Bowl (with Blackened Fish) was generous in size, attractively & appreciatively topped with a nice layer of finely shredded lettuce! Gosh I love this place! Today I ordered the two taco combo plate - carne asada tacos and double rice for my side. Please note this was ordered through DoorDash so prices were a little higher $17.90 for the combo. First off their rice is my favorite rice; it's like a butter rice. The carne asada tacos were FILLED of meat cheese and lettuce; I could barely close it! I understand why this place is always packed with a line out the door. My husband and I came for dinner tonight (Friday) around 6:30pm. Of course the line is out the door and the restaurant is packed, but it didn't take too long to order and find a seat. The food came out quickly. I was excited and ready to EAT. Everything was delicious, soooo flavorful, and FRESH. We got the 2 taco combo (shrimp taco, Ensenada style fish taco, black beans), one blackened fish taco, and an order of the tacos de papa. My favorites were the Ensenada style fish taco and the tacos de papa, but everything we ordered was amazing. The salsa bar was fully stocked and everything was fresh. The portions were generous. Flavors were perfect. Service was fast, super friendly, and warm. It was so busy but all the workers were locked in. Parking isn't an issue, but we walked there since it's by our house hehe When asked to describe his experience at Baja Fish Tacos tonight, my husband simply said, "Magnificent." Muy Excellenté!!! Baja Fresh fish tacos is my favorite place to get the best tasting fish tacos in town today. I have been here many times to get gasoline at shell and just drop by for a quick bite and use the clean restroom inside. They are always busy here because everyone is nice and friendly with beautiful fresh fish cooked perfectly to order. A great place for lunch or dinner inside or on the sidewalk patio space. I had a great experience and really need to come here more often! All I ordered was one street fish taco and it was all I needed! My family told me they load up each taco and they certainly did! Since the tacos come on 2 corn tortillas, I separated the tortillas and basically had 2 full fish tacos. That with the chips and guac we shared was plenty of food for me! I liked the self serve salad bar so we were never short of any salsa or toppings. It was a very hot day when we visited so I was very happy to see plenty of seating inside. For nicer days, there is also plenty of seating outside. It does seem to be a popular lunch spot so it does get crowdesd during peak times so prepare for that! This place always seems to have a line so we decided to try it out I ordered the blackened fish tacos and my friend had the chicken Taco platter along with chips with guacamole. The fish taco was excellent! The fish seemed very fresh and cooked perfectly -- juicy, a little flakey, and very flavorful. The blacken ingredients were strong but also did not totally mask the flavor of the fish. The cabbage was also very fresh and crisp. My friend said the chicken was also very good and well cooked. My wife ordered a carne asada burrito which is 17 dollars and there was hardly any meat. She had several bites where there was no meat at all. I ordered a blackened fish burrito which and again very little fish. For the price, I would expect a lot more protein. read more

(ALL their chips tasted fresh!) My friend got the carne asada tacos and I was very envious of that, so this time around, I got the blackened fish taco and the steak tacos. The steak tacos are #1 here. Cheese melted on two tortillas, LOTS OF meat seasoned and charred, some chopped lettuce and their house pico. So simple, done to perfection. I really love their steak, it's really good quality and they give so much of it on your taco (for $17 a plate it better be loaded...) The blackened fish taco was also grilled and seasoned extremely well, underneath a bed of chopped cabbage, everything was fresh. The red salsa was smokier and spicier, while the green salsa was pretty ZESTYYYY, I preferred this one over the red, but both tasted great with the chips. I loved the pico as well, so yummy. Their salsa bar also had whole peppers, limes, onion and cilantro, and they also had Mr. Pibb! Service is always so friendly and efficient, and the shop is so so clean. they always are restocking something or sweeping somewhere and the cleanliness of the place also stands out to me. I am hoping this was just a one off moment but the fish taco taste like it was filled with fish sticks, the rice was not completely cooked so it was still hard and crunchy. I got a one taco (chicken) one enchilada (cheese) combo. It came with rice and beans. My partner got a two enchilada (chicken) combo. We split a side of chips. They bring you a large salsa container that you can fill with their house made salsa when you get the chips -- highly recommend the red salsa! I am used to tiny tacos. Not the case here! We have been here several times already since they've opened. Thankful so we don't have to deal with the horrible customer service at the other Mexican food place in The Marketplace by Orangetheory. The place is clean and the workers bus the tables after you finish. The employees are friendly and efficient. Today I tried their enchiladas. The tartness of the green sauce goes well with the shrimp. Their rice is amazingly good. Don't let the plain look fool you. I'm a bit surprised by the high ratings of this new restaurant. I ordered a combo plate consisting of a charbroiled fish taco, ensenada style enchilada, beans and rice. The taco is plain by itself so you have to add lime and salsa for it to have any flavor. $5 for that taco alone is diabolical. In contrast, the plate had somewhat more depth and texture. Overall, the high price of their combo plate did not meet my expectations. I can go to Miguel's or a Mexican fast food chain with a coupon instead for half of the price we paid. On the upside, the restaurant is clean and the staff are very nice and efficient. We've been here several times now and the food is tasty and fresh. This last time we ordered a platter with fish and a platter with carne asada. The platters came with rice and beans (pinto or black) and a healthy scoop of guacamole. The fish was nice and firm ( one time they told me it was ono), not some cheap tilapia or swai often used by restaurants to sub white-fleshed fish. The pinto beans were nice and creamy, well seasoned, not bland. The carne asada was nicely grilled, tender and flavorful. We also ordered a tacos de papas. Three crunchy tacos came to an order. It was topped with a drizzle of cream, some chopped lettuce and a side of guacamole. Delicious as well! Overall we had a most pleasant experience and left satiated and happy. See you soon! read more
